Hi all,

I've had my CRM server running with the SQLServerAgent disabled. I've
enabled this service now and selected the option to make it auto-start.
Everything seems to work fine, however, I would appreciate if someone could
shed some light on its role and whether there are any problems that could
result if this service was not running.

Thanks in advance,

Nidal Salah

The SQL Server Agent runs all jobs configured on your SQL Server 2000. For
MSCRM this means running the replication jobs for all your off-line SFO
users, i.e. synchronizing the SQL Server named instances on their PC
(subscriber databases).

Use the 'go off-line' button in Sales For Outlook (SFO) to trigger the
replication.

Nidal,

Besides the things KjellSJ wrote, there are also some SQL jobs: Close Past
Appointment and Update Contract States.
