    - Multiple entries in CRM Contacts when viewed from Outlook Hi everyone, We have an odd problem going on here with this. When we create a new E-mail in Outlook, select the To button and the CRM Contacts, it brings up the list of contacts from CRM that we can select from. All good so far. The problem is that each contact appears several times and it's different for different users. For example, every contact appears 6 times for me. It makes for a very long list. All of them are valid and any one of those 6 can be selected and the address will be correct and it will track against the correct contact. Other users have anywhere from the correct amount (1 of each contact) up to 4 of each contact. My system was used for initial testing as were some of the others that are showing multiple entries. I have tried uninstalling CRM from this PC, removing all mention of it anywhere on the PC and re-installing again. No change. I also tried to Synch Outlook with CRM from within Outlook. No Change. I'm guessing there is an address book cache somewhere on the PC. Does anyone know if that is the case? If so, where is it and what can I do to remove/restore it?     - Email merge to muliple contacts no ability to attach a file If we do a mail merge to multiple contacts the merge process which utilises Word doesn't allow us to attach a file. At least 50% of our email communications to our marketing lists require attached files to the emails. We have to create a spreadsheet of the view and save the email address which we paste into an Outlook email then attach the file and send. This by-passes the history record against the contact.     - Create an Iframe to point to an entity's related View Hi Guys is it possible to create an Iframe that points to a custom entity's related view? For example Cutom Entity A has a relationship with contact (contact is the primary) I want to create an Iframe elsewhere in CRM that will show me the assosicated view of the custom Entity when I pass it the contact object id.     - external connector Hi, I am just wondering what kind of license we would need if we are to create an online system that will integrate with MS CRM 3.0. The online system will have its own database. We would like to integrate our database with the CRM db. Clients will access the system through the internet.     - Setting up referral partners I am a bit new to CRM, but have been able to create new entities, etc., so I can get my way through the system. I am trying to create a way to have a set of referral partners/resellers. These referral partners could then be assigned/tagged to leads/accounts through a dropdown box.     - Disqualified/Inactive record search in CRM hi I am keen to know if under contacts/leads/companies one can search for inactive records. I cant seem to be able to do this. Even if i select inactive contacts/disqualified leads and search for names under those views CRM does not display any records when i know they are there and i can see them in SQL.     - No Settings tab in browser? - NOT a repost! I'm an admin on the CRM server, and am listed in the CRM users list as a System Administrator. I know about the issue with having Outlook CRM open at the same time. On my workstation, I have no settings tab regardless of whether Outlook is open or not. I even uninstalled the CRM client and rebooted, with no luck. I *can* see the settings tab in the web interface when I open the web interface via IE on the actual server where CRM is installed. But not on my own workstation. My co-worker is also a CRM admin, and can see the Settings tab just fine on his workstation. He has never installed the CRM client, however. Suggestions?     - Converting Lead to an Opportunity Hi, I have a strange situation here: When we convert a lead into an opportunity, we have to specify "Potential Customer". This field is mandatory and Lead cannot be converted into an opportunity without selecting a potential customer. Moreover, when I select a potential customer using lookup (or by adding a new one), the customer gets added into Accounts. This does not make sense to me. All I am doing is simple converting a lead into an opportunity. It is still an opportunity and not a customer (or account). I am not yet doing any business with them. So why should it be added as an account? The problem is, if I get 100 opportunities everyday, all of them will be added into my Accounts and they will be displayed in all account related reports and views and everywhere else.     - CRM and the dreaded access probelm Installed v3.0 of CRM using a doimain account which has full control over it's OU. The account also has SQL Server 2000 System Administrator role applied. every time I try to enter the deployment manager to add a user I get the following message. I have searched for an answer to this and tried all to solve it but it still appears. from my research it seems this is a common and prolific problem.     - attribute display names I am trying to find the corresponding display names for each attribute. I have a case where the schema names and the actual CRM field names are very different. I want to put a spreadsheet together with the field name from the form and its actual database name. Which table holds the display name? I have looked in the metabase and have not found it yet.     - How do i remove subjects? I've been asked to revamp our subject tree. I can't however, remove subjects that are linked to other records. I can't believe there's not an 'update' feature that would easily change any instances of and existing subject to something else.     - domain User accounts - will this work? im planning to install CRM and related softwares with the following user accounts i have a domain called "crm domain" which is in native mode. i have separate machines to act as CRM server and SQL Server. A user has been created in AD called as CRMAdmin. It is a member of the Domain Administrators group. - On the proposed SQL Server , - logged into the machine as "LocAdmin" - installed SQL Server - service running under local system account - On the proposed CRM server machine, - Prerequisites installed by logging into the machine as "LocAdmin" who has local administrative credentials on that machine. Then, Log in as CRMAdmin (who is a member of the Domain Controllers group) - install CRM ; service account to be used mentioned as - CRMAdmin Would also have some customizations placed in the Default Website ; new virtual directories have been created.     - Uninstall client for outlook Hi Guys, I am having trouble installing Desktop client for outlook for CRM 3.0. When I try to install, I get an error saying somthing like the version is not compatible or the client already exists. When I checked, I found that C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\Client folder already exists and has some files in it. There is also MSDE database for CRM on the machine. I want to completely uninstall this client. But I do not see the entries for CRM client and MSDE database under Add/Remove programs.     - Updating ActivityPointers As part of a data migration I am attempting to update the regardingobjectid on a number of ActivityPointer records. I tried to do it in a similar way to how I modified some incidents: CrmService.Retrieve(), make modifications to the returned object and then call CrmService.Update() passing to it the ActivityPointer object but I received the following SoapException: Message: Server was unable to process request. InnerText: The method being invoked does not support provided entity type. I cannot find any documentation or examples in the SDK on modifying ActivityPointers.     - Accessing products off-line Hi, Facing the following issue. Company sells products. Every country has its own products, so country specific products exist. Loading them all into MS CRM is an option. However, since ' real' sales objects such as quotes, orders and or invoices are not used, there is no real need to put them in. On a new entity, however, a link to a ' product' is needed, so we used an itermediate entity to lookup a product and thus create (fake) a many to many relationship. There are to many clicks needed to fulfill this task as sometimes many products need to be linked to this new entity. What might be the solution for this? Linked picklist that check on the user's and or customer's country and then prepopulates a country specific picklist which eliminates the values in another picklist is one option.     - Last Date Included in Campaign disappear When you include a customer (contact or company) in a campaign, on the admin tab against a contact or copmany and there is a field there called Last Date Included in Campaign, CRM is supposed to update a field against their record (last date included in campaign).     - CRMbar in Outlook disappears Hello, On the notebooks of our employees I've installed the Desktop CRM Client. On some of these notebooks after a while, the CRM bar in Outlook disappears. Menu > View > Toolbars > Microsoft CRM is checked, and the only solution that worked for me untill now is to do a Repair from the Client install CD. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?     - Using the Competitor entity Guys, I'm trying to figure out what to do. The MS-CRM competitor entity treats the competitor as is, whereas, i feel like it's important to be able to really see what products does he has and which one is competing (againt me) in a certain opportunity. Did anyone faced the same? I tried to bypass it by creating a new entity call "competitor products" (becuase the products that show on the competitor drill down are my products) and i hooked it up to the opportunity entity.     - Finding a GUID help please I'm sure its been done before... I have a custom entity 'CE' containing two fields A & B I have a relationship between CE and Contact (1 to many from contact) I want to create an iframe on an activity form for any given contact Issue When I use the 'pass parameter' to open an Iframe and specifiy the CE form,it takes me to the top level of teh form. What I want it to do is take me to the form for THAT contact. Ie it isn't getting the contact GUID If I could get the contact guid I could build a string to use as the Iframe URL but I caqn't work out how to get the GUID for the Contact. Any ideas?     - Report chart order I have 5 picklist attributes that I want to display along the x axis of a chart in my report. I can't sort by obvious methods (i.e. by data value of the picklist or by alphabetical order of the names) as these still produce data that is in the wrong order for my purposes. I know I could rename everything in the picklist to have a prefix 1, 2, 3 etc, but I'm not really too keen on this. Is it possible to explicitly define where I want each value on the x axis?     - Error when creating a new custom entity. I am attempting to add a new custom entity when deploying a customer site. I simply enter the entity's short name and plural name and set it to Ownership=User and click save and get a message that it failed and to call the SystemAdmin.
