Hi,
I sent email to contact from MS CRM (with icelandic characters). When
viewing in Lotus Notes client all Icelandic characters are changed? I
recall this is a known issue right? Any solution to this ?

week numbers
Hi,
In MS CRM you have week numbers which aren't equal to the ones we use in the
Netherlands. CRM says that 1 januari is week 1, but that isn't correct for
us. For us is the first week of the year where we have 4 days in januari.
How could I change this? Microsoft Outlook does it correct.

Microsoft CRM Outlook Addin
At some cliënts a problem occurs with the CRM Outlook Addin. After running
fine a couple of days the Outlook Addin checkbox is disabled and cannot be
enabled again. All CRM functionality is missing then in Outlook. After
removing the addin and add it again CRM is working again. The cliënts have
Win XP SP2 and Outlook 2003 SP1. Other cliënts with the same configuration
are running fine all the time and don't have this problem. Is this a known

Urgent : adding Licenses problem
Our client has this problem
Current license evironment:
- 5 Sales Standard (CRM + SBS)
The client purchase additional 3 Sales Standard and 3 Customer Service
Standard, when they tried to add (thorugh deployment manager) the additional
3 Customer Service Standard it worked, however when they tried to add 3
Sales Standard they keep geeting error message "You do not have enough
Professional licenses to upgrade all of your Standard licenses to Sales
Standard licenses"
Our efforts:
we tried to delete the old key, then add the new key (3 Sales Standard) it
worked, however when we add the old key again (5 Sales Standard) it
ovewrites the 3 Sales Standard license key. When we trace the database
activities, apparently CRM update the License table not inserting a new
record. We have tried to contact Microsoft support in our region, but it
takes time (still hasn't got any progress)
guess:
- the client IT personnel made mistakes when acquiring the license keys
through the mbs website
- crm only allow 1 license key for each type (1 key for sales standard, 1
key for customer service standard ....) but this doesn't make any sense

After installing XP Service Pack 2, and the associated hotfix. I still get
a problem using the "Home" Navigation button at the bottom of the screen on
the Web Client.
I get "error on page" message.
Any thoughts on this?

Adding Status Reason field values not saving
When I edit the Case Form and modify the values on the Status Reason field,
my changes don't appear back in the case form under cases. I return to the
edit and my changes are there. I can preview them, just not use them. No
error messages given.
(MSCRM 1.2 GA - client is XP SP2 using IE to go to my MSCRM server.)

couple of questions,
I want to do customization but i have no spare servers to put this on..
1) can I create another _MSCRM & _METABASE database on the same SQLServer to
put these on & switch CRM to use these instead, how do i go about setting up
this ??

and failed every time for one reason or another. The most recent Action Pack
had an excellent white paper dealing with the installation of CRM and I
thought I would bite the bullet and find out what this product does.
I installed SQL and everything went well until it screwed up the SBS 2003
backup. Loaded the hotfix for that.
Got CRM working on workstation with XP2 (needed hotfix for that)
Event log started filling up with duplicate credential errors so I thought I
would try again. Funny thing is that the CRM database never showed in the
SQL Enterprise Manager but it worked. (Only the STS databases showed)
So, here is my question.
I have done an uninstall of CRM and now want to install again (sucker for
punishment)
I get an error that the database already exists when I try to install so how
do I delete whatever the reference is that the CRM install program
isreferring to? I deleted all .MDF files that relate to CRM.

Advanced Find needs to be able to find upcoming birthdays
Currently Advanced Find does not return any results when searching for
upcoming birthdays. This is huge lack in design and is purely being excused
with "By design" Please vote on this issue so we can gain tracktion and with
any luck get it fixed for V2.0

1. Enter contact | Set their birthday to be for example March 20th 1970
2. Do an andvanced find for Contacts | Birthday | This Month

Using Quote.dot Template
Hi,
Please bare with me as this is my first real time playing with this. I did
ask a question earlier in this in preparation of learning this but have not
looked at it since and now turns out I have a demo Friday and have to learn
it today and tomorrow in preparation.
My questions are these:
It creates a tabbed table for the Products and I have to manually clean it
up each time I create a Quote. What is is best way to deal with this for
Sales Reps who are not very Word Savy? Does Microsoft intend on fixing this
template so that it at least drops the products into a table which then you
can searched for and run a macro on? Or how can I change the the template or
coding to put it into a table when it merges? Any suggestions?
Also, how do I get it to put in the Contact Name to which the Quote was
generated from the Opportunity is attached? Do I have to customize the Quote
Form to pull that into the Quote, then I can use it in Mail Merging? Again
any suggestions?
Also, this is a more general question, how can I get it to display the Owner
name as first space last, not last,first?

