CRM setup problem - Class not registered
Installed CRM product on Win 2000 SP3, SQL 2000 SP2 box. Install seems to
have gone well.
Later following reboot, when I brought up the CRM client in
web browser mode, none of the drop down lists work on any of the pages like
System Options or User Options. I get web page errors saying CLASS NOT
REGISTERED. How can I correct this?
I am able to do other things in the web client like add users, business
units etc, just nothing that requires using a drop down list. Tag: Windows XP Pro - Outlook not rendering images in email Tag: 6392

If I change a page on my website, using FrontPage, I have
no difficulty. If I want to "Save As," however, and give
it a different name for the purposes of my archives,
immediately I am thrown out of FrontPage entirely and
back to my regular webpage. This program worked great on
my old computer, but has been doing this since I got XP.
Any solutions?

MS CRM ON SMALL BUSINESS SERVER - DCOM ERRORS
I have completed an installation of MS CRM on Small Business Server and

Outlook 2003 BCM backup
I have bee using the beta version of Outlook 2003 with
BCM.
I'm appalled by the miserable state of documentation for
this otherwise excellent product.
I have been thrashing around for ages to find a good
solution for the function of a BCM (like Goldmine and Act
and most recently Outlook BCM)
So far, I like Outlook BCM, but I can't find any
information about how to backup the data.
I use the ridiculously heavyhanded method of backup for
just Outlook (not BCM) of just making copies of the whole
outlook.pst file. But I don't think that backs up the BCM
data.
Does anyone know?
Does anyone know if it is possible to actually
sychnronize Outlook BCM data between two computers?
I understand there is an automatic synching mechanism for
Outlook itself that involves using ost instead of pst
files, and may involve using MS Exchange, but as usual, I
find myself operating in the MS universe on the basis of
rumor rather than actual documentation... so I haven;t
figured that one out yet.

80040e14 error when installing Microsoft CRM - to Ryan...
Hello Ryan,
Since I am trying to install MS CRM on a SBS2K enviroment, I do not have an
installation enviroment that has multiple domain controllers. So I have
tried the solution of the second primary cause but it did not work.
I have uninstalled SQL, deleted the files that can not be uninstalled,
reinstalled the SQL and SP2 then installed CRM. Unfortunately I have
received the same 80040e14 error while creating the metabase db.

MSCRM Integration to eEnterprise
Hi
I am looking into standard MSCRM integration with Great Plains eEnterprise.
We have MSCRM V1.0 here (in the UK) and are waiting with baited breath for
the international release V1.2 in December. I understand that there is a
standard integration shipped on CD to US partners, but obviously as MSCRM is
not yet released over here we cannot get hold of it. I am not too bothered
regarding the eEnterprise release as we have V7.0 & 7.5.
I am trying to get ahead of the game and see what the integration consists
of (are the touchpoints the same as the old GPSFO?) and would like to get
hold of the document on the CD 'Microsoft CRM Integration for Great Plains
Guide.pdf'. I have trawled Great Plains PartnerSource but can't find a
dickie bird on this.
Can anyone give me anymore info on the standard integration, or even better,
email the above document to me, or dump it somewhere for download?

Update Data Import
I was able to import some account data from GoldMine 6.0
into MSCRM. However none of the custom field information
that I placed in the cdf_account_ext table appears in

the MSCRM database, by matching on a unique value? In
fact, I am not sure how the data that is placed into each

placed in the cdf_<entity> and the cdf_<entity>_ext are
properly related.
Also has anyone found any good reference books for MSCRM,
other than what you can glean from msdn?

CRM Email = SPAM
Its only been 2 weeks since we let our users run wild with the Email
functionality of CRM. And already we have 2 customers that have rejected all
CRM Email as spam.
I don't think there is much I can do....................but I just wanted to
say that this system has once again disappointed us...
Call me crazy but I believe email functionality/integration with a CRM is a
key feature (if not the very driving force for some CRM systems/policies).
This is right up there with the "promote to email" function that destroys
all formatting of an email, making it next to useless (unless you want your
eyes strained, and complaints coming from all sides of the equation).

