    - Catastrophic Failure Error Good morning, I was hoping someone has come across this error that we seem to be getting in our system. Our system was fully operational last friday and for some reason it just suddenly decided to die on us. I have tried to sign on through Internet Explorer and it actually displays the message box for the username and password. But after clicking ok, I receive the error message below. Also, our Sales for Outlook seems to be having the same problem as well. I noticed a problem even before the IE log on issue when I tried to check for current users in our system through the Deployment Manager module. It wouldnt load properly saying snap ins didnt apply I think. I have tried to re-register mscrmsecurity service but no luck. Its registered properly. If someone could suggest a possible resolution to this error, I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks.     - Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook Removal I am unable to remove the 'Microsoft CRM' folder because it is read only and I can't seem to change this property. Furthermore I can not remove the program from the add and remove programs list because an error message comes up saying that CRM is no longer on the machine. The original user that had installed this software has been deleted from this machine. I need a way to make a registry edit so that CRM can be removed or installed under another user. Have a (potential) customer here who wants to set up a MSCRM 1.2 install across multiple remote sites, users in the remotes will be accessing via IE, any recomendations on the best way to set this up??? Some of these sites will not have a dedicated internet connection / VPN connection, is it possible to have multiple SQL servers syncing against the master database on a schedule?     - Manual Workflow Rule fails (v1.2) Hello I have a very simple Manual workflow rule (on Account) that updates a field on the Account. When I try to apply it (Actions>Apply Rule) the standard "an error has ocurred..contact administrator" appears 1) The instance never appears in the WF monitor at all 2) I have switched debugging on in web.config - no change 3) The MSCRM Event log is attached below 4) when I have EXACTLY the same action but have a rule triggered by Create (not Manual) it works fine 5) All other Manual rules fail in the same way, and regardless of the object (have tried Contact) 6) have rebooted server, stopped and started WF service, cleared all rules out and started from scratch.... any suggestions gratefully received - I am completely stumped and getting very annoyed.     - Big problems with a Query - help! Queries were nice until I ran into this. I've got a query that pulls the accountid, name, zip, and the parentaccountid fields from the accounts data. Get this - it REPLACES my parentaccountid field with something called "result_Id" and it's 1-x based on the row value. This is driving me nuts. How on earth can I return the parentaccountid? It's more than likely due to a foreign key issue, but...     - Schema Customizations We have a test crm server that contains schema changes for several customers. The work for one of those customers is complete but since our test system includes changes for other customers we cannot simply export are schema and import it into the completed customer's schema. I am hesistant to manually enter the required changes directly on the customer's system since a typing error requires in many cases that the db be restored. Another way to move the changes would be as follows: (1) export the test server schema to file A (2) export the customer schema to file B (3) move the appropriate xml from file A to file B (4) import file B back to the customer system I have looked at the xml files and it seems straight- forward.     - when trying to access CRM i get "0x80040E4D"-Error hello board, i had a working installation of ms-crm 1.2 on a windows 2000 server (sp4), with ms-sql 2000 (sp3). all was fine. now i have updated this server to windows 2003. after the update i could not access the ms-crm-webiste anymore. i get http://server/_common/error/errorhandler.aspx?errNum=0x80040E4D displayed. when i search at google (groups) i found this anwer from this board: >This error tends to indicate that the SQL authentication is failing.     - Incoming mail to crm activity. Where does it go? I have installed the email router on our Exchange server. Now I am able to sen outgoing mails from CRM that gets a guid to it. But when i reply to the mail I cant find the mail in any activity. No error messages what so ever.     - Method not Allowed after security updates Hello, I have had an application that was inserting Leads into my CRM 1.2 from web, using SOAP. After installing the 3 available updates last friday, and one security update from Crystal Decisions, this application cannot even authenticate to the CRM system. The error happens right after the WhoAmI method from the 1.2 SDK: User.WhoAmI() at test.Class1.Main(String[] args) in c:\\projects\\updatecrm\\test\\class1.cs:line 45 The user can log at the CRM web site fine.     - Inviting other users to an appointment When we create a new appointment in CRM, and invite other users also in crm, they don't get meeting invitiations. If we open the appointment in Outlook, we see the organizers name "First Last" and then the other users in the form "domainname\user1", and no free busy information is available. Unfortunately the functionality that you are requiring
requires a third party product. Scribe Corp. has an
application out that does this for you via a website you
create and then integrates the website into your customer
service module. I heard it was pretty robust regarding
the functionality that comes out of the box. However,
its a little pricy.

We use Scribe and it works very well for us.

It's a must have for anyone who is making any custom mods
to the CRM.
