I would like to know if it is possible to report on custom MSCRM fields
without Crystal Enterprise? Reading the Microsoft Reports FAQ says to log
onto Crystal Enterprise and update the available fields by verifying the
database. I do not have Crystal Enterprise on my computer so verifying the
database throws errors. I have been modifying the standard MSCRM Crystal
reports and then importing them using MSCRM Report Manager. This has worked
fine but doesnâ??t allow me to report on custom fields. Is there a work around
for reporting custom fields if you do not have Crystal Enterprise?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

crystal enterprise is on the crm web server. You do not need it on your
computer. All you need is a copy of crystal reports 9.0 - actually 9.2.2.

You would then launch crystal reports on your computer, click file - logon
to aps server which connects you to the crm web server.

now you can open up an existing report from the enterprise folders and go
database-verify database etc to add your custom fields.

I read your suggestion in the FAQ, but I did not see a logon to aps server
option under the file menu. The crystal documentation says that if an aps
server can't be found the option doesn't appear, which led me to believe I
had to have enterprise on my computer. I have Crystal reports 9.2.0.448
developer edition, perhaps this is the problem. If that is the problem, is
there an upgrade to 9.2.2?

Thanks for your quick response.

you need exactly 9.2.2

as you have a 9 license you can now get 9.2.2 by contacting businessobjects
and asking for it. They will validate your crystal 9 license then either
send you 9.2.2 or give you a download location
