There should be an easy way to load a large number of values to a picklist.
Ideally, it would be "table based" so that additional values can be added
with which to manage the entries. For instance, one might want to specify
that a certain value should not be displayed at the current time, or that
there is a custom sort order for the values, or etc.

Please, post your solution to the newsgroup! I would like to populate a
picklist on a custom entity form from db. My first choice would be to use a
lookup, but it's not possible on a custom entity so I need to dynamically
populate a picklist from db.
