Setting up referral partners

I am a bit new to CRM, but have been able to create new entities, etc., so I
can get my way through the system.

I am trying to create a way to have a set of referral partners/resellers.
These referral partners could then be assigned/tagged to leads/accounts
through a dropdown box. How in the world do I set this up?????

Well... 1 way is to create a new entity called Referral Partners, and
then create relationships to leads and accounts. That won't give you a
dropdown, but it will give you a lookup. But I suspect what you might
want to do is:

1) Review your workflow, and create opportunities if the project is far
enough along to identify a referral partner.
2) Use the built in Relationships functionality (set up relationships
first in the Customization section) to link multiple accounts (or
contacts) with accounts and opportunities.
