I could see the following error in the event viewer.
A platform error message was encountered.

This is happening when i send a mail to the queue i have
created.
Also i get this error when using the Deployment Manager
application of MS CRM.
Any help will be very useful.

Oppurtunities not calculating
How can I get my oppurtunities to calculate volume discounts?

contract allotments
When you create a contract line item and specify the allotment under
"Total Cases/Minutes", is this allotment reset monthly? or is this the
total allotment for the entire contract?
If the latter, how can I setup CRM to automatically allocate the
amount specified on a monthly basis i.e. client is allocated 5
hours/month - after 5 hours, they must pay at a discounted rate?

CRM and Great Plains integration
Hello
Our company is a registered user of Great Plains 7.5 on
MSSQL, and we are also Microsoft Action Pack subscribers,
which gives us an evaluation copy of CRM and 5 CALS. I
understand that there is a CD available which integrates
the two packages together, but I cannot find a source for
it and my Great Plains reseller does not sell CRM so they
cannot help me. Can anyone tell me how I might obtain a
copy of this Great Plains/CRM integration software?

Microsoft Run Time Error Mesaages
Please can someone help me or point me in the right direction over an ongoing problem I have. Whilst using the Internet, I constantly get a Microsoft Message pop-up on the screen saying the "Run-Time" Error has expired. No matter whether you click on "OK" or the red cross box in the top left hand corner of the message box, the internet is immediately shut down and you have to reopen it to continue. Weird Spacing Problem
I have two users that when they type an email in CRM and then click
Save, it adds about 15 to 20 line spaces at the top of the document.
To test, I used the same Contact, clicked email, then Save and it
didn't do it for me. But then I had him go in to that Contact and
open the email I had just created and it immediately added 15-20 lines
at the top (that he can't get rid of). If he sends the email it
leaves the lines and appears like it's a big, blank email.
Anyone seen anything like this? I thought at first maybe it was an OL
2003 thing because I'm still on 2000, but I tested another user at

column widths
How is it that Microsoft made a product, CRM 1.2, that has
columns where you can only adjust the width to be smaller?
Moving the margin of a column in EITHER direction makes
the column smaller. This is nonsense. The column widths in
CRM don't work like Word or Excel or any other program

CRM Buld E-mail or Direct Email with Templates
I have CRM on our server here and I am having a problem
with the bulk E-mail option or Direct E-mail option when
using the Template manager.
We cannot send out a Template to multiple contacts, we
have several contacts and when I Highlight the ones on one
page I go to the next page and highlight them and go back
to the first page, all the ones on the first page are not
highlighted no more.
I have setup the user that will be doing all the bulk E-
mailing with the CRM Outlook Sales client on here desktop
and all the folders for CRM contacts show up but when I
try going into one of the folders, it will bring up the
CRM program and then it locks up Outlook.

SFO Setup
Hello All!
While setting up SFO on MS Outlook (Office XP) I get following error
message:
"Setup was unable to find an instance of the Microsoft CRM Server component"
This is the very first time I am installing it. I have gone through the

User Account Management (Domain User account set-up
I set up a user in CRM, but typed in the Domain Logon
Name incorrectly during the initial user set up process.
When I go back to the user id, the Domain Name field is

I understand that it is possible to use COM interfaces via Microsoft.Crm.Platform.ComProxy.dl
Tried to #import Microsoft.Crm.Platform.ComProxy.tlb, and tli and tlh files where generated fine and I could code a tiny sample .exe. But at run time I always have a REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG (0x80040154L) error
Tried to register ComProxy.dll using regsvr32 unsuccessfully (guess that comproxy.dll does not export DllRegister). Also tryed to register as assembly using regasm.exe, having same results
Same behaviour when runing sample test in both developper's and CRM server machine

CRM Router errors 5902 & 5892
Hello NG
We have recently installed CRM 1.2 (Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003) and set
up 5 e-mail queues. These queues work fine except that some messages don't
make it into the CRM (they are in the mailbox itself). Since we first found
out about the problem all e-mails where we receive these errors were sent
from Lotus Notes.
Has anyone experienced this situation and/or have any suggestions?

emails arriving at a Queue
Hi there!
We have configured a queue in CRM, which will gather all support emails. It
seems to work fine, except that each email comes at least 20 times! As a
result, as soon as we clear the queue, it get filled up with the same emails
again! Any help? Are we missing something here?

