    - Sales for Outlook v1.2 - can't go offline, render detail forms. I can't get the CRM Sales for Outlook application v1.2 to go into offline mode. Also the detail forms don't render, I get the error form (more information below). Access to the CRM server v1.2 works fine from the web. I am running Windows XP Professional on the client and Office 2000 SP3 with the hotfixes applied. On the server I have CRM v1.2, SQL Server 2000 and Exchange 2000 installed on the same system that is a child DC (native mode) of a parent DC running in Mixed- Mode (mscrm.ardexus.com). I am aware that installing everything on the same machine/DC is not officially supported but read some posts saying that it works for them. When I press the "Go Offline" button on the Outlook client I get the following message: "CRM Sales for Outlook cannot go offline. The logged on user does not have sufficient privileges, or the Microsoft CRM server was not found." I can see the view data in Outlook (Accounts etc.) but when I double click a line item, the details form does not show, instead I get the error form "Error. An error has occured. For more information contact your system administrator." The client install went fine without any warnings. I have turned on the debug mode in \Client\res\Web\web.config => <add key="DevErrors" value="On"/>. The details of the error (after enabling the DevErrors mode) are: Could not find file "F:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\Client\res\Web\_xslfiles\1_Update.xsl". It appears that the files from \Microsoft CRM\Client\res\Web\_xslfiles\ folder are missing. I think that they should be downloaded dynamically from the CRM server but for some reason that does not happen. The only file in the folder is dmupdate.xml. Have you encountered this case before?     - Offline post-callouts? Hello, We're using a post-callout to add some business logic to the MS CRM, but now we want that business logic available to the Outlook client when working offline as well. We've installed the COM+ component on a test client, and registered it with CRM, and it gets called at the appropriate time, but it doesn't work: the component blocks when trying to create a CRM object (e.g. BizUser). An alternative would be to access the local MSDE datastore directly, but we can't figure out how to do that (we always get "connection refused"). We're unable to find any documentation about how to use the post-callout mechanism. Is it even possible? If anybody could shed some light on the situation, we'd really appreciate it!     - Failure during installation Hi! I've experienced an odd failure during installation. A dialog pops up with the following message: Setup was unable to unregister the security service. The dialog contains three buttons Abort, Retry, and Ignore. I ran across this last night. I tried retry several times. Then, I chose ignore. The net effect was that the CRM security service wouldn't start. So, this morning, I am attempting to install again. I have run across the same error. Can someone give me a clue on this one?     - install on win2k3 I've spent 3 days installing and uninstalling and rebuilding from scratch to get version 1.2 installed on a clean brand new dell 1750 running win2k3 with sql2k sp3a. No luck. Nothing but errors. I've been through every single knowledge base article and every single news group posting and followed every recommendation possible and cannot get this program to even install. Has anyone out there managed to install this on win2k3 running sql2k sp3a and have it work? I'm running a rock solid native windows 2000 domain, with a single exchange 2000 server. All servers are patched and uptodate and error free in their event logs. I've never seen anything like this. I've tried everything - even using a second identical server. The user profile that was used during installation has been overwritten with another profile, so i cannot use the add remove program files uninstaller.     - Installing 1.2 and getting SQL error... Help! I am trying to install 1.2, but I cannot seem to get around it trying to create the CRM databases. I am installing on a 2003 Server and my SQL 2000 is running on 2000 Server. During the installation wizard I am able to connect to the SQL server and there is seems to be no difference on which account I setup, local, Domain, etc. The error occurs as soon as the installation starts and is as follows: Setup was unable to install Microsoft CRM Server. Setup was unable to create the Microsoft CRM databases. Failed to run script:00 - create mscrm.sql. HRESULT:80040E14 Unknown error. (80040E14) I don't think it matters, but this server had 1.0 installed on it and the databases for the installation were created to this same server just fine.     - can not send email with an image i wanted to send an email to multiple contacts with an image that can be seen at the body part of the email. so i created an email template but could not add the image file to the body of the email. since i could not attach the file, i opened the image file with internet explorer and i drag and dropped the image on the email template. it looked all right. the image can be seen on the template. but when i sent it. the recipient could see no image but the red x sign. any solution for sending this type of image based emails from crm? regards, orkun Tag: CRM host page Tag: 12606

    - Post CallOut and credentials Hello, We want to create a post callout for an activity phone call. In the post callout code we want to update a custom field called CFSlastphonecall on the account record that is associated with the activity phone call. The question that I have is how do we make sure that we are using the users credential infomation to update the account record. But if we do this then the account record that gets updated will have the lastmodified by field set to the crm admin account and not user who updated and saved the phone call activity.     - Microsoft Search Hi, I posted this in SQL newsgroup and got a suggestion of turning off MS Search; however, I wanted to make sure it's not needed by CRM before turning it off. I'm running 1.2 on a box with W2k3 Ent, SQL 2k, and Ex2k3. The past week I started noticing the hard drive and DVD-ROM lights lit up every sec nonstop. It just goes on forever. When I checked EV I found that MS Search was running every 15 minutes lasting 6 seconds each time. Is MS Search needed by CRM? I don't have anything else running on SQL except for CRM.     - Clone Addon not working with CRM 1.2 Attached is an add-on we were using with CRM 1.0 to enable the easy cloning of records. I can't get it to work with v1.2. Hopefully someone can look at it and tell me what's wrong. We clone account records mostly. The debugging I have done, indicates a duplicate record error when the create account routine is called. Maybe something to do with the address1 or address2 records linked to the account record??? You need to tell us how you have set up your CRM environment. Items such as

1 - Number and role of servers
2 - Version of CRM used
3 - Can you connect using the IP address
4 - Can you cannot directly on the CRM server using http://localhost for
example if the CRM web is set up as the default web

It depends on many factors, it sounds like you don't seem to know much about
IIS, TCP etc although I might be wrong...if you don't I'd leave it to a
professional if I was you.
