    - Valid for advanced find... CRM 3 Hello Microsoft: As you probably know, there are attributes which are â??not validâ?? for Advanced Find. For example, account/businesstypecode (http://{yourCRMserver}/sdk/list.aspx) is an important search criterion for accounts. For my organization (and I assume for others too) it is mandatory to be able to separate these business types for campaigns, lists, etc. For now, I told our CRM users that they have to sort the results by business type and than scroll to their desired business typeâ?¦ (What is an unacceptable and limiting stateâ?¦).     - unhandled error accessing reports through CRM 3.0 Menu with a lot of effort to customize and deploy meaningful data to it, We have a demo setup up and running. Unfortunately later we realized that accessing Reports through CRM creates an error, but accessing Reports directly through the Browser works just fine. So it seems that there is a problem in ReportServer configuration within CRM3.0 installation. But no idea where to look for it, we don't want also to setup the crm server again. Sitemap looks to be okay. The problem is isolated, as it seems to be with the URL configuration, we access CRM Reports directly through IE as follow: http://crmserver/ReportServer and works fine even though the CRM Website is crmserver:5555. and accessing Reports through the CRM3.0 Menubar (Workplace) results to an error.     - Downloading Sales Literature - format is defaulting to HTML I have 1 sales rep who cannot download our sales literature in the correct format? If it's a PDF, DOC, PPT, etc when he does a right click and save target as the format is always HTML? This is not happening to any other users. I had him try from his laptop and then one of my Windows 2000 Terminal servers with the same results. I am running 1.2. Any ideas? I initially thought it was his toolbar add-ons for google, but disabling did not do the trick, and that was confirmed when he had the same problem on the terminal server.     - Database access within an IFRAME Hi all, I'm quite new to Microsoft CRM, and I have the following problem: I need to implement a custom application within CRM where I can display the accounts in a hierarchical structure as a tree view, for example. I found out that you can do such things by writing your own web application and integrating this application within an iframe into CRM.     - Outlook connectivity Hi I have a laptop installation of the Outlook client which locks up whenever you try to use any of the crm functionallity such as track in crm. It will not display any of the crm pages either. There is no error message or time out it just sits there and does nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and this fixed it for a short preiod but a day later and I have the same problem.     - Migrating data using DMF into custom entity Hi, I have 3 custom entities to migrate in addition to a few system entities (accounts, contacts, tasks...). My custom entities are join to system entities. I wanted to migrate data using the DMF but I believe the data migration framework doesn't deal with custom entity. How can I migrate my data? Is it possible to change the DMF manually easily so I can insert my data? Can I use a dts package for these 3 additional tables? Do I have to develop something with the sdk from scratch?     - Master picklist values On my Account form, we need to track competitor information. Because the competitor component doesn't integrate with the Account form I have created a picklist with all competitor names. There are multiple picklist fields on the form to account for multiple competitors. Is there a way to set up a master picklist values? That I could have all of the competitor picklists refer to?     - Select Which Account Address When Creating Contact I have many accounts that have multiple locations. When I create a new contact, it would be very helpful if I could select which address a new contact should use when I create it. As a side note, does anyone know of any articles or user documentation written to guide the decision-making process of using a hierarchical account structure vs. multiple addresses? It seems like multiple addresses would help "keep things in one spot," as oposed to hunting around an account hierarchy to find the contact or other information you need. Thanks.     - Ownership Types and Workflow Clarification I am running into a huge problem with ownership. The online help (latest release) and training curriculum only briefly explain this as shown below. They say nothing however about the fact that you can't issue any WORKFLOW commands against Organization owned entities. So we set up a bunch of entities that, based on Microsoft's description, seem to logically be Organization owned items - things such as an end client's products, and not the end client Account themselves (which are system entities and user owned). Now that we're trying to implement workflow, it's looking like we'll need to deleate and totally create all the entities, and associate them as User owned. It seems like a major oversight that MS would not state the consequences of not using User ownership when you deploy Workflow in the documentation (or training), or at least make a recommendation to use it. Is there any way to convert ownership to Organization? Also, if assigning ownership to the Organization effectively disables the ability to ever issue workflow commands against those entities, and workflow is a key part of the system, under what circumstances would anyone ever have a need for Organization ownership? It seems like it provides no benefit and only limits your flexibility/options later. Is there any advantage to Org ownership vs. User?     - Filtering to view active and shared contacts We are running MSCRM 3.0. I understand that only one person may own each individual contact. But we have a situation where we have a large number of contacts, and only a very few of them are shared between users. I would like to share those specific contacts, then allow each user to use the view 'My Active Contacts' to see both the contacts they own as well as the few shared contacts. But I don't want the users to pull up the 'All Active Contacts' view because they would then see all the other users' contacts that are not pertinent to them. I don't think I have an option to customize the filter criteria for the 'My Active Contacts' view. So how can this end result be achieved? Any help would be appreciated.     - override unit price on opportunities We have added the ispriceoverridden field to the opportunity product form in an attempt to allow us to change the unit price for the product line. however the form does not then allow the unit price to be over-ridden. I notice the unit price ends up as 0.00. Is there something I have missed? Do I need to add an event to the field?     - Extranet / Partner Access Anyone have any recommendations for securely opening up CRM to a Partner Company who have a separate AD with their own domain. The Partner users will have a full cal, not using the external connector as we want them to use the full UI. Most Viable Options: a.. Create a child domain with a list of the Partner Companies users and then create a Secure VPN between sites, and only use the Web Client. When I bought CRM, I was told I had to buy Professional to get the accounting
integration. I run Small Business Server, and the Professional won't install
on it, only the Small Business version (even though I have the Professional
discs). So I just inquired, and found out that Small Business will work
w/the upcoming accounting integration. (and is actually better b/c it
integrates the faxing)

I'm a little bummed that I had to buy a much more expensive product that I
didn't need (& at the time, couldn't use). Is anyone feeling a bit burned by
this change in version policy?
