    - Credit Invoice I have read that many of us have the same problem and that Msft staff has said the issue is on the tracking database....how long before it is available? The temporal solution of creating a 0 quantiy 1 dollar value with the negative value in discount works, but you loose track of the items being canceled. The ideal solution will be to allow negative quantities...that way, if i sell 50 Unit A and 10 Unit B...I can make an invoice for -10 Unit A and -5 Unit B and CRM can calculate the totals based on the price list.     - Auto Populate Case Details Hi We would like for the serial number to be automatically populated once the product is chosen on the case form. I know that we have to use JScript and possibly use the OnChange Event so that as soon as the product is selected the serial number is populated. We are not too familiar with JScript and I was hoping someone could assist me.     - passing parameters I am trying to pass a network pathway to an iFrame but it's not working. I investigated the issue by printing to screen the crmForm.all.iFrame_Test.src value and see that it accepts only when I pass to it anything except for the " \ " character. Has anyone seen this before? In one of my other test environments I had no problems doing this and now it doesn't work. Is there a security attribute that I must activate? -- Thank you for the help!!     - The Basics Hello all! I am new to MS CRM. My background is mainly in Oracle Databases/Financial Applications, so my syntax needs some brushing up! I just have a few quick questions regarding the basics of CRM customization as the book I am reading contains very few examples. From the passages I've read in the book, it seems to be fairly simple to customize forms in CRM. I have been able to do some customization such as removing certain fields from forms, adding more business-specific attributes to forms, etc. However, I am having difficulty with what I believe to be, a core concept of CRM. I am trying to alter the Preview Window form for the Tickets entity. I want to display the Customer Phone Number on this form. My problem is, the phone number attribute is not a part of the Tickets entity. So I decided to create a custom attribute belonging to Tickets. Since a relationship already exists between Client and Ticket, I altered the Mappings under the Parental relationship and mapped the source field (telephone1) to the custom attribute. I added it to the Preview Form, saved, and published. I do not see the value in the field. My question is, am I completely misunderstanding the customization side of CRM? Can I only create new attribute fields and INSERT data into them and save them in this manner? Do I need custom scripting to retrieve the value from the Client entity to achieve my sought after functionality? I feel like I could go in any number of directions here, but I would like to achieve this functionality without scripting, if it is possible.     - Hidden report filter in CRM I created a report that involves accounts, opportunity and opportunity products. It works great in SRSS. After I import it to CRM, I clear off the default filters on accounts and opportunity entities. There is no filter visible on opportunity product. The report when run in CRM does not look right. When I did a trace, it seems that there is a filter for looking at opportunity products modified in last 30 days. However, when I edit the default filter, I dont even the opportunity product entity listed there. My question is how can I remove this filter from this report.     - Disable Quick Campaign What is the best way to disable - or better still hide - the quick campaign button for certain users? It doesn't appear to be itemized in the security roles. We can disable bulk emails etc, but would prefer that the button just doesn't appear at all.     - More on autopopulation I have recreated a clients business process through Leads and Opportunities and have created a custom entity much along the lines of an Invoice which is a child to the Opportunity. What I am trying to accomplish is to have the address and main contact information autopopulate on my custom entity. Since I am creating this Entity from an Opportunity (which has the lookup for the Account) there are no mappings available for me to pass information from the Account to my custom entity. How can I create a link to the selected account and have the information transposed into the Custom entity? I have creted a seperate look-up on my custom Entity to Accounts, but the only way that mapping would work is if I created an instance of the Custom Entity from the Account, this I do not want to do. So I do have the proper account appearing on the instance of my Custom Entity, but the question is how to get the address and the main constact info to autopopulate. -- Thank you for the help!!     - autofill form We need to autofill fields on the lead form with information from a sql database outside of CRM. We mail very large lists and each mailpiece has a unique barcode number that corresponds to a record in a table outside of CRM. The barcode would be scanned into a MailID field in CRM which would then need to do a lookup into the external database and fill in the associated records (Name, Address etc).     - Version mismatch detected History: We had CRM 1.2. About 1.5 yrs ago we upgrated that to v3.0 on a new SBS 2003 server. We are once again moving over to a newer SBS 2003 R2 server. We restored the databases to the new server. We downloaded the latest release of CRM, and ran the Migration wizard to reassign users. The wizard ran fine on the restored databases. Problem: Upon installing CRM on the new boax we get a "Setup detected a version mismatch between the specified database and the current product." Further investigating shows that it detected we have version 1.2. I can't find any posting related to this error. Has anyone seen this before or know how I can address this problem?     - Will CRM (and/or the Titan release) support ticketing for events? I'm trying to find a solution for a ticketing problem. This is in reference to tickets used for sporting events, theatres, etc. I've thought about using CRM Service Management Resource Scheduling as an engine, such as define 10 seats as resources and then create a web interface to allow for booking each seat for the 2:00 show, for the 4:00 show, etc. As seats are sold, the resource is blocked off as unavailable. When the seat is assigned, a customer is linked to the resource and billing can occur. Am I totally off the wall with this thinking or does this sound do-able? If there is someone that has already tried this please let me know. I do not want to re-create the wheel. If the Titan release will have this capability can that information be shared? The Microsoft case studies mention the Indianapolis Speedway but they use a stand-alone program to manage tickets. Our company is currently using a free "Firebird" sql db ("just as good as Microsoft" hah!) for ticket scheduling that traces back to the days of DOS...ugh...I would like to find a more modern product.     - Problem with the Callouts When I am creating or updating an account, a callout is getting triggered (POSTCREATE or POSTUPDATE) and data for some fields is fetched from some other Database, correctly. But when I refresh the Account then only fetched data from other database gets vanish.     - CRM 3 Bad Performance Hi, I have a big performance issue with CRM 3.0 installed on SBS 2003 : each access on any data will take up to 20 seconds to open the form (not only the first time...). This occurs even when the client is an IE (6 or 7) running on the CRM server with the admin account. I have read some suggestions in other threads talking about this problem, but nothing helped. The server is powerfull, there is no processor or disk activity when the freeze occurs. I used fiddler to see where it freeze, it's always at the same point : - /_root/homepage.aspx?etc=...     - Display Customer Information In Opportunity->Relationships I have a requirement to display Customer information (first name, last name, email, etc.) in the Relationships view of an Opportunity. So, once a user opens an Opportunity and clicks on Relationships to display the contacts for that Opportunity, I would like to add some of the columns from the Customer information to that view. We are also looking to bring our test and new development and production environments of CRM 3.0 online with mail functionality. (Right now we have a test system setup with no Exchange mail routing for CRM.) My question is this. In bringing up our new Exchange 2007 environment we need to add a small Exchange 2003 server for the CRM mail 'router'. What process do we install the 2003 server in our 2007 environment and what role / install do we use for the Exchange 2003 server to act as that critical router for CRM 3.0? Many of them (but not all), have reported that Outlook crashes constantly with the add-in installed, but if they uninstall it, Outlook is stable.     - Modify columns on Account view from Regarding button on email Hi all, I have added a custom field, Alias, to the Account entity. When users write a new email and click on the Regarding button to track it in CRM, they get an Account view to select the account. I would like to modify the columns to display the new field I have added because users need it to tell accounts apart. They cannot send emails from within that account in CRM because those emails do not go out.     - Primary Contact for an Account Have I got the process wrong but when I want to add a Primary Contact to an Account, I can either select somebody from the Form Assistant / Look up facility or select New from the Look Up form to create a new contact. However when New is selected, the contact record is not associated to the Account. I then have to edit the new contact to add the account that the contact belongs too. Hi. I understand slipstreaming hotfixes in CRM 3.0 is not a possibility (Or
not supported, anyway). I wonder if this will be made available in Titan?
Specifically for the clients - it would make life a whole lot easier for IT
staff who has to roll this out in an environment. Or better yet - deploying
the client via SMS or something similar.
