    - Custom Entity and Activities When I create an activity on a contact that is associated with an account, that activity will show up below the customer as well as with the contact. I created a custom entity to store all the equip that is owned by a cust. When I create an activity associated with that equip. record, however, the activity doesn't show up under the Customer account like the activity associated with the contact does.     - CRM 4.0: "Lookup Address" button doesn't always show contact's add Hey all of you masters of the CRM, here is a puzzle for ya. We made the upgrade from CRM 3.0 to 4.0 this weekend, and most things have been going well. We are noticing however that when you are in a contact, and select "orders" followed by the "New Order" button, once you click on "Look up address" it doesn't always show the address associated with the contact (even though I can confirm that the addresses show up in the contact).     - Workflow Issue for CRM 4.0 Related to Notes My president wants an e-mail sent to the Contact and/or Account owner when he adds a Note to the Contact or Account in CRM. Seems pretty simple. I created a workflow to run on Note creation. It looks like this: If Note: Created By Equals President's Name then Create e-mail message In the e-mail message, I want the To: field to be the Owner of the Contact (assuming the note was added to a Contact). In the TO: field, I used the dynamic field denoted as: {Owner(Regarding(Contact))}. This is causing an error in the workflow. When I put my own name in the To: field, it works fine, but if I put any "Regarding" field in the e-mail, it fails. Anyone else know of a workaround or hot fix for this issue?     - Track in CRM never applies automatically Hello, using the CRM outlook client I have the problem, that the Track in CRM- Button is never enabled on incoming emails. The following options are set: *Outlook - CRM - Options - Email: Check incoming Emails and set if an email is tracked as a CRM record (translated) -> is checked Track: Email messages from CRM Leads, Contacts and Accounts -> is selected Symbol: Microsoft Dynamics CRM-Symbol *Outlook - CRM - Options - Addressbook: Contacts: All Contacts in Microsoft CRM Addional records: Tracl all Elements in Microsoft Dynamics My useraccount in CRM has the setting: Email-accesstype incoming: Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook Email-accesstype outgoing: Email-Router (i want the incoming to work first) There is no Outlook mailbox forwarding rule anymore. I do not have any CRM-addresbook in my Outlook. If I click the track in CRM-button manually it is assigned to the correct contact (as the emailaddress match).     - Server not found with Outlook client Hello, if I install the Outlook Client everything seems to work fine fist. But after a while (restart outlook or something like that) I get an error "Server not found" in the titlebar of each outlook-folder related to CRM. The foldercontent looks like an Internet Explorer error message saying: The page cannot be displayed. The last line says "Server or DNS cannot be found". If I run the homepage url of the folder in Internet Explorer everything is fine. If I run the http-debugger Fiddler, it seems fine, but the page does give this error. I had the impression this occures if I had Internet Explorer open before. But i cannot say it for sure yet. Is there anything I have to setup? I already reset my zone-settings in IE as well as my extended options in IE Internet Options. Hope someone can help me with this. Thank you!     - CRM 4: DeletionService not removing records I am having problem removing records from out CRM system. Due to a problem with workflow, we have 65,000 records in out Asynoperation table. Using the SDK I have deleted 29,000 of these, but when checking the asyncoperationbase table, the are not being removed from the table, just have a deletionStateCode of 2. It has now been 4 days since these were marked as deleted, and I have used this tool http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/ScaleGroupJobEditor/ to force the deletionservice to be run, but still these records are not being deleted. There are no errors in the event log. Having turned on CRM Tracing I have found this error in the trace log: Exception while trying to execute AsyncOperationId: {5010C7F0-5CC3-DC11-AFAA-001517456D34} AsyncOperationType: 14 - System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. Can anyone give me any advice on how I may be able to get this to work correctly?     - CRM Reports; Records don't show up All, I have a problem with the reports and want to find out if more people have this problem. I've created custom reports but also used the report wizard to create reports about Salesorders. My reports only show records with the Euro currency, this is also my base currency. It does not show other orders with different currecies. It has to do with the CRMAF Pre-filtering. Because if I make a normal query the records show up just fine. Does anyone have an idea?     - login failed for one particular user Hi, We have CRM 4 on a test server running. Since 2 weeks on a production server as well, going live within weeks. A few months ago, I added all my colleagues as user to CRM on the testserver. They are in Active Directory, so only entering the login name provided the right fields to be filled in automatically. Then I assigned the right roles to these users. No problems. Then a new colleague came, she will be our key tester. I added her to CRM as described above. But when she login to the test server, she get's an error message (in my onw language, I translate:) "record is not available - de record asked for is not found or you don't have the right rights to show this record". After registering my colleagues on the new production server, including this new person, she is able to login on that server, but not on the test server... Our system administrator says it's something in CRM, a CRM expert here thinks in Active Directory (which is denied by our system administrator, because she can login on other CRM servers).     - Create New Report - As per QUOTE standard report Hi there, To set the scene, i'm using web client of 4.0, and i'm not a programmer. Currently, out-of-the-box functionality allows you to run a report called "Quote" which presents the data in a good format, almost good enough to hand to a customer. What I need is this report, but with our logo's embedded, and a few fields added/moved/removed, but i can't figure out how to edit layout options or content options, and I can't even seem to create a similar report from scratch (as they all appear to relate to exisitng XML reports out of the box).     - Custom Button for All Records on Find I would like to be able to create a button on the CRM grid, which will run against all the records in the current view, like when you click mail merge and get the option to mail merge to all records on all pages. I know how I can get the guids of selected records through to my own code, but I would like to get all the records through, maybe if there was a way to get the fetchXML passed through when the button is clicked.     - CRM Cisco call connector I've installed Cisco's Unified call connector 4.0.3 on our CRM 4.0 server, and the client on my PC. The client is talking to the server OK as it will search for a phone number and pick out the relevent Contact details from the Server. However When I click the Dial button ( from my client ) on a contact , the webpage it brings up is an http://localhost:5556............ . Question is why is my client looking for a localhost page, is there a config somewhere that i've missed that should be pointing it to the CRM server or Cisco Callmanager?     - dynamics crm 4 and microsoft outlook 2003 domino connector - no email Hi I am using the microsoft outlook 2003 connector for domino and crm version 4, If i track an email that outlook sees one of the recipients or the sender as a lotus notes domino entry in the lotus notes domino address book, when I look at the email in CRM the sender/ recipient field appears blank, or sometimes shows me when i was not the sender. Any ideas how to fix this, this behaviour only seems to happen with the MS outlook connector for domino, it does not happen with DAMO connector, but that has issues of its own! and POP3 is not an option as I want crm to sync with my calendar. does anyone else use this setup?     - Custom Button Hi , I need to create a custom button in crm that will perform the following in sequence: 1. The user selects a number of records in the entity by highlighting them 2. Clicks the custom button 3. The system performs an action on each entity record the user selected.     - Publishing Sales Literature Hi We would like to customize the Sales Literature area to offer similar functionality as the Knowledge Base. We would like our sales people to upload sales literature to a draft or unpublished area and for a sales manager to approve the literature and move the literature to a published area. We would prefer for sales people to only see their draft articles and to be able to view all published articles. I have briefly looked into customizing the sales literature area and a few problems that we may encounter is that the Sales Literature area is an organization owned entity. I was thinking of using the Employee Contact field to create views etc. however we cannot assign or share Sales Literature. Has anyone done anything similar or have any ideas?     - Systemnumber on an activity We have a customer who would like to have a systemnumber (the field can be hidden) on every activity they create. So if you make a follow up activity on the orginally activity the new activity will have the same number. Because of that they will be connected to eachother. So after a process is done you can follow the activityprocedure from A-Z.     - Moving from 3.0 Hi Have a production enviroment with one server running CRM 3.0 (32 bit) installation with a SQL 2005 db backend (32 bit SQL cluster) There's some existing customization, wf and import jobs. Now we would like to install CRM 4.0 on 2 64 bit servers (frontend with hardware LB) and with the same 2005 backend (a planned SQL upgrade to 64 bit are later in 2008) What are the step in this? - are this a straight forward process like: 1. Stop all the CRM Services 2. Backup the 32 bit Database 3. Restore Database to a New database (NewCrmDb) 4. Install CRM 4.0 on server 1 and 2 and point them to the NewCrmDb 5. Import customizations In wich order shall i do the import of existing data, wf, entities etc.? are there any specific things that I need to be aware of ? Essentially, the problems occurs when we try to import custom entities into the production environment. Here is the error: Failure: <custom entity schema name>: A SQL Server error occurred. Hello CRM 4.0 Specialists,

we have the following problem in our company:
we have too less memory in our Exchange - only 25 MB per person.
And CRM tries to put all appointments - even already closed - in
Outlook.
This definitivly kills our free space.

Is there a possibility (even a dirty hack) to minimize this
synchronization ?
We only need the open appointments in Outlook.

Any help would be great!
