    - CRM 3.0 and CRM 4.0 Dear All, We were implementing MSCRM for a very protential CRM customer (Education). Even they haven't signed the contract but we already started developing on the CRM 3.0, 3 weeks ago. A lot of customisation + .NET developing required on the version 3 but now we knew that we're reinventing the wheels as some of them will be already built in the V4 which one will be realease very soon (Q1-2008?) If we place order to MS now, we will receive the V4 earlier than Q1-2008, but it is V4, not V3 So now we decided moving the developing on V4 directly because no guarantee what we were building V3 will work with V4? But we don't have the real V4 installation CD + license now. We also requested the V4 trial license from MS Vietnam but they can't give to us. We downloaded the V4 R0 VPC image from the MS website and that ALL we have about the V4. My questions are: 1. Can we do customise on the V4 R0 VPC image and then we migrate the customisation from the VPC image to the real CRM Server machine whenever we receive the real V4 + license from MS? 2. Because we have done ~ 30% amount of customisation. So how can we migrate the customisation has been done on the V3 to the V4 R0 VPC image? Looking forward to your answers.     - CRM Router - E-mail from pop3 connector sbs server - Happy thanksgiving- !! All done eating tofurkey and I can't help but think about a CRM problem that I can't figur out. Problem is the CRM exchange account is crm@server.local. If I route e-mail to it from matt@server.local (with matt@server.local in the e-mail TO field) it post it to the CRM server. If I route e-mail to it (of course through a rule etc) with matt@domainname.com it just disapears. It goes to the mailbox CRM@server.local but then is deleted. I have a queue with matt@domainname.com. It appears that the server can ONLY PROCESS @SERVER.LOCAL e-mail. Not good becaus all the real incomings are from a pop3 connector to the @domainname.com.     - Issue for CRM 3.0 and Outllook 2007 Hi, I was able to access CRM 3.0 from Outlook 2007. It installs on Vista. I haved decided to modify selection for contact synchronisation in "local Data". I had the list and when I have selected the good choice, I had this message in French: "une erreur s'est produite..." - translation in English: "error, contact your adminsitrator". After this message, I was not able to access any data from CRM in Outlook. It's OK to acces with IE. I installed Roll up 2, uninstall and reinstall again, I have always the same message.     - Installing CRM 3.0 as default Administrator account? Hi We've been warned against installing CRM 3.0 using the default domain Administrator account by Microsoft CRM partner. Instead it has been suggested to install CRM 3.0 using a new user called crmadmin with domain administratrion rights. I understand that this allows you to connecto to CRM without a user necessarily being in AD. 1. When accessing the CRM Web Service, you need to impersonate a user through network credentials [e.g. myService.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("PrivUserName","PrivUserPassword","PrivUserDomain")]. How is this possible with an external user? 2. I have a website with an enquiry form. Details entered in this form will be pushed through as Leads. From what I understand, "external users" cannot own records so how is this achieved without impersonation? 2a. Using this same example, if I personate a user with a valid CAL (default System Administrator account for example) and I have all leads entered through the website using this account, is this within the scope of the "External Connector" licence?     - Publishing CRM 3.0 via gPO on Vista with UAC enabled Dear all, I am experiencing problems when publishing the CRM 3.0 client to a non-admin user on a Vista machine with UAC enabled. It seems to be when publishing the application via gPO to the add\remove program list the first steps of the installation are no problem. But after the environment diagnostics wizard the installations stops with the following errors: No Outlook Profile present Not a domain user Not a CRM user After investigation we discovered that the installation starts under the local system account. This is strange behavior because the logged on non-admin user is executing the installation. Publishing the client on a Windows XP machine is not a problem, the installation runs fine without any problems. Using the same installation sequence on a Vista machine with UAC enabled is not possible. Anybody any ideas. Microsoft Support???? How can I bypass the UAC on a Vista based machine in order to install CRM 3.0 with elevated privileges and without local admin rights?     - Report parameter Error Hi all, one of our users has a problem where she cant run any reports at all. She can see them OK and tryb to run but thay all come back with the same error - The property 'nullable' of report parameter 'CRM_Locale' is set to false. However, the corresponding parameter (default) value is null or contains an empty string. (rsProcessingError). This does noot effect any other users so uit cant be a server side setting.     - Outlook Client and Headers only option After installing CRM Outlook Client 3.0 the "Headers only" option in Outlook does not work. Especially users connected by a small modem-line report that all mails are downloaded completely instead of only downloading the headers.     - Laptop client in CRM 4.0 RC0 VPC Hi! How do I enable the laptop client in the new RC0 VPC for CRM 4.0? According to the VPC specification the laptop client should be included, but I am not able to get it to work. It seems that it is the desktop client that is installed by default, since changing the "lightclient" registry value does not work. When trying to uninstall the outlook client and reinstall it as the laptop client, there are a lot of error messages about missing files. Thank you!     - Saving new address records in CRM 3.0 Greetings! We have an issue with saving new address records. It seems as though if we create an account or contact and during that initial setup, create the primary address, all seems to be well. The address is saved and can be edited. If only account/contact information is filled out on the initial account or contact form (leaving the below address information blank), and then we save that and then try to add an address, it never saves the information you place in the textfields. We just tried installing Rollup 2, and that didn't help. Has anyone else had this issue? We run events so have created to entities Events and delegates(who attend an event) WHat i need to know is when you are in and event how can you search for a delegate.     - Create/Print functionality for more entities Creating documents directly from entity-records in CRM 3.0 was quite a big problem, in CRM 4.0 MS solved this for a few entities such as Quotes with a default print option. I Would like to know if it is possible to create such a functionality for other entities such as order or invoice.     - Outgoing email using Exchange or another SMTP server Hi all I have Exchange 2007 in my organisation in the same domain as my CRM server. We also have an Exchange 2003 server in a seperate forest with a bi-directional trust to the original forest (which seem to be functioing nicely). Ideally I would like to be able to set up the email router on the 2003 machine and get it to handle the incoming email on the Exchange 2007 box. My understadning is that I just need to install the router on the Exchange 2003 box, however I am unclear about a couple of details on this. Can I confirm a couple of things: when I put in an xchange mailbox to use, this needs t be a mailbox in the 2003 domain. I thinnk I am supposed to run the service under a domain account from the 2003 domain, and then put the account into the PrivUserGroup, However the PrivUserGroup is in another domain and so i can't do this. Is three any other routing that i need to set up? If I cannot do this, can I get outgoing email to work for Exchange simply by putting the SPTP details in for my Exchange server? if so which server do I give it? the CA, the hub or the edge server? i was guessing at the hub.     - Documenting Customizations I have been looking around for an easy way to pull our customizations information out of 3.0 in some organized fashion so we can see all the changes we've made without sorting through a huge xml document or 100 different entity change documents.     - Object Expected on vanilla build mapping attributes between entities Hi. Have a weird problem that google has never seen. Hope someone can shed some light on it: Have vanilla build CRM3 image (vmware) with sql2005. Do this: 1. Create a vanilla entity (called Test in this instance) and save it 2. Create a parental relationship to the contact entity with this entity as a child of contact 3. Optionally (but I did it) create an attribute of the test entity to receive the lastname value from the contact entity 4. Save and publish test entity 5. Publish contact entity (just in case) 6. Go back into test entity and open relationship between test entity and contact entity 7. Select mapping section 8. Press the new button to create a new mapping At this point I get a script error Line 1 Char 1 Object Expected Code 0 then a url that points (ultimately) to mappingList.aspx? mappingid=<GUID> ----------------------------- Now the interesting thing is that I have another virtual image built by a colleague that works fine. My initial thinking was a browser issue but I can browse from the broken image to the working image and run the above process without error. I've tried copying the customisations over 'just in case' but that makes no difference. Further investigation shows that my physical test box I use as a sandpit also has this same issue so I can only conclude that I am doing something wrong in installing CRM. I have a large site that also has this issue but in every other respect things are fine. The site has been running fine for months without issue. Can ANYONE save my sanity and earn themselves a pint along with my undying gratitude and shed some light on this. I'm down to stupid things like - I'm left handed so my mouse buttons are back-to-front. It must be something that I'm doing differently to everyone else but I can't see what it is. Hi,

we have the phenomenon in CRM 3.0 that some notes disappear and then
reappear which were entered at some accounts.

I now wanted to get all the notes out of the SQL-db but cannot
allocate them to the account or other entities they belong to.

Does anyone know whether and how I can achieve this in SQL?
