    - Customizing the leads for Hi there!!! Can anyone help me with info on how to customize teh leads form, for example. I do not need the textboxes on the Administration tab. Now I delete them. How do I persist the changes. When I add a new lead, the textboxes are still there. I know how to add a new field on the server. When I export the XML customization file, it executes. But when I import it again, it give "constraint" errors. To import the xml file you have to say "yes" when it want to overwrite your DB. But I cant see that I have lost data. Please help!!!!     - Security by Field/Tab I didnt see a way to do this but maybe I missed it.. In our "Cases" area we have blocks of time that should be modified only by the accounting team. Maybe this is in contracts and I havent played with it, but I basically added an integer field called Time and would like it so only the VP role (for example) can modify it.     - MSCRM & Exchange 2003 Hi, IG.PDF on the MSCRM 1.2 documentation CD says, that MSCRM may coexist with an Exchange 2003 on the same machine, but this isn't recommended. Why would that be? I have precisely the same deployment scenario ahead of me! I am running a Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition box. This machine has Exchange 2003, Sharepoint Portal Server 2003, SQL Server 2000 (sp3) installed on it. I need to run MSCRM v1.2 on the same machine. This box is also my Domain Controller.     - Role vs Biz Unit viewing permissions on accts Top level Biz unit is called National under it are central, east and southwest. Each of the child bizunits have members and the National has others. Accounts are assigned based on the territory ( biz unit). The problem is this : the acct is assigned to the east biz,the user is in the East BU, BUT he can flip his view to see ALL accts even at a national level.     - CDF - activity, opportunities, quotes I've been loading most entities in a MS-CRM database using CDF. In general the test environment consists on 5-30,000 records for the main entities. A few observations: Performance for especially Products, Opportunities, Qutes and QuoteDetails was pretty bad until I added a number of indexes to the CDF-tables (and ran Update Statistics..) Some issues: Activity: calculation of duration does not like start- or end-times at midnight (00:00:00). Looks like a bug in the XML generator. Workaround: change th times with a few minutes. Activity: It looks like CDF closes a number of old appointments (but not email). The rule, if any, is not clear, but the CDF_Activity there are marked as open. Activities that thus are marked as completed by CDF to not have an close-date in MS-CRM. On the other hand, activities, which in CDF are converted as closed, gives an application error when you try to open them in MS-CRM. For open Activities, scheduled start, end and duration aresupplied. For closed Activities, actual start, end and duration are supplied. Maybe schduled information also should be supllied for closed Activities? Opportunity: Hasn't found a way to convert additional contacts associated with an opportunity? Quote: Even though I convert quotes as open (statecode = 1 (active) and statuscode = 2 (in progress)) and myself as the owner, the quote is read-only, and I'll have to make a new revision in order to change it?     - SFO Question ... Hi there! Quite often the Outlook menu buttons "New CRM Contact", "New CRM Task", New CRM Appointment" or some of them, do not function. Is this happening to any of you? I have noticed that, whenever this happens, when I go offline, the CRM cannot syncronise the corresponding items to the button that is inactive.     - Emails marked as SPAM (a solution perhaps?) There have been discussions about how MS CRM's emails are often marked as SPAM . We just rolled out MS CRM and are coming across this very problem ourselves. I thought it was because of the GUID, but in at least one case, the primary reason for it to be qualified as SPAM is due to the number of spaces that the system includes before the GUID. Here is the header from a customer who uses SPAM Assassin. X-UDCOM-MailScanner-SpamCheck: spam, SpamAssassin (score=5.712, required 4, BAYES_01 -1.52, HTML_MESSAGE 0.10, MISSING_OUTLOOK_NAME 0.10, NO_REAL_NAME 0.16, RCVD_IN_SORBS 0.10, SUBJ_HAS_SPACES 4.10, SUBJ_HAS_UNIQ_ID 2.68) The extra spaces counts for 4.10, while the GUID counts for 2.68. If the GUID was included without the numerous spaces, I think it would have passed the filter. I presume there is no way to remove these extra spaces?     - Newbie configuration help I have installed CRM 1.2 on a SMS2003 Premium Server and I'm having the problem of creating users as well as getting the "You are not authorized to view this page" within IE on companyweb. The exact message I receive when I go into CRM Deployment Manager's User Manager is: "The server localhost is not responding. This might happen if it is currently unavailable, it is not a Microsoft CRM server, or you do not have sufficient privileges to run User Manager. For more information, contact your system administrator" Unfortunately, I am the system administrator and cannot turn to myself for the fix. I am logged into the CRM server as administrator.     - confguring lead routing Hi, I have installed Microsft crm 1.2 on my sandbox with "Adventure Works Cycle" demo license. I want to check out lead routing feature but I can not find anything related to that. I searched the web and could not find any document related to lead routing. All the site mention it as a feature avaialable with Microsoft CRM Sales professional but none of them tells how to configure the same. My License Manager shows that I have 6 "suite Professional" licenses so I believe I should be able to configure lead routing on my system.     - cannot delete business unit? Hi, I am using microsoft CRM 1.2 with demo license of Adventure works Cycle. Is there any way to delete a "Business Unit". I go to Settings -> Business Unit Settings -> Security Roles -> Business Management. The delete option for "Business Unit" and "User" is disabled there. I searched in groups and found a few discussion about deleting users which say that it is not allowed to delete mscrm users. However I did not find any reference about deletion of "Business Unit". The user guide that comes with the installation shows steps to delete a "Business Unit", so i presume it must be possible..