Creating a new excel template like SFO quote mailmerge template
I want to create an excel template for calculation purposes on quote
form.
Print Quote for customer on SFO lets you create a word mailmerge
template. Just like that I want to create a custom menu item which
will let me bring up an excel template, on which I can do calculations

Contact and Account Relationship
I have Account1 with primary contact as Contact1.
Account2 with primary contact as Contact1.
When I do an an advanced find for accounts with primary contact as
Contact1, it shows me
Account1
Account2
1. Now, one contact is linked to multiple accounts. I am confused
here, I thought contact can have only one account. Can someone clarify
this ?
What I want to do is, create a side tab Accounts on contact form which
when clicked will show all the accounts linked to that contact.
2. How do you create a side tab ?
3. How do you create a new form linked to side tab and associate a
query to it ? In my case the query is "Show all the accounts linked to
the contact"

Incoming Emails
Hello,
We installed the CRM1.2 on the same server with
exchange. Everything is working fine except that the CRM
users can not see incoming emails inside CRM although
these emails are CRM emails.

URL for New Account
Hi,
I am writing a custom app for integration with CRM, and would like to use
javascript to open a new window, and navigate to the same screen that a user
would get if they were to click on New Account in the Sales module. I am

Wacky Default Values
I have a picklist in both my Contact and Account records with a default
value set. If I create a new Contact or Account, this default value works
properly.
However, when I convert a Lead to either a Contact or Account, this value
appears in the record when it is pulled up, but it is displaying a blank in
all my views.

Simple import of Product
Is there a simple way to import products into the system? Let's say I have a long list in Excel with all my Products, would it be possible some how to import this data?
First I thougt of just putting it directly into the database, but that doesn't work because there are several fields that I think CRM has to generate the data for (or...?). Anyways, it's properly not a good idea to play around with the database like this. So what would be the "right" way to do this, if there is any?
I looked around in the manual for the Data Migration Tool, but it seems so ... big. Is this really the most simple way to do a data import.

Creating custom CRM pages - templates?
I was curious - when we want to create our own custom page within the CRM,
how do we adopt the 'style' of the core CRM pages and use the controls that
they have? Is there a core CSS that I need to apply to my pages that's
provided by MS?
I would also want to mimic their tabbed environment, and the ability to use
their multiline selection control that's used all over (i.e. the one that
displays the contact list based on view).
Are these custom CRM user controls? If so, how do I use them for my own
pages?

Unable to view reports in MSCRM 1.2
Hi,
I've installed MSDN version av MSCRM and everythink works fine.But I'm
not able to view/create any kind of reports and I don't get any kind
of error at all.
It says that "No records are available in this view".
I tried to logged in as different kinds of roles with no success.
All Crystal report services are started as well successfully.
Any idea what it could be the problem ?

CRM Router Problem
Hello,
We are using the MS CRM 1.2.
I installed the CRM server, updated our Exchange 2000 Server and installed
the CRM Exchange Email Router.
I also configured the SQL server as mentionned in the implementation guide
(Section: Installing the Microsoft CRM-Exchange E-mail Router) and
configured the user's extensionAttribute as mentionned in the same section.
My problem are:
1) When a conctact, that is in the CRM and activ, I don't see the mail in
the CRM.
2) When a CRM user is sending an email to this contact this email doesn't
appear in the CRM
I thought that the CRM Router made a copy of an email when this email exists
in the CRM server.
Am I doing somethig rong? Or did I misunderstood the work of this router?

Creating additional panes of data in CRM 1.2
When we select a Contact, I want to be able to bring up
both the History and Activities associated with the
contact. I'd like to create a 'window pane' on the right
side and the bottom that displays this information - the
question is can I do this without having to create a
completely new ASP form?

Change the owner of a lead without keeping the lead shared
When I assign a lead to a different user, the old owner still has access to
the lead via sharing. This is a system default, described in article 33290
in TechKnowledge. How can I disable this? When I re-assign a lead from one
sales rep to another, I don't want the old owner to see the lead anymore.
Also, does anyone know where in the CRM database this sharing info is
stored? I'd like to run a report on which leads are shared, but I can't
find the sharing info anywhere...

Undeleting picklist field values
I have two picklists. One using industrycode in Leads,
one a custom field in opportunities. They are mapped.
They originally (and always should) have the same values
in the list. Several of them were removed from the
opportunity picklist (and not the Leads picklist). I now
need to 'restore' the original list (the leads list).
Has anybody figured out a hack around to do this? I can
see that the values still exist in the StringMap table,
with a display order, but I see nothing that indicates
which values are actually used...
The only alternative is to delete the original values
from the lead list, too, then add them back with the same
numbers, so they'll map properly.
