    - Help!!! Unbelievable!!! Cannot Add Account... Hi All. This is just great. I can no longer create Accounts. And... if I go into a contact and try to associate an=20 account I can not complete it. Both of these efforts get an "error, please contact your=20 system administrator" When I try to add the account to the contact I get four=20 errors in the application log from the server; 2 from CRM=20 and 2 from SQL. I'll post them below in case anyone has=20 the patience to read them. The 4th one concerns me where it mentions MAXDATAROW. I=20 have read everything I can find in this newsgroup to try=20 to get a clue on this. I saw only one other post in which=20 someone mentioned not being able to add a contact or an=20 account. In trying to help someone mentioned the SQL=20 transaction log limiting something. Does any one know=20 about this? Unfortunately my last backup was 2 weeks ago (shame on=20 me/vacation). I did restore to that point and then I do=20 not have any problems. But then my SFO clients are getting=20 errors like contact does not exist etc; I did use some queries to check the integroty of the=20 database too (check alloc) and nothing comes back with any=20 errors. WAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!     - XP SP2 and reports Hi all The PCs which have sp2 cannot access reports. We get Crystal license error. If we use a PC without Sp2 reports work fine.     - Contact activity history I am currently prototyping the installation of MS CRM and I have spent a while looking at activities on contact records. What I want to do is to be able to sort the activity records by the date/time they were created (something I would have thought was a fundamental to a CRM system).     - Custom fields showing as Number type in Crystal but Picklist in CRM I've just installed Crystal Reports (9.2.2) and connected it to my CRM 1.2 database. I notice that custom fields I've added as Picklist type fields in CRM are appearing as Number type fields in Crystal, and therefore showing a number (eg 3) rather than the expected picklist item (eg 'Mobile').     - Change the Caption in Opportunity Window When I am in the opportunity window, the caption shows 'Opportunity: TestOpp' in yellow color. I would like to customize it to include account name there to make it look like 'Opportunity: TestOpp. Account:TestAccount'. I could change it in the custom pages(nav bar) using ' top.stage.tdTitle.innerHTML = <<Prefix>> + ": " + <<Title>>;' But how do I do it on the Information Tab or Navigation tab.     - Views or Sort by Business Unit I have an organisation with a top level Business Units and the 6 subsidiaries. This is all set up fine in CRM and the CEO can see leads across all BU's but for example a sales person can only see leads etc within their own business unit. Question is how can I provide a facility for CEO to be able to select to list just Leads (or opportunities, contacts, accounts) within a given business unit?     - Duplicate records in CRM Is there any way to enable CRM to detect duplicate entries for accounts and contacts? For example, when we add a contact for a particular company, we would like the CRM to check whether a person with such and such name already exists for the account and display a warning of some sort. For small sets of data, users can check for duplicate records themselves before adding new data, but once the data set grows, this becomes troublesome. Another example, one salesperson could add account ABC, Inc and later on another salesperson could attempt to add the same account as ABC, Inc or ABC Incorporated without realizing it was already there.     - problem with corrupted security roles I have a MS CRM setup at a customer site where everything was working fine up untill today. All users could log on to the system and work with the data linked to there BU. Everything was working as it should. But for some very strange reaon from today on users can't access there data anymore! They can still log in to the system but get an "access denied" error all the time while accessing diferent functionallities (e.g. Leads, Opport., Accounts, contacts, Products, Notes, Activities, ...). There has been no administrative action on the system for a couple of days now. Maybe a SQL maintanance task did something, I have no idee but the security roles seem to be corrupted. Is there anyone that has experienced the same problems and maybe knows what caused it, but most importantly knows what to do to solve it??!!! Any comments are very welcome ....     - Exchange Router I have installed the Exchange router and set up a queue as described in the installation guide, but when I send a mail to the address it doesn't show up in the queue ? Is there any way to monitor/configure/troubleshoot the exchange router ? Can I see that is running and is it anywhere in the Exchange System Manager.     - CRM exam change Hi, I have just tried to rebook onto the 03-030 Microsoft CRM Applications Professional v1.2 exam through Pearson Vue and have been told the exam length is now 95 minutes, when previously it was only 45 minutes. I have looked on Microsoft's web site and there is no information about any changes to the exam. I was wondering if anyone new of any changes except for the exam length.     - Exchange Configuration We encounter the following issue with the Microsoft CRM Exchange Router: The exchange setup consists of two exchange servers 2000 (latest SP), one internal server with the exchange store installed, and one exchange server with the MTA installed. The External mail server has several SMTP connectors to proces mail for the various subdomains. There is also a SMTP connector installed for the CRM subdomain. We installed the Microsoft CRM Exchange Router on the external machine as prescribed in the installation guide. The Exchange Router does not accept incoming messages with the CRM tag in the subject. Those messages are not marked as 'CRM messages' and do not appear in the CRM application. The connection between the Exchange Server and the CRM server is set up correctly and appears to be functioning. Regular mail to the CRM subdomain functions correctly so this issue is not DNS related. We have installed the most recent versions of the CRM Exchange Router patches. My conclusion is that the Exchange Router does not know to which SMTP connector it should listen, and is probably connected to the wrong connector. Is there any way to configure this?     - Coming up against SQL 8K byte limit Hi, Any ideas what is the correct way to total up the size of the row in SQL? I used the SQL "Design Table" to get the length of each column and total up all the bytes and it came up to 4396 bytes. The number of columns for the table is 197. So if this is the case, why would I get a error adding more fields into the table thru the Schema Manager? I was able to add a integer field, but not a field with string of 20 length.     - CRM login problem in IE Recently some of our CRM users have started facing the login problem through IE. As soon as they enter their username and password, the IE close down. The strange thing is that same user is able to login from an other machine.     - CRM 1.2 and upgrade of OS We're trialling CRM and I've just upgraded by CRM server from Win2K to Windows 2003. Having cured the MDAC problems, I'm left with a problem where my CRM Security Service refuses to start. Trying to start it manually gives me a message (after about a second) saying that it refused to respond within 30 seconds. I've tried running the CRMSecurityService.exe program manually with the debug option, but no information is forthcoming. In addition, the Crystal services don't start up automatically - though they will if prodded manually (we've put in the dependencies on the SQL Server service) Any ideas or suggestions?     - How can I specify the recipient in an email template? I need to notify internal users when an opportunity has been won. I used the standard e-mail template "Won Opportunity" with a workflow rule so that when an opportunity status changes to "Won" the rule fires off and sends an email and creates a task. This works fine. But the email is sent to the primary contact for the account. I want the email to go only to internal users. The template description states that it is "internal" but when I create a "send email" action from within the rule, the "To:" box is disabled and I cannot specify the receipient. I can add users as "cc:" but the recepient defaults to the primary contact of the account. From reading the help files it appears that templates are associated with a CRM object (account, lead, contact) who is by default going to be the receipient of the email created with the template. But I want to send the email only to interanl users. And I want to be able to reference CRM objects (like below) that apparently I can do only in a template. This is an automatic Microsoft Customer Relationship Management notification to inform you that today we won the {!opportunity:name;sales } opportunity from {!opportunity:customerid/@name;a customer} with a revenue of {!opportunity:estimatedvalue;revenue currently not available}.     - Multiple users owning the same queue Hi Folks, I'm looking for a few ideas. In our environment, we have a team of support staff that all handle cases via email. A typical case might go like this: 1) A client sends us an email requesting support. 2) One of my support staff replies 3) the client sends a reply 4) A second staff person answers the reply 5) etc... Has anyone tried renaming the side tabs in the Contacts
form? Specifically the "More Addresses" label?

Realised that the "More Addresses" comes in very handy
for storing unlimited numbers of records for a contact.
So just need to make the label more relevant...

THere are some posts on this group that address modifiying (in an unsupported
manner) changin these values. It involves editing the resource file and
regenning the DLL's.

Try a Google search on the group.
