    - Promoting emails without email Router I'm trying to implement the CRM and, due to infraestructure problems, I can't install the CRM Email Router. I intalled the CRM and clients with SFO. When I try to promote an incoming email i can do it without problems. But when I try to promote an outgoing email (from the sent items), a message appears saying "An error ocurred when trying to promote the email. Try again".     - Assign WorkFlow Loop Hi guys, I need to create an esculation layer of 3 levels on an assigned case to the owner of the case's manager. for example user 1 gets assigned case does nothing then gets assigned to user 2 (user 2 is user 1's manager) user 2 does nothing and this gets assigned to his manager etc my problem :( this is in infinite loop here because each time the case is assigned it starts at the top of the loop and evently bombs out when the object is assigned on user 2's level. for e.g When Case is assigned Send Email To Complainee Wait 1 day if Case.Statecode = active then Assign : User 2 ===> (Problem is here on the second assignment since this starts the loop again) Send Mail Case Re-Assigned wait 1 day end if if Case.Statecode = active then Assign : User 3 Send Mail Case Re-Assigned end if else if Case.Statecode <> Active then Send Mail Case Resolved end Damm Case escualtion is a bother with ms crm. On their appointments they work offline. In the evening they connect at home via VPN to company. They can go online and offline without error messages.     - Domain logon name case sensitive? Are Domain logon names case sensitive? I created a new user but used lower case on our domain, when all other entires are upper case. Mistake apparently. The new user gets 'unauthorized' when opening crm. From the same machine, I can set the IE setting for force a logon with my credentials and CRM is fine.     - Assign new contacts to the same owner as the account 's owner I would like to know if it is possible to use a workflow to assign a the contact of an Account to the same owner as the owner of the account. I explain. I have to salespersons working on the same accounts but all the accounts are owned by only one of the two salespersons. If the first salesperson create a contact, he will be the owner of the contact but I would like to make a workflow to assign this contact to the other owner who is the owner of the Account this contact belongs to.     - Need help with deploying the integration system at client's site Hi Guys, Well, the project (Microsoft CRM - Syspro Integration) that I have been working on is finally over. I have the entire system up and running at my side. Now I have to deploy it at our client's site and I need some help with that. Here are the details: My office machine has Windows XP Professional OS and I did not have another machine running Windows 2000 Server OS which is required to install Microsoft-CRM Server and Microsoft BizTalk Server when I started this project. So I used Microsoft Virtual PC (VPC) in which I have Windows 2000 Server OS running. I installed Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft CRM Server, Microsoft BizTalk Server, Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for SQL Server, and Microsoft Visual Studio .Net on that. Thus the entire development is done on VPC and now I want to shift everything from VPC to our client's server. Here is the list of things that I need to transfer: 1. Temporary tables, Triggers, and Stored Procedures from VPC-SQL Server 2. Jobs from VPC-BizTalk Adapter for SQL Server 3. Channels and Message Ports from VPC-BizTalk Messaging Manager 4. Installed Windows Services (developed using C#) I know that, I have to install fresh copies of Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft CRM Server, and Microsoft BizTalk Server on our client's server. But how can I transfer all the development work I have done at my side so far using these tools? Also do I have to install Microsoft Visual Studio .Net on our client's server for the Windows Service to work?     - Having an Instalation issue, HELP I am installing CRM 1.2 and having some issues. I am installing over TS but same issue from the console I am installing with windows server 2003 I am installing with SQL 2000 sp3a (new install) SQL and SQL are on the same box OK as I install I put the key in no problem I put the sql server in , and create new database no problem Pick my domain and orginizational name no problem Pick defrault web site and installation directory No problem I choose a domain user account, that is a domain admin and every other type of admin looks like no problem I click install Looks good Then BAMB I get this error: Setup was unable to install Microsoft CRM Server Setup was unable to add the account to SQLAccessGroup in Avtive Directory. A constraint violation occurred. (8007202F) When i look at the DC I see the Orginization name in AD. When I look inside the Orginization i see SQLAccessGroup type: Security Group Granted im a cisco engineer not a MS wiz but i dont understand why this is happening. Please any help would be great.     - Quote Template I just reviewed the information from Matt on modifying the Quote.dot template and I am still unable to get it to work properly. This is my first attempt at trying this to so please be patient. I have copied the quote.dot, copied in our corporate styles and text, and used the Insert Merge Fields to insert some of the fields I need into the Quote Template such as Potential Customer, Quote ID, Revision number, Bill to Address lines, but I am unable to find how in insert the Contact Name and Title. I tried attaching to the database source, but not sure which of the 2 tables or fields contains what I want. Tried a couple but it gave me errors. The first time I tried I used a quote with only 1 product and it worked OK. I tried it again with a quote with 2 products and it did not work. I am struggling here. Can you please point me to some information on how to locate these fields, and to correctly setup the merging for multiple products on a quote. Thanks so much!     - Deployment Manager Snap-in Failed In MSCRM 1.2 we tried to create a new Business Unit with a new name. This caused users in our original BU to have problems, so we tried to delete the new BU after moving all users back to the initla BU. In the process, MSCRM failed and we get a snap-in failure message when we try to open the Deployment Manager. We have verified within Active Directory that all users have the propoer permission. From what I've read seems like only Great Plains, and supposedly Navision (when CRM 2.0 comes out) will be directly made to work with CRM.     - Installation Question Hello, 1. I am running CRM 1.2 on SBS. It has sharepoint on it and two nic's. I created a Web Site called CRMSite an assigned it to one of the nic's. It looks like the Default WEbSite is already using port 80, so I stopped it. I can get to the web site using Http://CRMSite. I only installed the first disk. It created a program group with a couple of tools and no doc's. I need the doc's, but when I try and run the Workflow manager it fails. What should I do next?     - Disappearing .SRF mapping One of our clients had a situation yesterday in which some of our customizations, which had been running fine, inexplicably stopped working. What we ultimately discovered was that the app mapping for the .srf extension in their MSCRMServices virtual directory had disappeared, breaking the CRM SOAP interfaces. Luckily, manually re-adding the mapping fixed things. We're still scratching our heads as to how this happened, though. Has anyone else experienced this, and do you know why?     - Import via CDF I use CDF to import Data into CRM After the initialization i try to import Data from one Source into the Account AND the Account_ext table. Do I have to do more than publish customizations and restart IIS on my CRM
server in order for the customizations to show in Sales for Outlook? I tried
just publishing and restarting and the change didn't show in Sales for
Outlook. Does it just take longer?

I seem to remember reading that you have to do at least one offline sync for
the customizations to populate down.
