    - Where did the time go on Created On and Modified On? In CRM 3.0 when you viewed the properties of a record you would see the Created On and Modified On Date AND TIME.     - Access MSCRM web services from non >NET application Hi all: Does anyone out there have any experience with connecting to the MSCRM web services from a non .NET application? I am working with 2 ISVs who are trying to connect to the web services from Java. The product team said that connecting via GET is a non-no, and I have connected via JavaScript and a POST call, but that required knowing the entire SOAP message before the call is made....I followed Arash's example sometime ago and pulled the SOAP call from the MSCRM log files to build the message shown below...     - Moving CRM 4 database to new SQL server? Hi! I'm trying to move the "OrgName_MSCRM" and the MSCRM_CONFIG to a new SQL server. This is how I go: - Disable Organization in Deployment Manager. - Copy Databases to the new server. - Attach databases at new server. - Edit Organization in Deploment Manager. - Wizard completes successfully. Then I want to remove the databases from the old SQL server to free up the diskspace. But when I detach the databases my CRM goes down. It says that the computer account "DOMAIN\COMPUTER$" does not have rights to the database. I have added the accounts that I found on the old server to the new. Do I have to change in the security on the databases to? Someone who has moved them successfully this way?     - Perfect storm of a CRM upgrade I've just completed what, I believe, amounts to the perfect storm of an upgrade. The client was moving from SBS 2003 (not R2) on a virtual machine to a physical Windows 2003 64 bit server. They were also upgrading CRM3 SBS to CRM4 Professional. As SBS was running SQL 2000 and CRM3 does not run on 64 bit machines the database couldn't be easily moved from one to the other. So we have an upgrade, migration across domains and a move to 64 bit. The eventual path to success was the following: 1) Upgrade SQL 2000 to 2005 2) Upgrade CRM3 to CRM4 on the SBS virtual machine 3) Backup the database and transfer it to the new 64 bit server 4) Install CRM4 on the 64 bit server 5) Use deployment manager to attach the old database Points of note: * You can upgrade SBS SQL 2000 to 2005 but you may need to completely reinstall SRS as in my case the discs simply would not allow for SRS to be upgraded * If you get "Malformed XML Found in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Saved Queries" this could be an issue with the saved queries table but it could also be a permissions issue. In my case the user who had installed CRM was not the domain administrator. Upgrading as the domain admin did not cut it. Promoting the original user to a domain admin and upgrading did the trick * If you get "Action Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Server.InstallConfigDatabaseAction failed. Invalid user name. Failed to validate username for given domain. Only existing domain usernames and email addresses are allow" then try unplugging the network once the required components are installed. This cleared the error for me * On a 64 bit box, make sure you are running IIS in 64 bit mode and therefore ASP.Net is registered in 64 bit mode. If not, CRM will get past the pre-checks, start installing and then bomb out leaving a mess which cannot be repaired, uninstalled or installed over * The deployment manager can be used to add an organisation with the Professional license. It simply swaps out the default database for the new one and maps the users as usual (although, I again hit an issue with the setup user being someone other than domain admin. The error was "At least the setup user needs to be mapped before this organization can be imported".     - Retrieving other attributes from a lookup dialog Is it/how is it possible to retrieve other attributes from a selected record in a lookup dialog? E.g. from Account form, the lookup of Primary Contacts lists contacts' name, phone number etc. Is it from the account form after the selection possible to retrieve the selected contact's phone number?     - Jscript Error and Numeric Fields erasing upon lost focus Aarrghhhhhh! I am at my wits end with this one. I am getting the following error message when trying to customize a form by adding elements that has manifested itself recently (the only one in my company to have this issue). The worst part of it all (besides being able to manage CRM customization), is that in a regular form (i.e., opportunities) when a numeric amount is entered, the value is erased when the element loses focus (when I click save/close for example). Here is the error message, and what I (and my OPs guys) have tried. "An Error has occurred in the script on this page. Line: 18; Character: 1; Error: Automation Server cannot create object; Code: 0; url: http://crm01/Tools/FormEditor/Dialogs/addfields.aspx" It obviously does not display the next form properly. I have tried the following: 1. Installed Windows Scripting 5.6 patch: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323885 2. Performed the following: Method 1: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x Repair for Windows XP From the Start menu, select Run. In the Open field, type sfc /scannow (Note: There is a space between sfc and /scannow) Select the OK button. Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process. Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes. Comment: At then end of this process, no files were updated. Method 2: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x Repair for Windows XP From the Start menu, select Search, select All Files and Folders. Select More Advanced Options and place a checkmark beside Search Hidden Files and Folders option. Ensure that Search System Folders and Search Subfolders are also checked. In the All or Part of the File Name box, type ie.inf In the Look In drop-down menu, select C: or the letter of the hard drive that contains the Windows folder. Click the Search button. In the search results pane, find the ie.inf file located in Windows\Inf folder. Right click the ie.inf file and click Install on the context menu. Reboot the computer when the file copy process is complete. Comment: This reverted IE, which caused it to download massive updates from Microsoft to revert it back. 3. Adjusted Tools>Options>Security Settings for Active Scripting. Saved and Closed IE. Rebooted. 4.     - Spouse tracking, linking in CRM We have a situation where both individuals of a married couple are in our Contacts table. We want to first be able to link the two people together on the form, and not in the relationships area. Any suggestions on doing a lookup from a Contact for another contact to display the contact name? Once the link is made, we would want to open the other person's form (similar to opening an account from the contact form). A similar situtation might be tracking the pain chain in an organization - this person reports to their manager. Link the two together.     - CRM 1.2 to 3 I have a CRM1.2 database which has been put onto an SQL2005 server in SQL 2000 compatability mode. The site it was at was migrating from SQL 2000 and the CRM1.2 system was no longer in user, so they moved the database (backup from old server and resotre to new) over to the new server before getting rid of the old one. Is there any way this database can be upgraded to use CRM v3 (and then onto v4) I know 1.2 isnt supported on SQL 2005, so I cant install 1.2 for this upgrade process. If a customer has both, that already upgraded to Dynamics 10 on sql 2000, cannot upgrade CRM, due to them dropping support on sql 2000.     - Field inheritance from account to contact Hi, I see that CRM 3.0 only inherits the main phone no. (telephone1 attribute) from Account to a new Contact to that Account. I cannot find the code doing that under field events, form events or view events.     - Setting up the CRM email router for inbound/email email capture? Hi all. Setup the email router on the exchange server however it doesnt seem to work as expected. What I am trying to acheive is that all users who send email via outlook the email gateway will now that this is a contact on CRM and tag the email. When looking CRM the email will then show as an activity, when the user replies the reply needs to be tagged against the contact. In the configuration do you need to setup inbound/outbound profiles for each user or is this global for each user account?     - Proxy Error 407 We recently installed a business card scanner to import data into MS CRM 3.0 The following error message is received "The request failed with HTTP status 407: Proxy Authentication Required". Our Security mgr observed the proxy activity and stated that the software is not making any internet access attempts but trying to access an internal server. He concluded that this could be a configuration issue either of the CRM server itself or in the client software.     - Tracking Outlook Appointment in CRM - error and resolution User selected the Appointment, Track in CRM, selected the Contact to relate and Save and Close, then would get the following error: An error occurred promoting this item to Microsoft RM. The Microsoft CRM server could not be contacted or the user has insufficient permissions to perform this action. This item has been saved to Microsoft Outlook but is not being tracked in Microsoft CRM. After many times back and forth with support, the problem turned out to be that the Role the User was assigned to had been a NEW Role that we created and somehow it became corrupt. We determined that since the System Administrator Role worked. The fix was to create a new role as a COPY of the System Admin Role, then edited all of the permissions. I'm glad to say that it's now fixed, but we have to recreate the other Roles we copied from the original "NEW" one. I hope this helps anyone with a similar issue.     - CRM 4.0 Outlook client keeps crashing outlook 2003 I was able to install and configure the CRM 4.0 Client for Outlook (Off Premise) on a notebook that has Windows XP Pro SP2 and Office 2003 with SP3. When I open Outlook the CRM toolbar initializes and works fine. When I click to go offline it gives me an error: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 11\Outlook.exe Abnormal program termination or This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information. There are no contacts with DOB and I have recreated the outlook profile and still get the same error. Outlook works for 2mins to maybe 12mins before crashing and this is just having outlook open. when an activity is added to a queue ?

Is it possible to use the PostURL function of the workflow to hit a custom
service or Microsoftâ??s service to initiate an MSN or AIM messenger alert when
certain events are triggered (creation of an entity for instance) ?
