    - Outlook CRM desktop client can't create personal stores Hi, I'm trying to install the Outlook CRM desktop client on Outlook 2003 SP2 on a Windows 2003 R2 SP2 Terminal server , which is also hosting an Exchange Server 2003 installation and is a domain controller. I know, bad practice, not supported, but the machine is just serving for about 8 users. The CRM server is on an other server. I installed the client succesfull on some other machines, including terminal servers, using the same user account. The user is domain admin. We have problem in exporting Marketing List data to excel.Dynamic Pivot table or Direct both the options are failed to export the data. It throws an exception like "SQL Server Connection failed/access denied" and when i try to use SQL Authentication , the same error continues. Note: the Client Machine is in the same domain.     - Security Model Design Question Poke a Hole in this Security Model! I think I have a pretty good security design, but wanted a second opinion :). The following Security model works â?? however, I have to lock the user out of Excel downloads and Mail merges so that the user canâ??t download the companyâ??s entire contact list. Am I overlooking something that would allow users to own individual Accounts and Contact, yet preclude others from seeing opportunities attached to contacts they own? Background Assumptions 1 â?? Some sales reps are organized Geographically â?? others are organized Functionally (by industry). 2 â?? Sales Reps from different divisions of the company will call on the same Account and Contact. 3 â?? All Accounts and Contacts will be owned at the corporate level so any sales rep can see and attach their opportunity to the contact 4 â?? Sales Reps can only view others Opportunities IF they are in the SAME business unit. If a rep is in a different business unit, the rep should NOT be able to see another business unitâ??s opportunities. 5 â?? If we were to allow individual sales repâ??s to own contacts, then, they could see ALL attached opportunities to that contact regardless of the opportunityâ??s ownerâ??s business unit (which would violate requirement #4 above). Security Role Setup 1 â?? Sales Rep can view/edit/append to all Accounts (accounts owned centrally by a single user) 2 - Sales Rep can view/edit/append to all Contacts (contacts owned centrally by a single user) 3 â??     - Page Cannot Be Displayed.... I have 2 clients that have intermittent loss of access to CRM 3.0 via the web browser. One is running XP, the other Win 2000. I have applied all patches and updates to Windows, Office, CRM and CRM Client, everything. There are times it will work one minute and not the next, and sometimes it will work for a day or 2. The Browser says Page Cannot be Displayed. Trying to access CRM through Outlook give an error saying something about an Authentication error. (I don't have the exact error message at this time).     - Querry Builder: No Attributes We have recently deleted some attributes from within our Account screen and have added some additional ones. Now when we go to Relationships and click on Mappings between our Account and Lead Enities we get a "Querry Builder: No Attributes". Has anyone seen this and how do we work around this?     - All my Product CDF import records are being rejected - why? I have carefully followed the CDF documentation regarding the mandatory fields yet all my products in the CDF are being rejected.     - Customizing CRM CRM experts, We need to create a list of tasks to be completed under a certain entity within a form. This is not a problem, I can create new fields in check box form: Take pictures [ ] Check Trailer Number [ ] Blah Blah [ ] ...not a problem. But what we need to do is have only the first one in the list enabled, and the rest of the list either grayed out or invisible until the first one is checked, and so on.     - CRM speed sometimes very slow Hi, were using CRM 3.0 in our company. Its installed on a Windows 2000 SP4 server with an Athlon XP 2000+ and 2 Gigs of Ram. We have only 2 people using CRM, so the server shouldnt be that busy ;) ... In most cases our CRM runs very smooth, page loading times don't exceed 1 second. But sometimes, it takes about 30 seconds or longer to open a page, no matter what page you click. I have done a lot of investigation myself. The caching tool is already installed, i have raised the maximum HTTP-connections to 10 and i have modified the stage.js so that HTTP headers exire immediately. What else can i do?     - Linking Accounts and Contacts during Import Can anyone tell me if it is possible to link accounts and contacts when they are being imported into CRM? My scenario is as follows: - I have a list of contacts who all work for Account ABC - Account ABC has one primary contact I wish to import the account details for Account ABC and all of the contact records. I then would like all of my contacts to have Account ABC displayed in the Parent Account field of their contact record. I would also like all of the contacts to be listed in the Contacts section of Account ABC and for the Primary contact field to be populated on the Account ABC record. I understand that this can't be completed using the Bulk Import, and I have used the GUID export method to bring in the primary contact on the account record, or to bring in the parent account field on the contact record. However, I can't see how to populate both the primary contact field and the parent customer field. Would the Data Migration Framework or a third party tool (Scribe?) be able to achieve this for me?     - Help! Setfocus problem i ave a dropdown field on the first tab. I use setfocus so that it selects a different field to stop users scrolling down and changing the selection on the load event.     - Price List - Pricing methods Hi group, my question is about Pricing methods in Price List Item entity. I clearly understand the purpose of the field itself, but options "Precent Markup..." and "Percent Margin..." mislead me. I tried playing around with it and I perfectly understand what the "Percent Markup..." option does (please, correct me if I am wrong: resulting price = price + % of the price), but it's the "Percent Margin..." which I don't understand. Another not understandable thing is that I can use only values from 0,00 to 99,99 for the margin percentage. This could be more linguistic problem since English is not my mother-toungh, but translation I get from various dictionaries of words "margin" and "markup" mean exactly the same in my mother-toungh (Russian). Reading CRM Help doesn't really help here, cause the description of the options are totally equal to me.     - New Computer Synchronization Good morning. I have a CRM client who had a desktop and I just gave her a new laptop. I loaded CRM on the laptop and received a message saying that I need to set the computer to be the synchronizing client for this user.     - Authentication Error When Working Offline With CRM We have a user that will receive an Authentication Error when working Offline with the CRM Client. It's the same error that appears when you try and access CRM with a disabled or non-existent account. When the users Goes Online with CRM everything works fine. It sounds like it happens when the user is browsing the CRM folders and starts switching between folders then it will appear. Hitting Try Again a few times eventually brings the page up but then the error comes back soon after. IE is setup ok, no kerberos errors nothing out of the ordinary. I had turned on tracing and it did report a SQLTimeout Error. The user is running SQLExpress with the CRM V3C client with all patches applied.     - Changing a User's Business Unit From a user record I go to Actions - Change Business Unit and then select the BU that I want to move the user to. After clicking OK, I get a message saying: "You do not have enough privileges to access the Microsoft CRM object or perform the requested operation." I have been given full access to everything, so I don't know why I can't change it. I also tried moving another user who is no longer with the company. Their record is still active, but is never logged on as another user. This caused some problems as my system froze and no one in the organization was able to load the CRM.     - URGENT!! Bulk Import - Account with Address (More Addresses) Hi, I am trying to do bulk import of a list of accounts which also have "shipping address" along with the Primary address. I used Bulk import tool in the CRM 3.0 and did mapping with "Primary address" with " Address 1" fields and Shipping Address" to "Address 2 fields". But after the import i find that Primary address available in the General screen of the Account but "Address 2" fields mapped should appear in "More Addresses" section which it didnt appear. I checked with the database table customerAddressbase to find both the address (Primary and Shipping) available in the table with all require information but shipping address not appearing.     - CRM Report: Problem with "Jump To URL" Hi, I use the report in a CRM Application. In a textbox I want an hyperlink and in the Texbox Properties --> Navigation --> Jump to URL option i include something like this: = "javascript:void(window.open('" & Fields!url.Value & "','_blank'))" but don't open a link in a new window. I click on the link and it doesn't work The identic HTML Code in a .html page work and open a new window but don't work into ReportViewer in the CRM solution.     - CRM Exchange Router Hi, We have setup 2007 Exchange Server in our office, and still have a 2003 Exchange server, I have downloaded the updated CRM Exchange router that supports 2007 exchange enviroment and kept the crm mailbox on the 2003 server. All other mailboxes are now on 2007. Since this upgrade we are now unable to get any emails into our CRM queues. We have also carried out the Rollup 2 Update on the CRM server. If i look into the crm mailbox through outlook, i can see the email arrive at the inbox, it then trys to deliver it to CRM Queue, but is unable to and bounces back into a folder within the crm mailbox called undeliverable. An event log is also recorded as failed. If anybody has any suggestions I would appreciate your help. I feel like I have tried everything possible.     - Incoming Email Routing We have MSCRM 3.0 set up on one server and MS Exchange 2003 and CRM Router installed on a second server. Outgoing emails from CRM work fine nbut when a client responds to an email it goes into the agents personal Outlook inbox, is forwarded to the CRMMAil mailbox but does not appear in CRM. Two good references to have would be Mike Snyder's book "Working with
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0" and the Microsoft Official Curriculum for CRM for
the Microsoft course #8525 which you can order from a Microsoft training
partner or your CRM partner.
