    - Installing 1.2 and getting SQL error... Help! I am trying to install 1.2, but I cannot seem to get around it trying to create the CRM databases. I am installing on a 2003 Server and my SQL 2000 is running on 2000 Server. During the installation wizard I am able to connect to the SQL server and there is seems to be no difference on which account I setup, local, Domain, etc. The error occurs as soon as the installation starts and is as follows: Setup was unable to install Microsoft CRM Server. Setup was unable to create the Microsoft CRM databases. Failed to run script:00 - create mscrm.sql. HRESULT:80040E14 Unknown error. (80040E14) I don't think it matters, but this server had 1.0 installed on it and the databases for the installation were created to this same server just fine. I have uninstalled that version and deleted those databases since that installation did not work on 2003 Server. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.     - Crystal Report Launch 2 (sorry to repost this thread, but this was too old and I got no respones!) Can anyone explain this better? I can't find any documentation about this.........and techknowledge seems to be useless: http://www.greatplains.com/TechKnowledge/techknowledge.asp?print=true&id=28987&code=7842 can anyone show an example? I tried looking at the url of a report (almost a mile long!) and I indeed saw the paramters I put, but when I try to reopen that url in another browser I get this error: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.     - can not send email with an image i wanted to send an email to multiple contacts with an image that can be seen at the body part of the email. so i created an email template but could not add the image file to the body of the email. since i could not attach the file, i opened the image file with internet explorer and i drag and dropped the image on the email template. it looked all right. the image can be seen on the template. but when i sent it. the recipient could see no image but the red x sign. any solution for sending this type of image based emails from crm? regards, orkun Tag: CRM client manual removal or over the top install Tag: 12606

    - Post CallOut and credentials Hello, We want to create a post callout for an activity phone call. In the post callout code we want to update a custom field called CFSlastphonecall on the account record that is associated with the activity phone call. The question that I have is how do we make sure that we are using the users credential infomation to update the account record. Normally the credential code I use to initialize the BizMerchant and User objects is like the following: // BizMerchant proxy object Microsoft.CRM.Proxy.BizMerchant merchant = new Microsoft.CRM.Proxy.BizMerchant (); merchant.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials; merchant.Url = strDir + "BizMerchant.srf"; Microsoft.CRM.Proxy.CUserAuth userAuth = bizUser.WhoAmI(); But since this is running in COM+, the default credentials are the user that we configured in the com+ initailization settings, in this case (just to test out post call outs) we used our CRM Admin account. But if we do this then the account record that gets updated will have the lastmodified by field set to the crm admin account and not user who updated and saved the phone call activity.     - Microsoft Search Hi, I posted this in SQL newsgroup and got a suggestion of turning off MS Search; however, I wanted to make sure it's not needed by CRM before turning it off. I'm running 1.2 on a box with W2k3 Ent, SQL 2k, and Ex2k3. The past week I started noticing the hard drive and DVD-ROM lights lit up every sec nonstop. It just goes on forever. When I checked EV I found that MS Search was running every 15 minutes lasting 6 seconds each time. Is MS Search needed by CRM? I don't have anything else running on SQL except for CRM.     - Clone Addon not working with CRM 1.2 Attached is an add-on we were using with CRM 1.0 to enable the easy cloning of records. I can't get it to work with v1.2. Hopefully someone can look at it and tell me what's wrong. We clone account records mostly. The debugging I have done, indicates a duplicate record error when the create account routine is called. Maybe something to do with the address1 or address2 records linked to the account record???     - Data Migration from MS CRM to MS CRM?!? Hi all, I have still the same problem and I still can't find a solution... Situation: - We worked with the sample database "Adventure Works Cycle" - Since Monday we have a new licence key that works only with our company name Questions: 1) How can I change the company name to get the key work? (I think this isn't possible...) Second Possibility: I installed the MS CRM Professional 1.2 (German) again with the right company name. But then the existing database cannot be connected, because it belongs to the Adventure Works Cycle company. 2) How can I connect the database with the new company? 3) Or how can I 'migrate' the existing MS CRM database to the new MS CRM database? I read parts of the DMT Guide... I could not believe that I have to do all of these complex steps to migrate data from CRM to CMR!?!? I only want to register MS CMR! Nothing else... What we have found is that in the ActivityPartyBase table for these activities, instead of a few entries for the particular ActivityId, there are over 15,000 entries each with the same ActivityId but different ActivityPartyId values. It seems that the inability to open the activity in CRM is due to all those records in ActivityPartyBase. I fill in products, quanities, recalculate values and now I want to print and fax the quote to the customer... If I hit the print button on the quote, it prints all info from each of the tabs on the account. It does not refer to the products or quantities. If I go to the product level, hit the print (on the individual window, not the main window) button, it prints the product(s) chosen, price per unit, quantity and extended amount for products that are on that screen (no write in products) and no information about the customer. MS CRM stores the currency on the Organization level and not on the Business Unit level, which essentially prevents our use of it. (1) Any suggestions for a way to overcome this problem (besides "translating" the EU, EMEA and US pricelist to one currency, e.g. dollars, or waiting for CRM 2.0) ? (2) I noticed that the database schema contains "Organization ID" for all basic tables. This probably means that multiple organizations can run on the same CRM server.     - Data Migration Framework failed Hi, I tried to use the DMF to migrate simple data in the CRM. But it failed. It is a very simple scenario. I have a csv-File with only an AccountNumber and Name. I tried different cases. First the one above but it failed because the AccountID can not be NULL in the CDF database. Then I generate my own IDs but still no effect. So I tried to set the AccountID as identy row but again no success. Then I added a forth column in my source csv-file which has the OwningUserName in it. I fired the stored procedure to map the users. But the migration still won´t work. I get the data in the CDF Database but when I run the migration tool all completed with no errors but I have no data in my account table in the mscrm database. What is my fault? I tried this for such a long time but no success. Hope someone can help me. There are some spread sheets to do the mapping provided by Mircosoft but they need to be revised. I have decided to go one step further and Ive managed to capture roughly what the problem looks like in the "message" side right pane so its easier to understand the problem. I need to manually uninstall the CRM client for outlook.
The user profile that was used during installation has
been overwritten with another profile, so i cannot use the
add remove program files uninstaller. I cannot reinstall
over the top as the app is already on the machine and it
won't let me.

How can i manually remove the client or force it to
install again over the top.
