    - User Manager Problem Hello all, I have a problem attempting to create a user. I get the following error "User 1 ( Timothy Cocaro ) failed: Application Error (8004022c) - SOAP Server Application Faulted" I have read the other threads relating to this which suggest that I should add users through the crm_web which I have and works fine. However I want to know why "User Manager" doesnt work because I feel the same issue is affecting the import of the XML through the "configuration wizard" I have found a website describing this problem (http://ts2blogs.com/blogs/larrylentz/archive/2005/11/30/462.aspx) but is light on detail regarding how he fixed it. In short he once again mentiones priveleges/administrator. Can someone please help me because this application lacks any real guides and is simply a collection of hodge podge documentations.     - Basic e-mail template requirements For a product that on the face of it looks like it can do such powerful things without custom programming I cannot believe that it has missed what surely must be required in every installation! For this purpose only want to communicate billable time per contract line via: 1. e-mail template when case is closed. Need field to indicate how much time was spent on that case. Here i'm not sure what case-billed service units (in this case minute allotments) but it never appears in my e-mail! 2. generate a report (i have crystal reports) each month that totals allotments (and preferably case descriptions) for contract line Surely there must be an easy way???     - CRM SBS install error I installed CRM on SBS 2003 and had 1 problem with the Reporting Server being incorrect. But the CRM Setup Wizard tool would not run (kept getting an exception). So, I tried a repair of the CRM setup - no good. Then did an uninstall, and re-install. The install will not work - I keep getting the following error: Action Microsoft.CRM.Setup.Server.RegisterFaxService failed. The configuration registry key is invalid.     - Creating a workflow rule to e-mail if service activity is not closed We are new to CRM workflow. We want to create a workflow process that will e-mail the person assigned to a service appointment if they have NOT closed the appointment within 24 hours after the scheduled end.     - No Reports in CRM 3.0 Install Hi everyone, I have been working on installing CRM 3.0 (fresh install) on a Small Business Server and I have been having trouble getting the reporting services to work correctly. I have been able to get the reports section to pull up now but no reports are listed in the grid. All the other functions appear to be working and I can even start to add reports but it puzzles me. Doesn't Microsoft provide sample reports to begin with? Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how do I get the reports to show up? Surely they gave us standard reports with the program?!?!?!     - Outlook Calendar Problem when Going offline in 3.0 I am encountering a strange occurance where appointments created in the outlook calendar disappear when I go offline. They are still listed in my CRM activities view and as related to the CRM record. However they are removed from my calendar. These are appointments that occur in the future (i have seen a post about past appointments and this is not the case). Existing Category and Sub-Category fields sound like they should be linked to it.     - CRM v3 and removing emails from "My Work" queue ? We have upgraded to v3 and using Outlook for emails (ahhh -soooo much better than 1.2) Queues are working. However there is now what appears to be a queue called "My Work" that is also receiving all personal emails to a user, in addition to the emails arriving in Outlook. This means all spam etc is also there. There does not appear to be a way to remove emails from the queue - legitimate emails or not, there is no "remove from queue" option on the menu bar or in "activities". I have tried closing Outlook, just using CRM, and rebooting and just using CRM and not even starting outlook. Still nothing there. the only option is to delete the email or assign it to someone (or) and even then I can not do anything but delete the record from the system.     - Easy Upgrade From 1.2 To 3.0? I am working on an upgrade of 1.2 to 3.0 on an SBS2003 box, and it has not been fun. Major headaches, restores, reboots, and reinstalls. My question to the group: Has anyone had a clean and easy upgrade? I've seen lots of posts here about problems with the upgrade process, and I'm just wondering how prevalent these headaches are, and whether or not the upgrade has gone smoothly for anyone?     - KDC errors After installing CRM I am getting KDC errors in the system event viewer on SBS 2003 SP1 Errors are: There are multiple accounts with name cifs/servername of type DS_SERVICE_PRINCIPAL_NAME here are multiple accounts with name HOST/FQDN of type DS_SERVICE_PRINCIPAL_NAME There are multiple accounts with name cifs/FQDN of type DS_SERVICE_PRINCIPAL_NAME. There are multiple accounts with name host/FQDN of type DS_SERVICE_PRINCIPAL_NAME. (Note the case change.) There are multiple accounts with name cifs/FQDN of type DS_SERVICE_PRINCIPAL_NAME. (this time the FQDN is in CAPS) I followed the instructions for the install from the doc "Installing and Securing Microsoft CRM 1.2 on a Windows Small Business Server 2003 Network" CRM 1.2 is installed on the SBS server and it is working just fine as long as I leave the the SPN's in place. If I remove then then CRM is not found. Rebooting puts them back in and CRM starts working again as expected. I then begin to get the KDC errors again. What can I do to get rid of these. Is there a KB that you can send me? These errors do not seem to affect the operation of the system or the application but I would like to get rid of them. Thank you for any help you can give.     - Script to export KB articles If anyone has developed a script that will export KB articles to HTML, plain text, or any other format, I would appreciate it greatly if you would share it with me. Our co. is rolling out 1.2, and I do not have access to the raw data, but I'm assuming it is stored as XML as it is in the 3.0 sandbox server I have installed. Accordingly, a script to access the raw data would have to be fairly complex because it has to parse the XML, in addition to looking up the section definitions, which are stored in another table, etc. If it can be done with VBScript accessing the API, I'm sure that would be easier, but I've found no examples of how to even get started. Since you can't even copy a published KB article to the clipboard in 1.2, it requires a lot of mickey mousing to simply send an article to a customer.     - Export CRM-contacts to Outlook Global Contact (CRM 1.2) Hi, I want to export all the contacts in CRM to the Outlook Global Contact, so all the non-CRM-users can find contacts with there phonenumber etc. There is no support for this at all in CRM 1.2 I can do this manually. First export all the contact to Excel and from there back in Global Contact. Now the problem is the 'Save as'-field. You can only set this field by opening the contact, set the field and save it. For one contact is this no problem, for 5000 contacts it is. When I import the contacts I can't set the value of this field. It has a default value, but I need another one.     - Warning message when sending e-mail via mail Merge I've been sending emails to a group of contacts through MS CRM 3.0 e-mail via mail merge and after finishing the email in Word, I got the following warning message "A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf. Do you want to allow this." It seems to be a Microsoft Office Outlooks warning (I'm using the version 2003 sp2) and i have to confirm every single email one by one which is a bit annoying when there is few hundred emails to send.     - Error in Replying All to email in History in CRM 3.0 - Help! My client was trying to create a 'Reply All' to an email in history, the email having many recipients in it. So my client just clicked Reply to All and typed her message and sent it, but had this error: Duplicate Record: A record with these values already exists. A duplicate record cannot be created.     - Relationship replaces related contacts in opportunites in V3.0.... I need some help...in V1.2, you could relate Contacts to opportunites....in V3.0, this has been replaced by "relationships" which is fine except...I have a customer who used the Contacts view in Opportunity to display info on related contacts such as job title, address, phone, etc....I just edited the Contacts associated view to disply this info and it saved their call center reps a few clicks by not having to actually open the contact record just to verify or see this info. Now, if they want to see that info, they have to open the contaqct record from the Relationship view. Here is my question, is there a way that i can add the full contact link back into opportunities? I'm thinking maybe I can by defining a relationship and mappings via Customizations.     - CRM 3 Custom Entity Edit and Delete I've created two custom entites which one relates to the other (many to one). When I create a new record on one of them (the one) I can select from the side menu bar a view of the other one (the many). I am able to create a new record from this view but I cannot edit or delete the record once it is created. If I do the same relationship and configuration between a custom entity and a system entity (the system being the many) I am able to create, edit and delete the system entity records from the same type of view.     - Why cannot I create a case while filling 'Regarding' field I am trying to associate an email with some issue I am working in. I good place for it seems to asssociate this emai not only with a contact but a case. When the issue is new, I would like to be able to open a new case using regarding field but new case in greyed out. What is the business logic behind it (I am sure there is a good explanation by MS)? Are there ways around? When we are saying CRM 3.0 is so much better than MS 1.2 (I am the first on line to confirm that statement), we need to prove it to people, and this is not a perfect example.     - Populate phone call activity info into a case Since it does not appear that you can open a case from a phone activity, is there a way to create a rule that: 1. Open a case with the sender(caller), subject, and details of the call populated. 2. Open a case and will allow a user to choose another user to assgin this case to. 3.     - DTC Service Failing Regularly We use the Integration for Great Plains with CRM 1.2. Recently the Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) Service on our integration server has started failing regularly several times a day. DOes anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this? Once it fails it causes all the integration's scheduled jobs to fail and extremely high LSASS activity (about 60% CPU constantly).     - Can't access CRM from IE - page not displayed This is a problem I'm having with CRM version 1.2. On one of my client machines, I can't access CRM using IE. I get the "page not displayed" error. I only have this problem on one out of 82 clients. The other 81 client machines can access CRM without issue. On the problem machine I tried pinging the CRM URL...no problem...it returned the correct IP address of my CRM server. I even tried turning off the firewall, all popup blockers, removed the CRM url from trusted sites, and checked the hosts file for problems. Has anybody else had this problem? I'm stuck and can't think of what else to try...except reformatting the laptop. This is a brand new Dell laptop by the way running XP SP2...just like the other 81 laptops in our organization.     - CRM 3 Slow Web Interface Hello, I have 1 installation on Win2003 SBS Premium with 2GB Memory. Hello All

When running "MS CrRM SBE Configuration Wizard" on install and trying to
install the XML file onto my CRM server (http://server:5555) it mentions the
user must be "Microosft CRM System Administrator".

I have since setup ETCIH/administrator on the "user page" on the crm server
page and assigned the role "System Administrator", rebooted and went be back
to install the XML file with no luck??

What am I doing wrong? I have logged in as administrator, I have setup
etcih\administrator in CRM with "system administrator role" i dont know what
else i can do;

THe XML import doesnt work, I cannot add users through the User Manager
console because CRM beleives I dont have the right privs? Can someone please
please help me.

Hi Timothy,

Please add your "Microosft CRM System Administrator" user into "Domain
admins" group and try again.
