emails to more than one person in crm
When we send a CRM email the To: menu only looks at the
Outlook(email address book) contact folders. I know how
to add additional contact folders(email address book) to
choose from in Outlook by checking the "show this folder
as outlook email address book" in the properties of the
contact folder. I would like to know if that can be done

KDC Errors for CRM server

Iam getting KDC error 11 in the event log on my DC. The error is DS_SERVICE_PRINCIPAL duplicate etc.. etc
I used ldp.exe to search for the host and these are the results :
1 Windows 2003 server has CRM server + SQL serve
expansion.ceeed.umd.edu = MS CRM serve
CEEE MS CRM = user account that I created to run the SQL service

Reposting: Could Really use some help. - CRM 1.2 Installation Error 800700B7 unable to Configure Web Services
Hi, I have followed the steps and pre-requisites in the Installation guide,
however, every time I have tried to install the productl, I get a message
stating "Setup was unable to install CRM Server. Setup was unable to
configure the Web Services that are using ASP.NET. Cannot create a file
when that file already exists (800700B7).
Can somebody please help me with this? I am unable to use the product
because of this error, as the installation does not complete all of the
necessary steps.
Platform is - 2 servers CRM on Win 2003 Advanced Server, DB and AD on Win
2003 Small Business Server

KDC Errors after installation
All,
I've twice installed MSCRM 1.2 on SBS2003 & had the same problems in both
instances... would appreicate any comments.
103 Critical events in the system log yesterday all with reference - KDC -
Event ID 11
'There are multiple accounts with name host/sbs.<domain>.local of type
DS_SERVICE_PRINCIPAL_NAME.'
There are other recurring errors I've seen in both installs but this
one is the most prominent.
Have reviewed the kb which references a procedure on W2K server.
Any ideas appreicated.

cloning forms
Hi,
I come to MS CRM from the S**b*l world. If I am creating
a vertical app that will use the same schemas for
different purposes, I might need two different accounts
forms, In the other app, we just clone the forms (applets
in that world) and modify - then use security to decide
who gets what. In MS CRM, do I make a copy of the ASP
file, create a new ASP page and link it in, or what?
Sorry if this is a bit vague - I am trying to make a quick
demo up, and cannot find the nswer easily in the doc.

Reports using HTTPS
Hi,
My CRM reports run fine when logged into the site using
HTTP but with HTTPS I get the "Check Licenses.. " Error.
Anyone know how I can get the reports to run over SSL -
is there a way to manually install the Crystal Viewer on

MICROSOFT CRM URL
I recently encountered an error when trying to launch the Microsoft CRM
Outlook Client. Basically just navigating to any of the crm folder
structure caused an error to occur.
Per documented sources, I've removed and readded the COM addin but to no
avail. I removed the CRM Outlook Client completely and when trying to
install it now, cannot get pass the URL for the server. Any URL, whether it
is the qualified or partial or even the machine name will fail and give me
the following error:
"setup was unable to find an instance of the Microsoft CRM Server
components."
The IIS is setup with 3 host headers. crm, crm.domain.com and crmtest
(machinename).
Has anyone run into this before?

I was looking into how the picklists are rendered and they are tables, not
controls. The table is shown when the button is pressed. Could you

crm outlook client
I removed the client from add/remove programs. I deleted
the Microsoft CRM folder and Microsoft SQL folders from
program files. I reinstalled the client - said it was
successful, but when I open outlook all I get is a
Microsoft CRM folder with 2 subfolders - custom forms and
deleted items. Does anyone know what happened here? How
do I get the accounts, contacts, ect. subfolders back?

Crystal Reports Licenses
I'm getting an error when I go to Reports. The error
indicates that I should check to make sure I have enough
Crystal Reports' Licenses.
I have added a few users since I last ran a report, but
now I've deleted a few users, and I still get the error.
How can I check how many licenses I have, and how many
I'm using? How can I setup users to be CRM users, but
not Crystal Report license users? Is that possible, I
think so because my System Admin told me we have 12-15
CRM licenses but only 5 Crystal Licenses.

We are unable to route emails into CRM. Outgoing emails
from CRM work fine but a reply always ends up in Outlook
instead of CRM. We are trying to use CRM for helpdesk
functionality. All the steps mentioned on page 73, 191 and 186
of the implementation guide were followed but even then we
are unable to figure out the problem.
We want all emails, to say support@abc.com, to be routed
into CRM instead of Outlook. Is Exchange 2003 required or the email
router works with Exchange 2000 ?

