Hello all..

When i send an email regarding a particular LEAD (or regarding anything
else) and then the person i sent the email to responds and talks about some
other issue say a totally different LEAD CRM already tracks this email and
puts in the regarding field the original LEAD i.e. whatever I put as
regarding from the original email. I would like to change the regarding
field as this is causing HUGE problems for me e.g.

I email an AGENT regarding a lead (10 emails back and forth are sent
regarding a single LEAD (all the regarding fields are the same as the
original email) - GREAT. But then 2 weeks later the agent (not having my
email\contact details on file) uses my last sent email and clicks reply to
me to talk about something TOTALLY different i.e. another lead or case or
opportunity but now i cannot change the regarding lead because CRM
automatically links it that that original lead.

And i cannot go around telling people to not do this, CRM should accomodate.

Hope someone has a practical solution.

TIA,

TC

I have a solution, but it's a little painful. We are looking to improve
this situation in a future release.

In Outlook, you can repromote the received email. Find the email in the
main Outlook window and click the 'Track in CRM' button from the CRM
toolbar. This will create a 2nd email activity in CRM for this email. You
can then set whatever regarding value you desire. A cleanup step if you
want to do it is to delete the original email activity created from CRM.
