Freeze-ups
I am running Windows XP Pro. My operating system is
freezing up at random moments. I have not recently
loaded any new software. I have not made any changes to
my computer recently. Please let me know if there are

Removing Down Arrows
I received a chart from another office and in trying to
use it for our office have found a large down arrow
inserted into several areas. I can't get them removed nor
can I duplicate putting them in the chart in other
locations. Can anyone direct me? The person who
originally made the chart has left the company and moved
from the area and no one else knows how she did it. Your

CRM to GP Integration--Account # to Account ID
Hello:
Has anybody else run across a problem integrating account
records in CRM--specifically the account numbers? We
would like to be able to assign an account number from
CRM once they become a customer and place the first
order.
We have setup the integration to create GP customers on
order creation, but GP overrides whatever is entered in
the CRM account # field and writes the account name into
the GP Customer ID field.
One option we thought of was to create the records first
in GP, but this would be time consuming and there would
be no way to link the newly created customer record to
all of the old activity history in CRM that was recorded
when they were just a prospect.
Any input or ideas would be appreciated.

Administrator trouble
The computer I'm using has Windows 98,and was shared by me
and others a few years ago,now I have it to myself,and
have no contact with the last users.They've changed the
password I need to log in as Administrator to update or
install certain programs.My mom thinks it's hopeless,and

Microsoft Publisher
When I save my documents, I click on save or save as. In
either case, the system asks me what I want to call it. If
I don't rememeber the name of my document, it will save it
for me with whatever name I want to call it. Why doesn't
the system remember and list on the page the name of the
document. My old publisher automatically rememebers what
document I am working on and saves accordingly. This is

close opportunity Status reason drop down is "-1"
Hi,
i have a testinstallation of ms crm here which shows status reason "-1"
instead of the normal values listed below. This also happens when trying to
close a case in the status reason field. everything else seems to work fine.
Any help would be appreciated.

Customizing Pick list values in forms
We are having trouble seeing our changes to forms and
their pick list values. We have added the custome values
in system customizations and saved them but when we go
into CRM we don't see the values we added to the drop
down. Do we need to "publish" these changes some way. I'm
sure it is something simple we are missing I'm just not
seeing it. An example would be under leads. We want to add

Hi I have two problem,
1. The calendar at the right top corner of the Workplace-Calendar not works,
there is a text "NaN" in every field. But other pop-up calendars works well.
2. I was create an appointment with CRM Outlook client , but appointment
created in only my account and it didnt sent any request to ather attendees.
When I looked to appointment details in the scheduling tab, I see other
attendees as domain\user and their free/busy data not shown, if i correct as

Sales For Outlook (ISV Integration)
Hello, I have gone through the ISV integration for browser client but
actually
just putting my hands in the sales for outlook client. So, I need to ask
some
basic questions...
i- My understanding is that there is a built-in Addin provided with the
sales for outlook client and we are not allowed to perform any ISV
integration in it. Is it right?
ii - If the answer to above question is correct, can we just customize it to
some extent? If so, how much.
iii - To integrate ISV in it, do I need to write my own Addin for outlook,
if this is the only solution for now..... I will appreciate any basic steps
towards it. Or a link from where I can get some help.

CDFMigrationTool No Longer Working for Me?
We just completed our testing efforts of MS CRM and as a
result, decided to restore the 4 CRM databases (_MSCRM,
_METABASE, _CRMCRYSTAL, _MSCRMDISTRIBUTION) back to
a 'clean' state. Apparently, the restoration files
captured the databases in a state prior to running the
migration tool to import our contacts from the CDF
database into the CRM database(s).
I've tried to run the migration tool several times now
after the databases were restored, but it appears that
nothing is being migrated. The time it takes for the tool
to finish running now is extremely shorter than what it
took for the intial (and successful) migration.

I have just installed MS office with windows XP. I set
the language to English (Australian) as shown in the
control panel. However when I write a document in any
application the dictionary used is English (US). How do I
set it to Australian?
Also, when I try to add an item to the dictionary, the

Help with ActionParameters
I'm not sure how many people out there are using the SDK with CRM, but this
is a question for those who are. I'm trying to learn about Workflows; more
specifically about programming them through the SDK. What I'm trying to do
is create a workflow which, upon the creation of an account, updates the
email address to some other value. This is purely academic and I'm only
doing this so I can get a better understanding of workflows and the SDK,
etc.
I've ran into a snag, however, in trying to add a parameter to my Action.
Currently I've created the Process (process.Create()), created the Step
(process.CreateStep()), created the Action (process.CreateAction()), and now
I'm trying to add Parameters. One of the XML elements for a parameter has a
value that is also an XML string (the XML for the new value of the
EmailAddress1 field for the Account that's being updated). See the C# below

Since I can't use Exchange 2003 with CRM yet, I thought I'd create a new
server on my network running Exchange 2000 and use it strictly for CRM.
However, I can't seem to find where, in CRM, I change the name of the

I need to add new lookup field to some entities (or add some workaround that
satisfy the same needings).
For instance I need to add (somethink like) a lookup field to the Quote to
refer to another Account (<Potential Supplier>) different from the standard

can automatically escalate overdue service requests..." and that Microsoft

management when required." I have found no documentation anywhere else on
how to do this, and I have found no other references to escalation in
Microsoft CRM on the web or in this newsgroup. I also saw no way to do this
with the functionality provided by the Workflow Manager. Has anyone else
set up escalation rules in Microsoft CRM? (Ideally, we would like to
escalate overdue user activities to the user's manager.)

Importing Multiple contacts to a master account
I'm trying to get the new microsoft CRM to group multiple
contacts under 1 key account. For example: I have 10
contacts for Nokia and I want to put them all under
Nokia. Instead, when I export my excel file to the crm
it turns all the contacts into there own master files,
unconnected. Is there a way to import the files and have

Hey everyone... i'm working at the Port Authority of NY &
Nj as a summer intern... I have to do some research. here

They'd like to allow employees access their Outlook via
intranet and internet. That's not possible at the moment.
Our current webServer is iPlanet. They use MS Exchange
Server 2000 and Outlook 2000. Can these three be
configured to allow them the internet / intranet access to
their emails? Or will they need an IIS? If so, any version

try to logon using Domain User privelidges, it fails to

Time-Based Wait in Workflow Manager
I want to automatically create a task for an opportunity 1 day before an
appointment date (I have not yet created/used a field for this) that is
entered for that opportunity. The "Time-Based Wait" in the Workflow Manager
seems to be the best tool to do this, but the "createdon" field is the only
one that seems to be available to select in a time-based wait. I see that
there are several fields with datetime datatype in the Opportunity schema,
so I expected these fields to appear as options in the time-based wait as
well. Any suggestions?

I have some clients running SBS 2000 now. If I install CRM for those
customers, and planning to upgrade them to SBS 2003 when it releases. Will
Microsft fix the problems for CRM not running on Windows 2003 by then?

Hi,
There seems to be hundreds of CRM software packages out there. I am trying
to understand what makes a good CRM package. My motivation for asking is
that I am vaguely thinking of writing my own CRM package, but I need to find
out more about user requirements.
Please can you answer some quick questions for me!? Thanks!
1/ What "non-Microsoft" CRM software have you used - what did you think of
it? - and do you have a URL for it?
2/ How do you think Microsoft CRM compares to competitor products? What
does it have that the others dont, and/or lack which the others have?
3/ What are the 3 (or more?) important key features that you need in CRM
