    - Retreiving Fetch_XML from a custom View. I have the following situation: I want to be able to save queries made by users. I now enabled the users to create their own views and share them with others. This works ok. What I now want to do, is to retreive the Fetch_XML code from a specific view. I want to do this by using an external application, which wil do this at a scheduled time and send the Fetch_XML file to the CRM bulk mailer for a mailing. Will this be possible using the SDK?     - Install Problems I've been trying to install CRM server for a while now. The istall errors out everytime stating that the MSI install failed. Running the install again wants to uninstall it. Trying to install the client says that the CRm Security Service is not running. The service will not start giving error 1053. All CRM Services are installed in seperate VM's.     - Product Catalog I need to figure out a way to either import or have CRM check against an external catalog for the porduct list. I need to do this because we are using an external product catalog that gets update on a weekly basis. How do I import this into CRM so we don't have to update thousands of products weekly, which would be impossible.     - CRM Error message 0x80040E4D I have a new install. I am trying to access the CRM web site for the first time on the CRM server. I am prompted for my user name and password, but when I log in, I receive this error message: An error has occurred. For more information, contact your system administrator. In the address bar, I can see that the error number is: errNum=0x80040E4D Also when I am loged into the server as Administrator and I try to access either the Workflow manager or Monitor, I receive a message stating "you do not have sufficient Microsoft CRM privileges to run workflow manager..." I have modified the login security on the SQL database for both the MSDN_Subscriber_METABASE and the MSDN_Subscriber_MSCRM and set domain users to have public assess to the database. I have win 2000 advanced server with SQL 2000 SP2 installed. I have installed the MSDN Subscriber license number. This is my third attempt at installing this software.     - The Selected Snap-in did not initialize properly Hello all. The title says it all. I have CRM up and running, all services are started, I am logged in with the Administrator's account. But when I try to open the Deployment Manager to publish some form changes, I get the following message three times: "The Selected Snap-in did not initialize properly" So this means to me that three CRM-specific MMC snap-ins are not initializing. During the CRM setup, I was able to open the Deployment Manager with the snap-ins(this is the way licenses are activated during installation). But now, when I want to publish changes to forms, the snap-ins are not initializing. I can log in to CRM and add, update, and delete records, so I know that CRM is running properly.     - Why are there so many transaction types in Great plains I am trying integrate my POS with Great plains. I am trying to figure out which tables to populate based on which table get populated when I create transactions in Great plains itself. But I can't decide which transaction I need to create. Why are there so many transaction types? There are receivables, SOP, and Invoicing. What is a user suppose to do. Make all these transaction for one sales order. Shouldn't it be that if someone enters an order the receivable and the invoice to that customer get created automatically. When ever I enter a sales order for a customer it doesn't increase what they owe us.(receivalbe summ) its only when I enter a receivable transaction. Why is that. And then if I enter a sales order and I want to send the customer an invoice to pay, I have to create an invoice transaction? My main questions is, What is the point of creating the sale? I can just create a receivable and an invoice, no need for sop. Is tht right? Keep in mind I don't have any inventory management needs. All we are trying to do is manage our A/R and A/P great plains. My problem is that I don't know great plains or accounting very well and I don't understand the flow of great plains. Event if I were to use integration manager I don't see know if I should be using sop integration and receivable integration and payable integration or just sop. I can't use integration manager becuase sales get update and edited within our pos and we need to transfer those changes over. Can any one explain it to me. I was sucessful in creating the .dll object , but when i try to register I get an error saying "One or more files do not contain components or type libraries. These components cannot be installed.     - Sales for outlook gets fatal error I have been trying to install the sales for outlook cd on my xp machine with all the latest updates on it. It goes through the initial install of installing sql desktop engine fine except it does not ask me to check off the part about installing an XML component. Then it installs the hotfix, comes up with the outlook clients install part and stops and give me a "fatal error" everytime. It also creates a personal folder in my outlook that can not be opened and is corrupted. Anyone have this same problem? Any help would be appreciated... Sharepoint 2003 can be used both internally (intranet), as well as externally (extranet or registered internet portal user). The second scenario assume that someone has paid for the corresponding Sharepoint External Connector licensing, which can be very expensive. In particular, I am trying to write a workflow rule which creates an Activity (phone call) to be completed and if the owner does NOT complete it within the designated timeframe, a follow up should be assigned to the original person's manager.     - error when trying to install CRM for Outlook We got the server installed and can connect to it via the browser. When I try to install the Sales for Outlook on my workstation, I get an error "Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook cannot find an instance of the Microsoft CRM Server components at http://<<crm-server-url>>" I can hit that same url from my browser and the CRM app comes right up. Also, when trying to import contacts from Outlook it says "Microsoft Outlook cannot be started. Verify that Outlook is installed on this computer."     - Great PLains the easy way We have created a POS and are trying to transfer the sales over to the Great Plains to allow our client to do things like A/R, A/P and other accounting functions. I am not going to use integration manager or econnect. I was just going to populate the sales tables myself using stored procedures. All I am going to transfer over is the sale amount, commission amount, the cost, and the sale Id and customers name and address. If I just populate a few fields in the SOP10100 and SOP10200 table is that enough. All my clients want is a way to track who owes them how much. And who they owe money to. And to accept payment and make payment. Will creating a sales record (sop10100) result in something showing up in A/R and A/P Do I have to create invoice and receivable record in addition to creating sop10100 record. What table would those be. Do I have to create any gl transactions. I notices when I tried to make a sale in great plains it ask (distribution) me which accounts should be debited and which credited) I have 10 days to do this and I don't know anything about great plains. I am trying to do the bare minimum. Can you give me some direction. Are there some stored procedure that I can just pass the sale Id and the amounts and it does all the work for me. Or at least some examples of your own stored procedures I can copy and modify. I want to pass a few sale figures over and have it create a complete A/R and A/P system. Is this unrealistic. By the way the reason I want to pass it sale id that is in my own pos is that I might need to update the sale information in great plains with changes user might have made in our pos since it was first transferred to great plains.
