I'm trying to use an existing instance of a CRM database with a new
installation of CRM. However, the installation script doesn't see the
existing databases. Am I missing something on SQL Server? Thanks.

Mark, is your server on the same domain or a different domain and are you
using the named or default instance in SQL Server? I presume you are trying
to move the data to another server correct?

Check this following.

1. Make sure the User installing CRM , has Proper permission in the SQL
Database.
Make sure the user is Part of the SQL Server Domain Admin.
You can find out the Existing Domain Admin who have access to the CRM Server
by going to You can check this in "Enterprise Manager" ,in the "Security".

Thne you add your user this domain group.
