    - Default Unit of Measure When creating a new "Existing Product" line on a order, I select a product but its deafult unit of measure is not brought through onto the Order Product New form.     - No Users Appear in the User Manager Wizard Dear All, We installed Microsoft CRM 3 onto our server pretty much OK eventually (apart from reporting Services failed) but when I go to the User Manager Wizard, I don't see any of our users listed from Active Directory. The organizational unit I entered was: OU=webtechy,DC=internal,DC=webtechy,DC=co,DC=uk But now I'm wondering if I should have selected the folder in Active Directory that hosts all our users (we're using Small Business Server).     - Quick Campaign Error 0x8004032f I created a marketinglist with contacts. All contacts have an e-mail address. At the detailwindow of the marketinglist I press the button create Quick Campaign and i choose the option E-mail via mailmerge. I choose a html template in Word en complete the mailmerge. E-mails are send and tracked in MS CRM at contactlevel. But the quickcampaign stops with the error cannot be completed (Deze/dit Snelle campagne kan niet worden uitgevoerd wegen een fout: 0x8004032f, Neem contact etc. etc.) We are using CRM 3.0 SBE NL with XP SP2 cliÃ«nt with Office 2003.     - convert lead to Opportunity Hallo to all, When we open an opportunity it requires to set the Potential Customer for it. This is a look up field and you can choose an Account or a contact. Is there a way that i can choose as a potential customer a lead? I know that the originating lead is set in the administration tab but it is not helpful there. I do not want to convert leads to contacts or accounts and then create the opportunity because we use contacts for non-customer persons, accounts for customers that we already do business with and leads are for potential customers.     - Adding a bit attribute fails but adding a varchar doesn't Hi to all CRM Dudes and Dudettes, A client of mine has a small problem. They have been adding heaps of bit fields to their account entity and now its generating the general CRM Error Window. At first I thought SQL had reached it's maximum table row size, but we can still add normal varchar fields. I've turned tracing on and the error starts at this line. >EntityService.Create caught exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.     - User seeing each other accounts I'm having problem where our users can randomly see each others account. There don't see to be any logic to which account are visible to others users which ones are not. I've been able to trace the problem down to invalid SecurityDescriptor in the AccountBase table, but I have no idea on how to isolate the invalid Descriptors nor do I know how to fix them. Help!!     - Mass Delete I guess this is two parts... 1. I noticed that when I do a delete through the UI, the record stays and gets a deletion state code=2. At some point is there an admin function to actually clean these off of the db? 2. I have been testing the creation of Accounts through an SDK program and its working well. I have created over 26k accounts and now want to run a final clean test before running this job in a prod environment. I figure the safest way is to just set the deletionstatecode=2 through SQL.     - Custom Entity performance issues We've created a few custom entities in our CRM 3.0 implementation. Since we've added them we've also noticed a that our CRM application server performance has degraded. What I've found, for example, is when I switch from page to page in the grid that the page loads and rolls through each record (I can actually watch it count down in the lower left of the browser) vs. doing the same thing with a system entity like accounts where it almost "snaps" to the entire next page. If you watch the performance monitor on the CRM application server and SQL server while switching from page to page you can actually watch the processor on the app server increase quite a bit, but the SQL server doesn't appear to change much, if at all. I guess my question is has anyone else noticed this, and if so what have you done to increase the performance. My intial thought was that we needed to set up some SQL jobs for indexing the custom entities, but since the SQL server doesn't seem to be affected I'm not sure that would help much.     - CRM Exchange Mail Router for SBS I setup a mailbox to be used by the CRM Exchange Mail Router running on SBS 2003. The CRM mail worked fine in CRM 1.2 on this box, but now all email is being returned to our CRM users when they try to send mail. I have the CRM mailbox address set as crmmail@domainname.local. Is this not correct?     - Link a Product to a Contact Hi, For each product I sell I'd like to manage more info about it than just the plain-jane "Vendor" field on the Product\Description tab. I'd rather create a real Contact record, then replace the plain-jane "Vendor" field with one that holds a link to the actual Contact (relationship or picklist?). Ideally this would be 1-1. When I look through all the form customization and relationship creation screens, it is not apparent how I would do this. I never see anything that would let me directly connect two system entities.     - Can't reinstall laptop client we have CRM 3.0, the laptop was running the laptop client, the profile became corrupt and I reinstalled the laptop client, however I got the message that a version was on and should be removed. I have gone through the registry and removed everything from it that refers to CRM, Microsoft CRM, and Microsoft.CRM, I have also removed the desktop SQL engine along with all folders, removed all CRM folders including the CRM log found in the application data folder of the user.     - Insufficient Permissions Error when Closing an Opportunity Ok, just upgraded to 3.0 last week. Admin is able to close opportunities just fine. However our sales force is unable to close an opportunity. they always get "Insufficient Permisions - The logged on user does not have the appropriate security permissions to view these records or perform the specific action...." It is in the online version as well as offline. SFO as well as web. I have checked the settings under the salesmens role and everything seems to be open enough to allow opportunities to be close.     - Issue with oPopup errors on menus Hope someone can point me in the right direction. On Child windows (not the main window) when you move the mouse over a menu or tool bar item - the following errors appear : Line 141: _oPopup.document is null or not an object. If you use the ALT shortcuts to display the Actions menu (ALt A) the following error appears:Line 769: Object required. When you click one of the menus, the box highlights, but does not remove the highlight when the mouse moves off, and if you click the toolbars, even though they do not highlight, the functions still works. All menu functionality and tool bars works correctly on the main CRM screen, this is only happening on a few PC's, and only on windows called from the main CRM screen. (Ie a Case) I have already reset all security options and zone information so that the machines which work and do not work are identical - as well as all PC's running the same service packs and JRE's Can anyone help ?     - Pivot Table Aliases are removed Hello, Iâ??m hoping someone can shed some light into this problem for me. When I customize the source query in an Excel Pivot Table extract which contains joins (inner or outer join) to multiple filteredviews, the column aliases are disappearing. Has anyone else encountered this problem before? To reproduce, please repeat the following steps: 1) Take any list and export it as a dynamic pivot table. 2) Go into the Pivot Table and change the Source Query. (you can do this by Data Pivot Table and Pivot Chart Report Click on the Back Button and Click Get Data) 3) Modify the source SQL to include a join from multiple table columns. For example Select a.name as 'account name', b.title as 'case title' from filteredaccount a inner join filteredincident b on a.accountid = b.accountid 4) Run the Query in MSQuery and return the columns to MS Excel.     - New CRM 3.0 install We are trying to install the new CRM 3.0 that came in the MS Action Pak. I'm getting an error and the install won't proceed beyond the point where it asks for the SQL server. Says it can't find server(0) The box is a Win2003 server with Exch 2005 and SQL 2005 in it.     - CRM Exchange Router Service filling event log I have just finished installing CRM on a Server that runs SPS2003, spent about a day getting it all to live happily together, it all appears to work, clients can use the web client fine with no errors, seems quick. However after installing the Mail Router on our exchange server, in this case an SBS2003 box, the application log has been filled up with errors, about 4 a minute.     - Importing Leads and Preventing Duplicates Grettings! I have a CSV file containing over 2000 leads that I would like to import into CRM 3.0. We currently have almost 5000 leads in CRM 3.0 already. Yes, we like to keep our sales team busy ;) I'd like to import the leads from the CSV file, however I want to avoid any duplication. A duplicate would be two (or more) leads with the same name and company. Also, I'd like to avoid the situations for a company where the CSV may contain lead named "Bob Smith" from "ACME Ltd.". CRM 3.0 may already have a lead named "Bob Smith" from "ACME Limited". To us, those are the same company and are thus a duplicate. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I'd go about doing this?     - Tricking CRM 3 into running two languages Hello, Having had English version of CRM 3, we got it installed, on Win 2003 SP1, SQL Server 2000. We have now received Russian version of the product. Since we shall be deploying Russian version for local clients and not all of our internal staff are fluent in English, the boss tells to replace English installation with Russian. Okay to that, I thought... only I'd really have preferred it with dual language support - as I find it easier to understand English interface and online documentation, if it were somehow possible at all. I also administer WSUS and it's magic there - just the matter of switching language preferences order in IE. So my question are: 1. I am wondering if anyone managed to set CRM 3 up in a so it can appear in either of the languages. Or are we stuck with the language of the installation? 2. If the above is impossible for menus, dialogs, etc... could I at least have the online docs in English... would it be okay to overwrite Russian content with English one (there're updated online help files available for download anyway...)?     - SBS Site Problems w/ CRM After upgrading from 1.2 to 3.0, we have major problems with our SBS websites. 1) CRM is setup to use the IP address of the server and this site runs fine. 2) Upgrading knocked out our "companyweb" site installed by SBS ("service unavailable") 3) SQL Reporting doesn't work because it's trying to use the default address which is already used by CRM, RWW, companyweb, etc. I'm really confused about how to sort out all the websites. How can all these sites run on one IP address?     - MS CRM Upgrade to 3.0 with customizations Hi All I have got to upgrade MS CRM 1.2 to MS CRM 3.0 to o of our clients. We have done some customizations as mentioned below. 1. Added certain new fields in the schema manager using Deployment Manager and then modified certain CRM forms by adding these new fields to the forms. 2. We do not have any 3rd party applications integrated to MS CRM. The customizations have been done only using the Deployment Manager and the GUI of CRM. 3. There are some customized reports that we have developed in Crystal Reports. I understand that these custom developed reports have to be redone in SQL Reporting Services. My question is, during upgrade, will MS CRM take care of the customization to the forms that we have done, (or) is there a procedure to export the customizations to an XML file from MS CRM 1.2 and import it back into CRM 3.0. I had also noticed that you have to import XML file only using the CRM GUI and not using Deployment Manager. How do I do this? Kindly advise me. Any quick help would really be appreciated. Does anyone know if this is at all possible without writing a query to SQL?
