What happens if I use "Send Email" from an account level but it does not have
an email defined in its properties (the regarding to field lists the account
so activity gets properly tagged)?

Does it automatically go the primary contact mentioned on the account (who
happens to have an email address defined)?

Thanks,
BM

If there is no email address in the Account itself, after you press Send,
there will be an error message "At least one recipient does not have an
E-mail address or is marked as Do Not Allow E-mail"

Matt -

I inherited our crm administration. It looks like our Accounts form
(template) doesn't have a spot for an email address. Is that by default? I
am assuming to correct the error mentioned that I'll have to add an email to
the form.

There should be an email address field on the account form by default. If
not, you can go to the customization area and add the field back, then
publish your changes.