Where can I get it back? Need it ASAP for a demo tomorrow!! Was there when

Duplicate Email Activities
Does anyone know how to get rid of the duplicate email activities
captured automatically in the history tab of an object?
When a workflow-generated email is sent, 2 activities are captured in
the history tab. Both with the same subject, but one has the GUID
appended to itself. This is frustrating the users terribly. :(
This is a standard problem on all installations...
I cant find any patches relating to this...

CRM 1.2 SDK / Retrieving contacts
Hello,
I have a simple problem: I need to retrieve all contacts
from CRM where [column] = [some value].
I've been attempting to do this via the Query proxy
object, building my query as follows:

This always results in a timeout. I've tried increasing
the timeout and still no good.

However - I need all contacts returned. not restricted by
createdon.
Any thoughts on why this fails? The code is very simple.

Workflow Activity - Sender/Recipient
When a sales process (workflow) activity (Phone Call, Letter, ..) is created,
is there any way that the sender and recipient fields can be pre-populated
with values. Can the sender field be populated with owner or logged in
user's name and the recipient field be populated with the owner of the
opportunity? It is frustrating having to fill in this data each time a
system generated activity is created.

Workflow Logic
Here is what I am trying to do and can't figure it out.
I want to create a new order processing rule that manages our internal
processes once an order is created. Here is the question:
The first step is a Phone Call Activity to thank the customer for the new
order. How do I tell CRM to email the manager if that call hasn't been made
within 48 hours? I don't want things to fall through the cracks and would
like CRM to notify management when activities are not completed.

MS CRM and my Company requirements
My company ideally needs the following from a CRM Tool:
- Contact/Client database with profile data
- Contact correspondance logging
- Product Database
- Proposal and Contract management
(access to the proposals and contracts stored per customer)
- Central document library
(where all our documentation is stored from product Functional specifications
to legal binding customer contracts)
- Secure online access to my CRM from any internet connected PC anywhere

Data Migration Failed
Hi Danny,
I have tried migrating data from Access database to MS CRM but nothing seems
to be migrated over...I have followed the steps exactly from the data
migration framework guide. below is the description of what I have done.
1) I have added additional fields to the schema and include the fields into
the form and I have too initialize the CDF to retrieve the info from MS CRM.
my cdf_<entity>_ext table has the additional columns in the database which I
have added.
2) when I perform a DTS to import data from Access to the CDF table, the
accounts table is successfully migrated but the cdf_Accounts_ext was not
successfully migrated. The migration has actuallly added the correct no of
records to the cdf_Accounts_ext but all the records has a null value. but
when i check the cdf_Accounts table, the data is correctly migrated to this
table
3) when i tried running the CDF migration tool, nothing is migrated
over...not even the records from cdf_Accounts table.
I have compared the data type n it matches correctly from the Access
database to the CDF database to the CRM database.
where did i actually go wrong?

Move entries from one field to another
Hi All,
During a database population, contact telephone fields were captured
into the telphone1 field and the result is that not telephone numbers
appear in the contacts view under business phone. I've considered
adding the Telephone1 column instead but wherever else the business
phone is used to display contact telephone numbers and the interface
doesnt allow for customizing the other views.
Is there a supported way that I could move all the numbers from the
telephone1 field to Business phone?

I have big troubles in CRM, when in MSOutlook use function "go-offline"
When I use this function all of new created contacts from CRM /from ALL
users/ are copied to folder Contacts in outlook /not only to crm offline
contacts folder/. When I use check box "do not uptade outlook" these files
are copied only to CRm offline folder, but I need copy new contacts from CRM
to outlook folder, but ONLY contacts created by me, when I go offline.