How To Import Blank Fields into Picklist Fields
Hi All,
I'm importing Contacts using the simple method (tools-
import-contacts-from file...).
Everything is going well except for little thing: I can't
seem to import blank data values as blanks. If I map the
blank data value to "Default Value", then "Default Value"
is literally imported (without the quotes).
Do I need to use the Data Migration Framework to get this
functionality? I don't want to go there, because I'm 96%
completed doing it the simple way.
Any suggestions?

I have set-up a sales process w/ sales stages. When I use
it, the default sales stage is the last entry in my sales
process. I'm expecting the first entry? This is giving me

Add random objects to view
Is it possible in any way, with any tool (that means at all...), to

Multiple activities
Hi!
Have anyone come across a tool that can create activities for more
than one object at once?
I would like to use something like "Advanced find" to select the
accounts or contacts, and then create one activity with all these
objetcs attached. When your'e attaching one by one from the activity
form, only the names are the selectabnle field.

Changing Manager for a User
In the User Guide for version 1.2 it says on page 15:

to move them from one group to another by simply changing the name of the

association with the new manager, and automatically moves the user into the

I have not been able to repeat this behavior. The Business Unit does not
change for the user when I change Manager (Menu: Actions - Change Manager).
I need to change the Business Unit manually.
Am I doing anything wrong? Is there special setup requirements needed to get
this to work?
I also noticed that the roles are deleted when the Business Unit changes. Is
this intended behavior, or is it a bug?

Escalation and background Workflows
Does MSCRM have an escalation feature? Is there a way to
make workflows run in the background without user
intervention? For example, a case not meeting its target

I have some things that I would like CRM to do. Does anyone have any ideas
as to how they can be achieved?
1: When I add a filter to a report, there seems to be no way of saving that
filter so each time I go in, I have to reenter the fields and values. Is
there a way of saving this?
2: Can default share permissions be attached to records depending on who
created them? For example, user "A" creates a record and automatically users
"B" & "C" can share it. If "B" creates a record, only "C" has a share. Is it
possible to also have a generic default for shares if this is not possible?
3: When looking at an accounts or contacts list (ie not actually opened a
record), is it possible to have a right mouse click to go straight to an
activity for a record rather than opening it (one click only).

specific selection is made from a custom field pick list (for an
existing lead record that is assigned to a user and does not require a

An mscrm.pst already exists at location
Hello fello MSCRMers. I uninstalled the Outlook CRM Client and tried to
reinstall. The following message showed up:
"An MSCRM.PST already exists at that location 'C:\Documents and
Settings\user\local settings\application data\mscrm.pst. To continue,
cancel setup, ....
There is no MSCRM.PST file in that location. I've searched the entire drive
but nothing has been found.

Scribe Migrate - CRM 2 CRM
I am planning to do a reinstall on our CRM server and have purchased Scribe
(didn't come in till JUST now), and was planning to do this over the
weekend. I have a test environment and want to try it here before I do this
on our production. However this isn't as simple as I thought.
I know, I know, read the manual, etc, etc etc. But its near critical that I
get this production reinstalled, and I'd rather not work straight through a
weekend just to learn this thing.
Anways, can anyone give me the basic overview of this? Does this take hours
just to create the migration setup? For some reason I had assumed it would
have some sort of wizard and witin minutes it would migrate.........*shrug*?
Do I have to manually assign each migration path for each table?! What
should I read first?

How do you fix Crystal after recovering CRM 1.0 ?
Note: We're upgrading hardware for our CRM production implementation. The
old hardware is being used as part of our backout plan - thus the reason for
using different names for the DB and App server
Problem:
I've restored the CRM 1.0 databases to the new DB server.
I've installed the CRM Application on a new App server
(The original DB and App servers are shutdown).
The CRM application works except for the Crystal Reporting function. On the
new App server, in checking the Crystal APS configuratino on the new app
server, it states that the APS belongs to the old app server. Now - what do
I have to do to get the APS registered to the new app server? (The old app
server will not be used again).

When trying to add items to a price list, a product is
selected from the list and then when attempting to enter
a value in the UNIT field, a message appears: "You need

CRM on a Stand Alone box!- Problems
Hi All,
I have the following installed on the same box
Windows server 2003 as the Domain Controller
Exchange server 2003
MS CRM 1.2
Everything works fine if I have my computer connected to a network. But I
have problems( Lots of error messages in the event log) if my network
connection is unplugged. It takes me 10-15 minutes to shut down/ start my
box. Has anyone experienced these problems.
Another interesting point is that the following services do not start
automatically ( although it is set to automatic).
MS CRM Security service
Crystal APS service.
I understand that I have put a lot of questions out there. I would really
appreciate any help in this matter.

We get an error when we convert leads from CRM Outlook,
however this function works fine we work directly from
the web interface.
