    - SFO sync looping Hi I've noticed that when I take SFO offline, the progress dialog box will refer to the table being processed. The message goes like: "Processing Article xxxxxx". Then there will be a message about the number of records updated, inserted etc. What puzzles me is that the same table is processed several times, so you may get a sequence of tables processed and then it will start over doing some of the tables once more.     - Data Loss in the Opportunity (CRM 1.2) Hi, I would like to check on the opportunity reports on the closed opportunity by opportunity Won-Lost Report. However, I found all the records are WON status. It's quite strange that we are sure there should be no such possibility. Then we go to the opportunity module to list the closed opportunity, the data in the previous are lost. We never delete the record on the closed opportunities. We check on the database, the data is lost also. In this few days, CRM security services & Crystal Report Services hang. We need to Cold boot the Server to reactivate the services.     - Customised forms and Outlook As far as I understand whenever you customise a form that is to be used with Outlook, the customisation should automatically be pushed out to SFO (Sales For Outlook). However, this does not appear to happen immediately, because I tried a test yesterday and it has taken until today to publish the specific customisation within Outlook, it is fine within CRM it is published immediately. I have tried this again today with a different customisation and the same is happening. So I guess my question is two fold: 1, Is there a time delay between publishing within CRM & the customisation getting published to the Outlook Client? 2, If so, is there any way to get rid of this delay? Because CRM access TEMP folder and McAfee block something in TEMP folder, I have an error message, I fond the solution in KB of Microsoft but it's not what we need.     - CRM server powered down I have had a power outage in the server room, and the CRM server powered down (not through a standard shutdown). Since rebooting nobody can log in to CRM now.     - Credentials Timeout I have been reading through some of the posts about login problems I have taken some advice and added my crm server to the intranet zone in IE and also set the option to automatically login to intranet zone. The problem I have is if I set this up the machine seems to 'drop out' of crm after about 15 minutes. This causes a page cannot be displayed on the crm and also the avaya integration comes up with 'invalid parameter' if a call comes in. The way to fix this is to press ctrl-alt-del and lock the computer and then unlock and put the domain password in again. This has pointed me to the fact that the domain credentials seem to be 'timing out'.     - Creating user after big mess up I had an issue with license and followed a recommended procedure of removing and reinstalling the license. Now I have locked everyone out of CRM! I can't add users through Deployment manager it gives me the error: "The user has not been granted any licenses or the user has not been assigned any roles (80042f09)" I can not open CRM because there are no users installed.     - Using CRM Application Pool for Custom ASP.NET application Hi All I am having 2 server based CRM configuration set that is CRM database is on other server, My intallation on multi server went well and CRM is working fine. I have asp.net application which also uses the same database server as CRM and it is deployed on CRM web server.     - ISV.Config not recognising changes Hi I am trying to add ToolBar buttons to the Account form for using the MapPoint web service. I have added the required code to the ISV.Config file, but am not seeing any sign of the buttons on the form. I have re-started IIS (using iisreset) on the server following the change I have renamed all other instances of isv.config on the server I have even added some mal-formed XML to the file to see if I can break it, and CRM just keeps coming up unchanged as usual.     - Problem when adding an appointment in CRM from the SFO ver. 1.2 When the users make an appointment in the SFO, its fails. The SFO makes the activity on the contact, but the Outlook synchronisation fails. The appointment does not appear in the Outlook calendar. Then we reinstall the appointment form in Outlook, clear the forms cache, and the problem is resolved. Then after some time (weeks) the problem comes back. Any ideas? Currently we use a product called Visual CRM, which works in conjuntion with our Visual Manafacturing... thye both use the same database, however we do not really use the CRM module of visual that much.     - I am not able adding my userid to CRM user During the CRM installation and learning time, I added my usename to some of the account created by CRM installation. Later I understood the right way to add users and added 3 user to CRM. The process was fine for two user but give an error with my username. Now I have 2 user running and 1 username shown in the CRM userlist, but with no rights and no licence assigned. Anyone could tell me how I delete my username and reassign it?     - Question about CRM Server migration HI, I would like to put my CRM app Server onto a new machine. Actually, the apps are on one machine, SQL is on another one and AD is on a third one. I would like to know if the only thing I have to do is to install CRM server on the new machine and specify to use old data and old AD. Question : - What happens with form customization? Do I need to do a "Deployment manager full deploy"? - What happens with custom report that has been deployed? - Is there any way to make SFOulook client point to the new server? Should I be better removing the old machine from the network and using the same machine name for the new one? That way I would avoid having to modify lots of client configuration?     - Case reports Hi Guys, we are using CRM for logging our service calls but have a few issues which I hope someone might be able to help with. Firstly, when logging onsite visits we are recording them as appointments but we need to report on these to automatically produce onsite job sheets, incorporating information from the appointment, case and account records. I've created a report in Crystal with varying degrees of success as it seems to miss of information from Account records and also doesn't seem to restrict the report to Appontment activities, despite my filter. Has anyone else done anything like this successfully? Secondly, we would like to be able to offer our customers some form of update on their case history, either via a report or restricted viewing to their case history. I know there are a couple of 3rd party plugins which allow remote access to CRM but on investigation these seem horrendously expensive & OTT for us. Does anyone know if it's possible to automatically email a report at a certain time, perhaps via the workflow manager? We could then create a Case Activity by Case report for each customer and email it daily. Finally (honest!) does anyone know if the next version of CRM has any better interaction between the Outlook plugin and the Service side? We are running 1.2 and it's really annoying that you can create a new lead, opportunity, quote etc from an incoming email but not a case!     - Sent Mail Question I'm new to CRM 1.2 so patience please. It appears that if I send a mail message to a Contact that I have in an Account in CRM 1.2 that the only record of that activity lies within CRM. Looking in my Sent Mail folder I find no record of the action. Environment: SBS 2003 Exch Svr 6.5.7226 (SP1) XP-Pro desktop I send the mail within the CRMweb site as an Activity associated with a Contact. The sent mail appears in the Contact's History but for some reason MS elected not to order these by Date (at least not that I can figure out). More importantly to me, I have no single screen showing all mail activity to an Account organized in date order. My hope was to set up a separate folder for each Account in Outlook's Sent Mail so that I could aggregate all sent items in one location that would be ordered by date. This organization of data is supported in Outlook's Business Contacts Manager and is quite handy. I don't see that capability in CRM so the idea of organizing them in Sent Mail subfolders is actually a work around to get CRM to give me the functionality experienced in Outlook's Business Contacts Manager.     - Workflow e-mail opportunity info I have created a workflow that sends the VP of Sales an e-mail when a new opportunity is created that is greater than a certain value and that part is working fine. I am including the opportunity name and the estimated value without a hitch. But I have been unsuccessful in attaching the "opportunity customer" (which appears to be a field in the deployment manager) nor can I get the "opportunity owner" to appear in the e-mail. I currently have CRM running and it is functioning well with the WEB
interface. I have now installed the Outlook plugin and have it functioning.
However, there seems to be a problem with one peice. When I create a CRM
E-mail, the REGARDING button does not work. I can not associate it with an
account and therefore it only gets associated with the contact.
I am running Outlook 2003 on a Windows 2003 Terminal Server.
All other functions seem to be working so far.

Sales for Outlook is not supported on a Terminal Server. Even if you could
get it to work, it will only be a single user application (ie it will only
work for the user that installed it)
