    - How can I view all contacts for all sub-accounts of accounts? I have an account with more sub-accounts. Each sub-account has one ore more contacts. Normally I can see only contacts associated directly with that account, not with sub-accounts. When a select that parent accounts, I'd like to see all the contacts from all sub-accounts.     - Workflow question, regarding emailing to owner of another entity I am trying to create a workflow rule to send email to account owner after two weeks when service ticket regarding to account is closed. When I'm creating email I can only find following available logical users (account/contact, account, contact,owner's manager, owner). I need to send the email to account owner. Is this possible somehow?? example case. Customer Test has owner Ted Tester, and his team member creates service ticket to Customer Test and closes it. I would like to send email to Ted Tester after two weeks after ticket is closed. As a reminder. I can send the email to team member who own's the ticket.     - how to create relationship between Account and Contact relationshi Hey all- I'm writing an application that creates accounts in CRM 3.0 automatically using the web service. So far, so good. The problem I'm having is programmatically assigning accounts to the contacts. If my accounts are already created in CRM, I should just be able to grab their guid and assign it to the contact using contact.parentcustomerid, right? Well, if that's the case, what should the code look like? How do I assign values to the type of Customer? If that's not right, can someone point me in the right direction? I got this sample code from one forum but it doesn't work for me. Example 1) Change lookups with code like this: contact.parentcustomerid = new CRMLookup(); contact.parentcustomerid.value = account.accountid.value; contact.parentcustomerid.type = EntityName.account.ToString(); Example2) You can also use the helper class and just use: contact.parentcustomerid = CrmSdk.CrmTypes.CreateCustomer(account.accountid.v alue, EntityName.account.ToString()); I don't know why i can't use the above code?     - Can't connect remotely after upgrading to Vista I just installed CRM 3 Rollup2 on a new Vista laptop and I can't connect from outside the office using the Microsoft VPN client. I connect successfully over the VPN but it doesn't authenticate my User. I suspect this is a VPN/Vista connection issue and am wondering if anyone else has come across this and have a solution?     - Merging ntext fields removes carrage returns, additional spaces and line breaks CRM 3.0 and 4.0 We have been dealing with this issue for a long time and are still exhibiting the issue in CRM 4.0. When merging some description fields (ntext) from our case records all the line feeds, carriage returns, extra spaces (more than a single space in a row) are removed and the field is merged as one paragraph of text.     - Workflow send e-mail CC optional recipients fails when field empty When using workflow to send email we want to populate the CC field from an "additional contact" field that is not always populated. When the field is populated in the CRM record, the workflow functions fine. If the "additional contact" field is left empty, workflow fails and remains in an error state. I know I can create additional rules in the workflow to check for the field containing data but it does not seem like the extra work and complexity should be needed. Anyone have any other ideas? When viewing the e-mail from the contacts history, the top of the e-mail displays a message: This message has not yet been submitted for delivery CRM 4.0 Eventually the mail delivers and the message goes away. This occurs for any CRM mail, manual, merges or workflow. We have Exchange 2003 on a separate server with the CRM connector.     - Mobile express for CRM3.0 / W Mobile 6 I bought a htc TyTNII and I would like to run wcrm mobile for CRM3.0 on it. The installation manual says nothing needs to be installed on the PDA itself, only a whole lot of things need to be done on the CRM-server. Following the instructions for that, I have a Windows Mobile configuration screen added to CRM now, which seems to do would it should do. 1. However I have no idea how to open the crm mobile application now. What alias to use instead of the 'normal' http://mscrm? 2. Should I copy the 'Mobile application'- and 'Adfministrative interface' directory? I now copied them in a directory under Program files. Should I have copied it to a directory in the inetpub-directory? 3. Is it correct that nothing should be installed on the pda? If not, what should be installed on it and where to find that. 4. I installed CRM Mobile Express. Are there otrher versions? Should I have installed an other version? Where to find? 5. The installation guide tells me to set the location for the draftXML.xml and PublishedXML.xml in (I chose C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM Mobile\ as the location for the files, see remark above) C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM Mobile\Administrative Interface, not in the respective subdirectories C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM Mobile\Administrative Interface and C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM Mobile\Mobile Application.     - bulk change of all telephonenumbers I have all telephonenumbers entered in the format +31555-555555 or 055-5555555 or 0555-555555 (or 06-55555555 for mobile phone). Now I want to start making phonecalls directly using this field, so I will have to delete the minus sign in it. What is an easy way to do that?     - Sales Orders with a multi-part order Hi all, Is there a way to autofill line items in a sales order with an item that is comprised of multiple items as part of a kit. For example, if you had an instrument that when you enter the instrument as a line item on the sales order then the order would auto fill not only the instrument but all the accessories included with the instrument as additional line items.     - Failed move data for ISV Config I have seen this issue on the MS Knowledgebase and on the newsgroup, but my problem seems a bit different. I did a fresh install of my laptop along with the CRM 4 Outlook client. When I try to go offline, I get "Failed to move data for entity 'ISV Config' during action Insert, countRows=1." I have seen similar issues posted with specific entities noted - but the ISV Config seems different from what I have been reading. I followed the KB article, but still the same problem.     - CRM 4.0 Mail Merge Error: Record 1 contains too many data fields Hi, I have heavily customized the Account area in my CRM installation. There are 311 attributes. When I use the mail merge functionality using the 4.0 web client, after I open a word xml template and following pressing the "CRM Mail Merge" command button, I get the following error in a pop-up error window twice "Record 1 contains too many data fields". This happens again after the recipient selection form displays without any data and after the user presses OK. Does anyone know what is causing this? When a lead is created , We get a "Not enough privilege to access the Microsoft CRM object or perform the requested operation" logged in the debug log and the job ends up in the workflow monitor as paused.     - Unable to use DynamicEntity() to exeute a response Hi, My CRM client has two custom entities set up, and I can use Dynamic Entity to create a record against those custom entities, respectively. Now, I created an entity for generating a sequence number and the plug- in will read the value and parse the incremented value to those entities. The original entities are related to "account" and "contact". The one that I created does not associated to any entity. For those two entities, I can able to create or update record with using Dynamic entity. However, the one that I create (for the sequece number) is not. We then apply a workflow rule to build various activities, one of which is a task that needs to be assigned to the client service rep assigned to the Account (as noted in the preferred user attribute). How do you go about setting the Owner of the Task using the Preferred System User defined for the Account. Currently, we are having to set the owner to a specific user, who would then need to re-assign the owner. Maybe I missed something during the workflow rule, but I could not see a way to set the Owner of the task using the Preferred User reference. Our only alternative is to have a work-flow rule for each Preferred User that may be assigned to an Account, and then the related task created by the workflow could then use a specific user. Yet, I would have supposed that the workflow manager would have provided for this scenario. Is it possible that we need to use a different Activity (Phone Call, etc.)? It will the same upgrade as it was for a regular v3.0.
