hello all!,

My users sometimes have to schedule appointments or phone calls on top of
each other. (both from 12:00-12:30) when they attempt to do this, they
receive and error message "an error has occurred, contact system admin..."
then after they click "ok" an error pops up "General failure in scheduling
engine."
The ignore and save allows them to save the overlapping appointments, but is
there a way or config option to reduce these errors.... thanks.... eric

Yes and No. It looks like there is a problem with the post callout for
appointments. So you are probably getting this error because you are using a
post callout. My error is resolved when I remove the callout, but then the
functionality of the callout is gone. I have submitted a case to microsoft
and they have taken their time to reply back that they are submitting the
issue to the hotfix team. Not sure how long that process takes.... eric

I have the same error just generating an appt from an opportunity. Is it
because I have multiple people in the appt.

Any progress here? We had a post callout working great, then all of
the sudden it quit working and we're getting a "General failure in
scheduling engnie". Does anyone know what services make up the
scheduling engine and how to troubleshoot it. Appointments are
critical for this customer, and I've tried everything under the sun,
and the SDK doesn't really say anything either.

My tech sent me an email last night saying he found on google that:On Windows
Server 2003 and IIS 6.0, Microsoft CRM Server creates an application pool
called â??CRMAppPoolâ?? which operates under user credentials specified during
installation. We recommend that no other ASP.NET application be installed
under this same application pool. In the case of IIS 5.0 (and IIS 6.0 running
in IIS 5.0 isolation mode), we recommend that the Microsoft CRM Web site be
the only Web

We are having all kinds of problems with the scheduling engine, so I am
having me tech install it on a web server this weekend and see if that makes
our errors go away. Not sure if this is any help or not to you. per another
thread I also changed my ASP.net to 1.1 but that didn't help me either.
