Which conatcts are synced is controlled by the definition of the My Contacts
local data group that each user will see in the CRM Outlook client (CRM menu,
Local Data).

By default it is the contacts the user owns, but this can be changed

One way we've done it is have a separate Marketing List for each user, into
which they add the contacts they want to sync. Then change the Local Data
group to be the contacts within the respective Marketing List

Dear all,
I'm relatively new to MS CRM, so I hope that this isn't a stupid question,
but I'm also looking at the Outlook client with the aim of installing it.
Our sales reps have got loads of contacts (I've been told to take into
account amounts in the thousands). The current filters are Parent Downloaded
= true OR Owner = Current User and Status = Active.
I assume that Parent Downloaded means the Account with which the contact is
associated.
I'd be interested to hear of any extra criteria that any of you have applied
to this filter, because I can't think of any more offhand. OR, is there any
other way to limit the contacts that are downloaded?

Hmmm... The idea's interesting thanks. I don't know if we can do that, but
that also gives me the idea of thinking around the possibilities of how to
reorganise the contacts...

Any ideas on how to get the company field populated in the outlook contacts?
