    - "Method not allowed" in Outlook Client Hello, Im trying to make an "add on" for MSCRM 1.2, that should work on an Outlook Client while offline. I try to use Microsoft.CRM.Platform.Proxy.BizUser. It doesn't matter what I try, i get the error "Method not allowed" when I try to ask "objBizUser.WhoAmI". When BizUser.url shows the CRM server, it works. For offline I try to use the services from "http://localhost:2525/mscrmservices". I dont't know how can I see the Address for ".srf" files on the client. It works when I use Microsoft.CRM.Platform.COMProxy, but I think this way is not supported. Does anybody know what can I do?     - Closing aspx page Hi, I wrote a few procedures in VB.net (using the MS CRM SDK) to get external data into MS CRM, and put them in an aspx page. This works fine, but since these procedures have to be executed at night, I'd like the page to close after all the procedures in the Sub Form_Load are completed.     - CRM and Crystal Reports We have a production environment and a development environment on different servers. we restored the production databases to our development environment. After doing this our Crystal Reports does not work gives the error "Crystal Reports Logon Error - Please verify that you have enought Crystal Licenses". I'm pretty positive it has to do with the fact that the Prod env and dev env are on different servers and since we restored the dev database directly from production it is not looking for Crystal Reports in the right spot.     - Adding a custom field to the Orders Form I'm trying to have a custom field labeled "Client" to appear in the Orders Form. 1. I add the field "CFSClient" through the Schema Manager in the Deployment Manager. 2. I was able to go to Settings | System Customization | Orders | Customize Form | All Orders and add the custom field I created. 3. After saving the changes, the "Client" field I created does not appear when I create a new Sales Order.     - search utility in CRM knowledge base Hello there! The search utility in CRM knowledge base works for some of my users and for others doesn't. I mean that they put the same word which exists in articles, one sees the search results and the other gets no results. Have you any idea how can I fix this. I gave system administrator role to both users and nothing changed. Another question for those of you that don't write only in english. The search utility in CRM cannot identify greek characters and gives an "unexpected error". All other search utilities in CRM (such as in Accounts, Contacts etc) work fine with greek characters.     - MSSQLServer and SQLServerAgent Service Accounts Hello, I am new to CRM. We have a CRM Server and SQL 2000 Server each on their own piece of hardware. I recently changed the MSSQLServer and SQLServerAgent services to start using a Domain\User. I was able to get the services started and all other programs worked well except for CRM. We were no longer able to get to the CRM Website, and the CRM Security Service would not start. As soon as I set the SQL Services to start using the localsystem account again, everything began working fine. What privileges does does a domain user need in CRM in order for the software to function properly? I most definitely want to start the SQL Services in this manner. Can someone help me with this.     - User Deleted in AD, can CRM licence be retrived? Hello all, I've made a mistake and deleted a user in AD before removing their licence in MS CRM. The user has no records associated with their account. I want to retrieve their MS CRM licence but of course I get an error to the effect that.     - CRM - Contact Notes My managers often keep seperate notes about a contact. Because they all have independant relationships with the same contact they wish to keep their notes about the contact seperate and private. Their current way of doing this is for each manager to create a seperate contact record that is owned by them - thus the notes about the contact remain priviate.     - CRM router / email problems When we try to send an email to a contact from the CRM system, we get an error saying the email cannot be sent ("An Error has occurred. For more information, contact you system administrator). . Fromn the web version, I am able to get this code from the web dialog that pops up: http://crm/_common/error/errorhandler.aspx?errNum=0x80040216 The problem occurs in Outllok and via the web interface. I installed the Exchange bridge, but don't see (or understand) how it is binding the CRM server to exchange and what transport it uses to send the email. I looked in logs on both machines and can't see any failures in the event viewer. I assume I don't have the router/bridge set up correctly or that there is some permissions problem. I have spent a few weeks trying to find info out on this, and my next stop is to try and find a MS CRM consultant. Thanks for any help.     - Opportunity needs to display Account and Contact - Help! We are using opportunities to track our forecasted sales. There are multiple contacts with an account, so Opportunities are linked to the contact person. However, when viewed from a list of all opportunities, it just diplays the Contact Name - not the underlying acount the contact is associated with. We need to have the company name on the account also displayed. Any ideas how to do that? I thought about mapping accountid on the contact records to the opportunity and then displaying that field...but it is a system field with a data type that cannot be added (Lookup).     - integration user Can someone please explain to me the significance to the integration user???? Does the Integration User need to be added to every account in CRM in for there to be no problems? I understand that when data is brought over from Great Plains the Integration User is set as the owner...will there be any problem if I delete that integration user and add in someone else? I messed up and frogot to run a script when I did the integration. Now when I do migration (from siebel) I have duplicate data. I was going to in and delete all account that had an owner of Integration User (since these are the ones that were brought over from GP). None of these have any other user listed so I don't forsee any problems with deleting them, but I just want to make sure. So, again can someone explain the importance of the integration user????     - Undocumented Workflow feature..... Just wanted to share something I found out today. There is the ability today to use "slugs" in workflow today. This is not supported, but I just tested it and it works. For example, I setup a rule on Account to create a follow-up task. I set the subject of the task to the following: Contact &account.name; The resulting task that was created replaced the &account.name; with the name of the Account. There is obviously no built-in support for entering these slugs, so you need to make sure you use the correct table & column names.     - outlook sync problem Hi, We just started using MS CRM 1.2 We installed the outlook client on a few laptops, and we saw the following problem: in some outlook clients we can see all the CRM contacts in the user's contact folder folder (this is also what we want to see). But in some other clients we can only see a small part of the CRM contacts.     - Disabling Views When I open a built-in view (for example, My Accounts) in the customization section of CRM, the text at the bottom of the view form says that while the viw cannot be deleted, it can be disabled by clicking on the Disable option in the Actions menu.     - Heavy CRM customisation Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has any advice as to where to start with heavy customisation of CRM 1.2. By This I mean I want to change some of the CRM menus, edit some of the existing forms and point them to new places in the SQL database. Create my own new sections which use newley created rules and other sorts of technical stuff like that. I've got a great knowledge of the setup and config of CRM as far as it goes "out of the box" but when it comes to creating new things in it I'm not sure where to start. It's probbably worth mentioning that I'm an MCT and have access to the MOC courseware although I've not read any yet as it takes ages to download them! Just to take this a bit further then, what I really want to do is set up an extra tab under Cases that summarises all of the activities that have been added to the case so they're nice and easy to read. Yes, AMC offers an Interaction Assistant for MSCRM, which gives you many
TAPI controls (answer, make call, hold/unhold, transfer, conference, etc.)
from within MSCRM. Check out
