    - CRM Error message I have one user that always seems to incur issues with viewing certain quotes or opportunities, and sometimes workplace activities. He is the only one in our company that uses CRM that has this problem. For example, when he tries to "open in new window" an attachment to a note...he receives the following error message: 'C:\Documents and Settings\userid.domain\Local Settins\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\K9EVODE3\filename.xls' could not be found. Check the spelling of the filename and and that the file location is correct. If you are trying to ope the file from your list of most recently used files on the File menu, make sure that it has not been renamed, moved, or deleted. I have opened his security role to give him administrator permissions, and he still has issues. I checked his internet options, and the server is listed as a trusted site.     - CRM crashes IE I have a problem where one user, the guy who uses it the most, 80% more than any other users, will crash for no apparent reason when working in CRM. When I say crash I mean that IE locked and had to close taking all open CRM windows with it. The most recent occurence was during a print job and he was only changing the number of pages to print. This occured on his old machine running windows 2000 and just occured on a new machine running windows xp with all service packs. Anyone have any insight into this? Any suggestions on what to look for? Our CRM server is hosted remotely along with our Exchange and Great Plains to which CRM is connected via Biztalk. Thanks!     - SFO offline sync Hi. Can anyone tell me, if its posible to limit the offline synkrinisation to acount, contacts etc that have the local user as owner.     - Tracking email turn around time A client of ours wants to report on the turn around time on emails - from the time the email arrived to the time a staff member replied to it. How could you do this? We thought about reporting on the create date and time of the two emails but there does not seem to be any association linking the GUID of the inbound email with the GUID of reply.     - Apply Rule -- Workflow Process list has missing items Hi, I was working at applying rules manually. I used to have 3 rules to choose from. Then I had 2, then 1, and now 2 again. The 3 rules exist and have been activated the entire time. The only thing I may have done is refresh (F5) the form while the rule was running. Now it is does not have the entire list of 3 rules to choose from on this item (Order). On all other orders, the list contains 3, but only 2 for this one. Anyone have ANY insight on this behaviour?? I have seen this behaviour once before. I ended up recreating the item (it was a Case, but this time it is an Order). I just discovered, if I delete all the active processes for the order in Workflow manager, all 3 rules once again appear. This is definitely strange behaviour. FYI: The rule that was missing, calls itself recursively after a wait period. This is not the case when I saw this behaviour on a CRM Case however. Thanks in advance for your insight/comments.     - Mail Merge Question We would like to perform a mail merge on contacts associated within accounts given certain geographical information. The problem we have is many of our contacts do not have address information within the contact, it only exists within the associated account. We are using the c360 query tool which allows us to find the contacts, but the address information appears to be unavailable to the mail merge since in only exists on the account.     - Searching Leads by company name.. I have been assigned as part of my daily job duties to start getting some of MS CRM issues addressed. Most of the issues are small, but lead to a company wide feeling that the tool is not yet living up to its full potential. I have two questions at this point: Is there any way to change the default search criteria for when searhing through "leads" to allow for a user to search the company name? The default settings only allow a person to search for a persons name. Is there any way to transfer the notes from a lead into an account record when it is converted? As it stands we have to drill down from the new account record into the original lead record and then review the notes from there. This makes it hard to make sure we are not missing information without having to open up every new account record and checking the original lead for notes. ANY help would be appreciated.     - Fixing user with wrong Domain Logon Name This is both a comment and question. When adding a new user I forgot to preface his Domain Logon Name with the domain. Instead of typing domain\username I simply typed username. There was warning message that was generated but then the user got created. I opened the newly created user in an attempt to fix my mistake but the Domain Logon Name field was greyed out. I "fixed" the problem by modifying the users' record in the SystemUserBase table in the CompanyName_MSCRM database. So far everything seems to be working but if any of you see a problem with how I fixed this issue, please let me know ASAP before I run into bigger problems. Thanks.     - Exchange Problems I have a fresh install of CRM 1.2 with all users using the Sales Standard Client (SFO or Outlook). Whenever I send an Email out of CRM it tags it in the subject line and any replies to this message work just fine (making me think the Exchange tie-in is working). However, I have set up a Queue user and any messages sent to that user never make it into the Queue. I have verified that they have been received becaue they are in that user's inbox.     - Meta Data Cache Error Hello Everyone, I am having a mixed experience with MS CRM. Some features I really like, others not so much. I expect MS will add many improvements next go around.     - Migrating activities to Existing Accounts Hi Could someone verify the possibility of using the CDF to import data as Activities and relating them to Accounts?.. From a post someone mentioned it wasnt possible.. although when I logged a similar scenario (Contact import instead of activities).. I would like it to open in a new window. I have done some research and found some javascript help, but no examples that I can get to function correctly.     - Snapshot Agent Fails To Start Hi All, I'm so close to getting my SFO problems sorted but I've still got one problem. The initial snapshot is failing to work, this is only with one of the initial scheduled jobs though. CRMSQL01-Solution1_METABASE-CRMMetaPub-Ourcompany_METABAS-10 The error reports say this: The job failed. The Job was invoked by Schedule 36 (Replication agent schedule.).     - Easy way to validate isv.config syntax If anybody else out there is new to the XML and web environments, I just wanted to pass along this hint. When you're customizing isv.config, it is fairly easy to introduce XML syntax errors that will stop the isv.config file from loading. Rather than find out after doing an iisreset and loading CRM, there is a much easier way to check syntax. After making your edits, copy the file to a file with an .xml extension (such as Copy of isv.config.xml). Ignore the warning about changing the file extension. Then double-click the file. If it is correct XML syntax, the XML tree will load in IE. If it doesn't have the correct syntax, you'll get a very helpful message indicating where the problem lies...     - Strange behavior of KB Articles Hi, We're seeing some weird behavior in the Knowledge Base. After some articles are created and we do a search (which seems to work ok) and it finds an article or two, if we then do a Refresh List it does not work. Also, if we click on another kb folder which, in reality, does not contain the articles, the articles are listed there anyway. Then, by clicking on the correct folder again, the articles are listed properly. I just wonder if anyone else has seen this effect - I hope I explained it so it can be understood.     - Can't add field by deployment manager Hi all I have two questions about ENTERPRISE_NAME_MSCRM data base, any help is very apreciated. First, I canÂ´t add fields via Deployment Manager, I get the following error messages when trying to add a field: dmLog: sp_repladdcolumn failed. - No se pudo agregar la columna 'CFMProductExtra' a la tabla 'InvoiceDetailBase'. dmLog: Failed to add new Memo attribute (CFMProductExtra) to InvoiceDetail entity. The second question is about extra tables in that MSCRM data base. In the SQL Server Enterprise Manager, when i look in the Tables section of the ENTERPRISE_NAME_MSCRM data base, i get the following tables: AccountBase AccountLeads ... CompetitorSalesLiterature conflict_CRMPub-EMPRESA__MSCRM_AccountBase conflict_CRMPub-EMPRESA__MSCRM_AccountLeads ...etc There is a conflict_CRMPub_... table for each 'normal' table from AccountBase to UserSettingBase The normal tables were created on 28/09/2004 and the type column value is USER The 'new' conflict tables were created on 22/02/2005 and the type column is SYSTEM This table could be the cause of the adding problem??     - Moving CRM from one server to another error at step 5 I've only got one server on the network. I wanted to reinstall it from scratch as when CRM was installed Exchange had not been and is coming up with a corrupt metabase if I try to install. The server has 2 disks mirrored, so I've broken the mirror and now have the old installation on one disk and a brand new install on the other. The machine name, domain name etc are identical.     - salestage in crm standard The salesstagecode picklist field is used in the sales standard version to change the stage of a sales opportunity. We understand there is java code to change the probability field when the salestage is changed. Changing the salesstage picklist field does not seem to change the the stage/status of the opportunity. Is this the way it is meant to be? Is there some way we should tie the salesstage picklist to the stage of the opportunity that is viewed in the bottom right toolbar of the sales opportunity and is used in the standard sales forecast reports?     - Script error when tyring to create new crm contact with outlook I have just installed CRM and web interface works ok, now I started installing outlook client and it wen't ok, only needed to install xml core separately. Everything looked great until I started testing from Outlook client, I made new crm appointment and then I tried to add new contact, I click from button labeled regarding, then from window that opened I have tried to choose account and also contact, error is same, anyway after choosing contact or account I click New... soon new window opens labeled quick create account/contact, then Internet Explorer script error box opens reading: Line 33 Char 4, frmResult._id.lenght is null or not an object. Also in quick create window shows error "An error has occured. For more information, contact your system administrator." I am administrator of this system so not very helpful ;) Perhaps someone have had similar problem and knows what is wrong? System specs: Server is SBS2003 CRM 1.2 with update 1 that solves XPSP2 issues, workstation WinXP SP2 with Office 2003 SBE CRM client 1.2 with update 1 that solves XPSP2 issues. I have installed 1.2 SFO on several machines without issue that are running
XP with Office 2000. I am unable to install on my machine though. I am
running XP and Office 2003. It takes forever to start the initial
installation, and then I selected the listed components to install, after
about 15 minutes the PC stops responding. When I exit out, it causes all
kinds of problems with other applications, even after re-booting. I thought
that it could be a corrupted disk, so I had my software vendor send me a new
disk. Same thing.

Any advice? It is very frustrating.
