I have been requesting a CRM license every day for the past couple of weeks
from my Action Pack, and I have not gotten anything yet. Has anyone gotten a
usable license key from their Action Pack code?

Does it take this long if you are selling the product to get a license to
activate your customers?

Can you actually get more CRM Licenses with the Action Pack?

If so how do you do this?

The Action Pack CRM comes with a 8.5x11 sheet of instructions with a heading
in the center Important and Microsoft Business Solutions CRM stacked on the
left side. I provides a page of instructions on supplying your Company Name,
Contact Name, Email Address, Street Address city, State, Zip Telephone and
Fax numbers. At the bottom is a 15 character Activation Serial Number which
is to be included. The information is emailed to MBSorder@microsoft.com and
in 5 - 7 business days. Plan on it taking the entire 5 - 7 days. I received
an email with a code to allow 5 users. All the license information with the
action pack talks about 10 client licenses for all supplied applications,
but I think the people that wrote that paperwork did not even know Microsoft
had a CRM product so it may not really mean that CRM is suppose to have 10
client licenses.

These issues are most likely related to an internal issue with MS about CRM
and SBS2003 in general. SBS2003 shipped in the Action Pack is a Beta/RC
version, not a final. When SBS2003 goes GM, expect the full 10 user
version. As for CRM, this is probably related to MS still integrating White
Plains / MBS fully into it's other programs. Alot of industry news related
to MS and CRM indicate that MS is still integrating CRM into it's
strategies, especially the SMB market that the Action Pack targets. Expect
more happenings in the future, and I personally recommend talking to any rep
that will listen about the need for the Professional Suite version of CRM
for SMB markets. Partners who are using the Action Pack need a very
integrated, (relatively) easy to setup package to handle everything from CRM
to product management, and the Pro version of CRM has enough of these
ancillary features (Like Invoicing) to make it very attractive for smaller
partners, even if it ends up being an upgrade scheme attached on top of the
Action Pack. (IE, pay $xx for the Action Pack and the 5/10 usr Std CRM,
then $xx for the upgrade to 5/10usr Pro CRM)

Jim,

You can "upgrade" the licenses from std to pro for the CRM that is
distributed via Action Pack and to MS Partners. You just need to go through
a CRM partner to do it.
