        • unable to login to Internet Facing Deployment I've set up a test CRM4 system, and configured IFD using the IFDTool. If I try to connect to the CRM system via Internet Explorer, from a remote network, I see a CRM Forms-based Authentication login screen. However, no credentials appear to work. Regardless of what user account I try, the creds aren't accepted. I've verified that anonymous access is enabled on the website, and that Windows Authentication is checked. I've verifed that the MS CRM Asynchronous Service is running. I've also checked that the IUSR_servername account password is set to never expire, and that account is used for anonymous access.         • Need help on setting up users Hello all, I am a complete newbie when it comes to CRM. I finally got it installed and I can log into it now http://ironwood-crm:5555 I go to my url and get prompted for credentials and I put in my user ID and Password which I am domain admin with all privelages. Now I want to set up a few other users so we can get to testing and setup. I go to Settings/Business Unit Settings/Users I see me as the only account. If I try and add my boss for example I get an error. The setup is SBS2003 fully patched with SQL Server 2005 standard edition I think and CRM 3.0 all installed on the same machine. I am not running Exchange server so we are doing this without Exchange. I already had a Server 2003 Enterprise Edition server for my main AD, DNS, Etc.. so when I setup the SBS 2003 Server I had to make it a member server and brought over the appropriate roles for AD administration etc.. SO I have a OU called CRM users but I dont want to have to create seperate login for our employees just to use CRM.         • Email Text in Reports Does anyone know how I can get the Email Text (Activity Description for an Email) to display nicely in a Report or Advanced Find? As it is currently (with all the HTML tags) it is totaly useless. When I recieve a mail in my queues, can I then some how convert this to a lead, where it automaticly have grabbet the text from the body of the mail in to the company, name, email etc. fields?         • Critical import issue on Dynamics CRM 4.0 (bug?) Hi guys and ladies, I'm using sdk for data map creation and import. This is the scenario: imported record has one lookup field referencing the entity itself. Let's call this field New_lookup. I have both "system" and "source" lookup mappings set up. The lookup is resolved searching on a String property. Let's call this New_externalid. Now, if I'm importing a record that has a value on New_lookup that references an invalid record, the transformation asyncservice creates an Error Row with the message "cannot resolve lookup". This is right. EXCEPT in case the record I'm importing references a record that's not imported. In this case, the transormation service gives an error "An error has occurred. Try this action again.", but THE RECORD IS IMPORTED. So you have a row with an error that gets imported. Example: New_externalid New_lookup Name 1 Name1 << Ok 2 1 Name2 << This lookup has a valid values. Ok 3 5 Name3 << Invalid values. Failure handled correctly 4 3 Name4 << Reference to a row with an error. FAILURE, BUT THE RECORD IS IMPORTED! The problem wouldn't be so annoying if it would be possible to change lookup values using an update import. But, as far as I know, update imports do not process lookup mappings. They simply ignore them. Please, could someone tell me if I'm doing something wrong? Except using crappy import function, I mean. Any help would be really appreciated.         • Multi-Lingual fields Salutation Hi, I need advice on multi lingual field in CRM. I would like to have all my fields (Salutation - Miss, Mister, ....) in English language. The contacts can be from different countries (UK, Germany, Italy). Then when I decide to send e-mail or mail merge to contacts i would like to decide in which language will be the letter or mail. So when i decide that the letter will be in German language the salutations should be translated to German language (Mister =3D Herr) so that the mail merge will not use English fields but German.         • Send e-mail for a future day I have a task. I need to receive e-mail reminder 5 days after task is completed. Unfortunatelly MS Dynamics 4.0 does not work properly, because the workflow that should send the e-mail, send it 30 minutes after the task is completed !!         • No Attribute error when trying to save an account with parent acco I tried to add a parent account to an account form. The name of the parent account is displayed correctly in account form, but when I press Save or Save and Close button, I get "No attribute" error on the screen. The information about the parent account is not saved. I have made few customizations, but really don´t think that they cause this problem.         • Opportunity - Opp product / error Hello, I have a question/bug(?) concerning opportunities, products and the estimated revenue. For a client of us, we need to default the revenue option to "user provided" and put the field to "read only" so no total revenue ican automatically calculated on the opportunity level. THey always need to enter the total revenue manually. But if I now add a product from the PriceList to an OpportunityProduct, the price_per_unit of this product from the PL is not fetched, and no total_amount is calculated on the Opportunity Product Level. If I now re-open the Opportunity Product, I/the_user sees the error message on top of the screen: "The following error occured: An error occurred during pricing of a detail line item." Results: Product: x ... Unit: Y Price per unit = 0,00 Quantity=100 Amount=0,00 I dont think it should be the case that if on Opportunity Level "user calculated" is provided, that on Opportunity_Product level no total_amounts are being calculated.         • Workflow Rule Failing in 3.0 Hey, So I'm not sure why this "Create" WF rule keeps failing, but I have a picklist in a task that is set by the WF rule, based on entity conditions. If the conditions are met the Picklist is set to "Yes" (the picklist has 3 values, "Yes", "No", and "N/A"). I have some OnLoad code that checks this value, and if the Value is "Yes", a function that captures the Click "Save As Complete" event throws an Alert and prevents the action. Thing is, the Workflow rule doesn't set the field and if I go to the Workflow Monitor, I see this error: Update: [My Field] = Yes | [Date/Time] | Fail | Error code: 80041103. Query Builder Error. No Attribute. I have not altered/added/removed any of the Picklist values after creating this Rule, nor did I change the Display Name, Schema Name, or Lable Name.         • CRM Web to Lead Question Hi, I have a piece of code that I found through codeplex that creates a Lead whenever an individual fills in a form on a website (found here: http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/CRMWebToLeads/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=294).         • Archiving tracked emails - CRM 3.0 and Outlook 2003/2007 I've been searching for some confirmation on this subject with no luck. I hope I can get some experienced help on this question. What happens to tracked emails in the CRM database when we move the original email off of the Exchange server and into an archive folder? We're trying to develop an archive strategy for our users' mailboxes and we've been led to believe that if we archive the emails out off of the Exchange server, they will then be removed from the CRM database.         • Service Selection Rule in CRM 3.0 not being obeyed Hello, I've got a strange problem with CRM 3.0. I've got a service selection rule set up to select resources in such a way that it should be the least busy from any site from a resource group. The thing is that the allocation of sessions is definetely not being done to the least busy site. In fact, some sites only get allocated sessions when the rest of the sites are full and have no more available sessions.         • Struggling with resource allocation and services I'm trying to implement the last stage of our CRM and that's the scheduling of resources. We offer services to clients but the resources vary considerably. I started by defining services and adding specific resources. This works ok but if I try and add an extra resource (like a record deck) I get an error as that resource isn't specified in the service. If I try and make a service with all the possible resources in it and then select specific resources I have the problem that the service has to define either a specific number of resources or all of them.         • Purge Workflow Logs Hi, I cannot purge my workflow logs. If I try to purge them from the Workflow Monitor they never go away. I have tried running the SQL script that I found in the Optimizing CRM 3.0 document which purges the workflow logs and it fails. I have run other scripts from this document with success.         • CRM 4.0 Campaign Activity - Undeliverable Email So here is my dilemma. I have CRM 4.0 and the Exchange E-mail router set up. The exchange e-mail router is set up so that users may use the forwarding mailbox for receiving e-mail or they may use the e-mail router if they supply their credentials. All outgoing mail is configured in the e-mail router to use the Exchange SMTP server. All of this is working fine. Now my overall goal in all this is to allow me to send a Campaign Activity of type e-mail to a marketing list. I want all undeliverable messages (the message is bounced back) to show up in the Failures section rather than having them show up as Sent in the Email Messages Created section of the Campaign Activity. Is this inherit functionality within CRM? Is there a difference in functionality for how undeliverable messages are handled between the email router and forwarding mailbox methods? Could I get a workflow to do this for me? By having undeliverable messages show up as failures I would get better reporting.         • crmaddin.dll Hi all, still in our pilot test phase for the Outlook Client for CRM 3.0 / Outlook 2003 and have just got another problem. Yet another user who's crmaddin.dll seems to be playing up. I've found this link that talks about the problem a bit but doesn't give me a solution that I can use... http://blogs.msdn.com/mscrmfreak/archive/2006/04/27/584957.aspx We're wanting to roll this client out on approx. 200 pcs. While the unistall CRM client, redo the Windows profile, re-install CRM client method does work, we clearly can't apply the same solution each time one of the users loses the possibility to use the CRM client menu. The Roll Up 2 has been installed on his pc. Apparently this can happen if the CRM client isn't used on a day to day basis. Surely there must be a solution for keeping it stable on a pc? Does anyone have any other ideas, please? The user does not have local admin rights and we won't be able to give them to him and the 200 other users who should have this client installed.         • CRM v3.0 Security Requirement? Hi, We currently have 'read only' access for all CRM users for all Accounts in CRM. This is what the business required so they can easily check if an account already exists in the systen (ie help avoid duplicates being entered). The business now have another requirement where they wish to keep the above - but - also have want to have a small number of accounts that are only visible by a small number of sales people (ie sensitive accounts).         • Just upgraded test 3.0 install to 4.0, weird error when opening account? We are working on a full implementation to crm 3.0 in our office. Still working out some of the bug there. So, we decided to upgrade our test box to 4.0, so we can see if any of the bug we are having are worked out in 4.0. It appears that maybe they are...         • CRM 4.0 - Implementing sales process as an opportunity workflow Hi, My customer has very complex sales processes that must be implemented in crm. I've created a workflow on the opportunity but run into several problems. 1) My customer must be able to skip stages (or better, jump to or start the process in a particular stage). I it was possible to skip in the old crm 3 sales process and I've read its possible in CRM 4 but I can't find a way to do this. How do I skip a stage? 2) Is it possible to show what stage they are in without viewing the whole (complex ) workflow under "workflows"? Of course, I can add a field and update it whenever you enter a stage but are there better ways to solve this? 3) The CRM 3 sales process waited until all tasks in a stage was completed before proceeding to the next stage. It also updated the probability of a sale. I can't find this option in CRM 4. Do I really have to create a "(wait for activity to complete OR wait for activity to be cancelled)" for every activity and add a "sett field 'probability' to n%'" in every stage? What happends if the user deletes the activity? Will the whole workflow become corrupted/defunc? 4) Is there a way to skip a step in the workflow?         • MSCRMAsyncService eating up all CPU performance Hi, We now have implemented a couple of single server/processor 4.0 installations. But often (on 64bit OS) we see MSCRMAsyncService eating up all CPU and a lot of memory from time to time; making working with CRM impossible.         • Oppertunity recalculate and estimated revenue issue I have CRM 3.0 and the oppertunity records for booking records for our jobs. Currently we've been attaching them to training courses and automatically having the fee copied into the est revenue field. I'd been ignoring the system or manula calculation option. However I'd noticed that choosing system calculated and clicking recalculate or closing and opening the record was wiping my previous est revenue figure. I've gathered that this function looks at any "products" associated with the booking and places that value in the est rev field.         • Sending CRM email when outlook has multiple accounts Here is my setup: I have an outlook user (2003) with an exchange (also 2003) account and a pop3 account in their profile. The exchange account is the default account. CRM (ver 4) is set to use outlook as the sender. When email is sent from the CRM web interface it goes out over the exchange account, I need it to go over the POP3 account. If I try this with just the POP3 account it works with out problems, do I have to change the default account to the POP3 account? Is there a work around to tell the CRM which outlook account to use?         • crm outlook client cant go back online I have one outlook client from a CRM 3 to CRM 4 upgrade that was successfully upgraded. The client is an offline client and configured for syncing. The installation and configuration of the outlook client was successful, however, when i went offline for the first time, I could not go back online, and havent been able to get back online since. I get an error message that reads: The Microsoft CRM command bar could not be loaded into Microsoft Outlook. Restart Microsoft Outlook and try again. HR=0x800a01a8. Context=.         • In Account Overview report, increase display of Contacts from 10 to Hi all, I am making a custom version of the Account Overview report and, among other changes, increasing the number of Contacts displayed from 10 to 20. This is the code that I found that does it: "=IIF(Fields!fullname.Value = "(Limited to 10 contacts) - - ",ReportItems!txtlimited10con.Value,Fields!fullname.Value)" Can anyone please tell me how to change it to do what I want? If I change the 10s to 20s and I build I get this error message: "The value expression for the textbox 'txtAddcontacts' refers to the report item 'txtlimited20con'. Report item expressions can only refer to other report items within the same grouping scope or a containing grouping scope." I couldn't find much help for ReportItems.         • Outlook Client for MSCRM 4.0 with Multi-tenancy We are experiencing an interesting issue when setting up multiple organizations in MS CRM 4.0 with the Outlook Client. If you are in the <default> instance everything is fine, BUT if you are in another organization you can not setup the outlook client. The only way that we have found to accomplish this is to have the user in the <default> organization and the disable them and have them in their organization then everything works. Question: Pretend there are customers who have emails that don't work anymore. It means that when i try to send emails to them, the server replies that such an email doesn't exist anymore.         • "an unknown error has occurred. retry the action" When going offline? I searched the NG before posting, so here goes.... We have a user that is having a problem with going offline with CRM 3.0 running with Office 2007 Pro, on XP Pro. I just installed this yesterday for him while he was in the office, and he was able to go online, and offline with no problems, multiple times. Now he is home, and cannot go offline, while working through the VPN? he is able to use CRM through the Outlook Client, but when he clicks the "go offline" button, he get the "an unknown error has occurred. retry the action" error.