Workflows Exports and Restoring
Hi,
We are still working in a test environment. We have created some Workflow
Rules and Sales Processes. They have also been applied to some leads and
opportunities in this test database. These records are not being back up.
Some are partway through a sales process.
We are going to need to do another full migration of all the data from
Goldmine into CRM. Will it affect the Workflows? We have exported them, as
a saftey precausion, as backup, but will we have to import them back in? I
hope this makes sense.
Also, as another question, we are also importing in some new opportunities,
about 800 of them. Will these be automatically effected by the Sales
Processes if they meet the criteria and we leave the processes as Active.
Assuming yes, if they are active.
If we make the processes inactive, how to we then, once we activate them,
have them applied to the new opportunities. Sorry this is our first time
doing this.

Double E-mail Activities in Opportunity Question
Hi Everyone,
Doing my first Sales Processes, so please bare with me. I created a
multi-stage sales process which at a couple of point sends an e-mail to a
manager that a new opportunity has been created and one when it is Won or
Lost - similar to the one in the training binder. It sends correctly and the
messages are received correctly, but when I look at the history tab for the
opportunity activities, there are 2 e-mail items listed for each - one with
the GUID and one without. The withouts don't get sent, but the withs do.
Can anyone answer why there are 2 items listed for an e-mail, but not for an
e-mail template send? Should there not only be one for each?

Syncing Appointment/Tasks With Outlook Calendar
We keep having a problem when creating appointments and
tasks, they will not show up on the Outlook calendar or
task list. I can fix the problem by reinstalling the
forms: CRM appointment.fdm and CRM Task.fdm but does
anyone know how to fix this problem for good or know why
it happens after it works for awhile.

how to get internal email in the queue ?
Hi,
I know that an internal email that is forwarded to an emailaddress
that is setup as a queue will not arrive in ms crm, but I need to have
a workaround for this.
Any sugguestions ?

BizTalk2002.
The question here is can I run BizTalk2004 as the integration platform

Business Units
I have an organization with a top level Organization and the 4 subsidiary B
Uâ??s. This is all set up in CRM and the CEO can see leads across all BU's. The
problem that I am having is that a sales manager can also see all leads
through out the organization also ie, leads that they do not own and have not
been assigned to them. The sales manager BU is set so that members can only
see (read) the leads in their own business unit.

Each business unit is set to Role > Core Records > Business Unit (half
circle) Read, sales managers are still able to read records that are owned
by business unit members from other business units. I thought that this was
not to occur!
Again the structure another way:
The CEO â?? is in the Organizational BU â?? CEO Role â?? Organization Rights
All business units have the Organization BU as a parent
A sales manager is in BU A â?? Business Unit Rights of READ on
Account, Contact, Lead, Opportunity, Activity, Note are set to users
A sales manager is in BU B - Business Unit Rights of READ on
Account, Contact, Lead, Opportunity, Activity, Note are set to users
The sales managers can still see accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities,
activities of the whole organization.
These roles were duplicated from the original organization roles when BU A,
B, C, D were created.. Do I need to create new roles for each business unit
in order to limit the visibility the way that I am trying to set it up. So
that I business unit only sees a business units activities?

Business Units record seperation
I have an organization with a top level Organization and the 4 subsidiary B
Uâ??s. This is all set up in CRM and the CEO can see leads across all BU's. The
problem that I am having is that a sales manager can also see all leads
through out the organization also ie, leads that they do not own and have not
been assigned to them. The sales manager BU is set so that members can only
see (read) the leads in their own business unit.

Organization â?? CEO

Reinstalling Crystal Enterprise
At first, a French Version of CRM has been installed. Then it has been
disinstalled and an english version has been installed on top of it.
I realise today that the Crystal part is still in french as when it
asks for report parameter, The web page is in french.
I would like to know it there is any way of reinstalling the english
version of Enterprise forcing the correct language.
I would prefer not loosing the customised report but I could also push
them back into enterprise without too much problem.
Any body did that?

Is it possible to add a single option button for a
customized field? In the settings section I can only find
a Boolean type for this.
No, the check box is not available in this version ans I did'nt heard in
next too.