Hello Everyone
Reading some of the recent posts, I wanted to take a moment to talk =
about the 80040e14 error when installing Microsoft CRM. There are 2 =
primary causes of the error that we have found in support. In a large =
environment with multiple domain controllers the 80040e14 error is a =
result of The Microsoft CRM installation failing as a result of Active =
Directory replication not replicating to all Domain Controllers in a =
timely fashion, prior to the Microsoft CRM installation getting to the =
point where it is installing the SQL users. It is possible that the SQL =
Server is referencing a Domain Controller that has not yet replicated =
the CRM Active Directory container. =20
We have 2 resolutions to this issue until it is resolved in an upcoming =
release.=20
Resolution 1 - Force replication to all domain controllers at the =
beginning of the Microsoft CRM installation, immediately after the =
installation wizard has installed any pre-requisite applications (such =
as .NET framework or XML Parser). Please wait until the installation is =
actually installing the first part of Microsoft CRM, which is the =
creation of the Organization Unit within Active Directory.
1. Go to Start Button | Programs| Administrative Tools | Active =
Directory Sites and Services Manager.
2. Double-click the Sites folder to expand it. There should be at least =
one site labeled Default-First-Site-Name. This may differ if you have =
manually configured additional sites.
3. Expand the Default-First-Site icon, expand the Servers folder, and =
then expand the given Active Directory server to find the NTDS Settings =
icon.
4. Click the NTDS Settings icon. One or more objects is listed in the =
right pane. One of those objects is a link to the domain controller you =
want. You can see the Friendly names by right-clicking an entry and =
viewing the name. One of the objects points to the domain controller you =
want. Right-click that entry, and then click Replicate Now. The =
replication is performed immediately, but your network performance =
influences the time it takes to update the target controller.
Forcing replication should allow your Microsoft CRM Server installation =
to complete successfully now.
Resolution 2 - Shut down all domain controllers except for the domain =
controller which has the Global Catalog Server. Once the CRM Server =
installation is completed, re-start the remaining domain controllers and =
continue configuring Microsoft CRM.
The second primary cause of the issue is a result the .mdf and .ldf =
files associated with the Microsoft CRM Server install Organization name =
within <system drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data may =
have not been deleted.
To resolve, Microsoft CRM will need to be uninstalled using the =
Uninstall Steps in Appendix C of the Implementation Guide, making sure =
that the .mdf and .ldf files have been deleted.
To verify the .mdf and .ldf files are removed:
1. Navigate to <system drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL =
Server\MSSQL\Data
2. Verify the following .mdf and .ldf files that are associated with =
your Microsoft CRM Organization Name (the Organization Name that you =
installed Microsoft CRM with) have been deleted.
- <organization_name>_METABASE.mdf
- <organization_name>_METABASE.ldf
- <organization_name>_MSCRM.mdf
- <organization_name>_MSCRM.ldf
- <organization_name>_CRYSTAL.mdf
- <organization_name>_CRYSTAL.ldf
For example, if Microsoft CRM is installed with the Organization Name =
Adventure Works Cycle, an .mdf or .ldf file name would look like:
Adventure_Works_Cycle_MSCRM.mdf
3. Once these are removed, install Microsoft CRM again.
Any questions on this please let me know.

CRM Internet Accessibility
Hello-
I've successfully setup CRM and have it working internally by typing
http://crm/loader.aspx. I'm not quite sure why I have to type 'loader.aspx'.
Besides that, I have setup a domain name entitled
http://crm.educadirect.com, but for some reason, this domain name will not
work. The domain name pings, but it does not work. Any ideas??
Thanks,

assigning support cases
I am looking to be able to assign a single support case to multiple
Accounts. Is there any way that this can be done in MSCRM. Is there a way
to do this thru System Customization? If so, is it a matter of adding
fields to the form, and does it change the way that reporting is handled.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
