Hi,

Is there a way to stop the CRM contacts from synchronizing in Outlook when
you first install the Outlook client?
There seems to be an option to stop it after you have installed it....but by
then, the contacts have already been synchronized.

Thanks

My IT guy did a registry hack that turned off the checkbox that synchronizes
at startup. We did not want to synch our Contacts either and this was the
way around it during initial setup.

Hi Melissa,

Thanks for your post. Are you able to tell me what your IT guy changed in
the registry?

Thanks,
Sophie

Try this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSCRMClient\SyncContact = 0

Would I change this key on the client PC just after I've installed CRM client
and before I open Outlook?

Yes sophie, that is what we did. Install client, any hotfixes, then reg
hack. Then reboot, start Outlook and everything was in order.

CRM 3
How can we stop Outlook from doing a resync everytime it is started?
This is only happening to a couple of users but one is the President!

Thanks,
