I removed the client from add/remove programs. I deleted
the Microsoft CRM folder and Microsoft SQL folders from
program files. I reinstalled the client - said it was
successful, but when I open outlook all I get is a
Microsoft CRM folder with 2 subfolders - custom forms and
deleted items. Does anyone know what happened here? How
do I get the accounts, contacts, ect. subfolders back?

Thanks for the help,
Jen

Hi Jen,

Before you go through the entire process of un-installing &
re-installing the SFO, you may want to try the following:

SYMPTOMS

The CRM folders and menu bar are missing from the Microsoft CRM Sales
for Outlook Client.

CAUSE

The COM Addin may not be installed correctly in the Sales for Outlook
client.

RESOLUTION

Complete the following steps to correctly display the folder and menu
bar options:

1. Launch Outlook and go to Tools | Options.

2. Select the Other tab and select Advanced Options.

3. Select COM Addins.

4. Highlight Microsoft CRM Outlook Addin and note the location path
below it. (You may want to write this down since you will need it in
step 13)

5. Select Remove to remove the Microsoft CRM Outlook Addin.

6. Select OK to all windows and close Outlook.

7. Launch Outlook and go to Tools | Options.

8. Select the Other Tab and select Advanced Options.

9. Select COM Addins. Select Add.

10. Navigate to the path from step 6 (If there was not one specified
try /Program Files/CRM/Client/Bin/crmaddin.dll)

14. Select OK to all windows. Close and re-launch Outlook.

If the check mark becomes unchecked when you click Ok, the CassiniPort
entry may be missing in the registry. Complete the following steps to
add the CassiniPort entry:

IMPORTANT - This article contains information about modifying the
registry. Before you modify the registry, make sure to back it up and
make sure that you understand how to restore the registry if a problem
occurs. For information about how to back up, restore, and edit the
registry, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 256986 - Description of
the Microsoft Windows Registry.

a. Click Start, point to Run and type regedit.

b. Navigate to the following folder, My Computer\
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MSCRM.

c. Right click on MSCRM and select New String Value. Type CassiniPort
in the Value name field and press enter.

d. Right click the CassiniPort key and select Modify. Type 2525 in
the Value Data Field, and then click Ok.

e. Close the registry by clicking File on the Menubar and then Exit.

f. Close Microsoft Outlook, re-open and try adding the Microsoft CRM
Outlook Addin.

If your Folder Options and Menu bar still do not display, un-install
and reinstall the Sales for Outlook client. See Techknowledge 27532
for instructions to un-install and reinstall the Sales for Outlook
client.
