Hi All,
I'm just starting out altering some SQL queries in excel to make the reports
more relevant and find myself wanting to pull data from two tables. Does
anybody know where there is a list of tables for reference of failing that,
which table the property opportunity.partneridname sits in?

Price List Flexibility
It would be great to be able to set a 'default' price list for opportunity,
quote, etc., and also have the ability to override this selection for any
given (all) products to be added.
Example:
Salesperson converts lead to opportunity and contact, and opens the
opportunity. The salesperson selects the 'default' price list for this
opportunity and begins adding products from this price list. Half way
through making product selections, the salesperson needs to add a single
product that is 'on sale'. The salesperson clicks the New Opportunity
Product button (as normal) and clicks the (to be added) Price List drop down
selection box and selects "Sale Price List" instead of "Regular Price List".
The salesperson then selects a product from the alternate list. In this way
9 of 10 products were selected from the "Regular" price list, and one product
was selected from the "Sale" price list.

What system activities can I report off of?
I would like to create some custom reports that show user activity such as
actually using CRM, time spent in product, keystrokes etc. I have gone
through all the entities and attributes but can't seem to identify anything
that looks promising. I'm guessing the type of info I am looking for would
be server side but I don't have access. Anybody have some insight they could

telling me that the current web page is trying to open a site in my

Sales Quota Report
Hello All,
I am having trouble creating a Sales Quota report of the Sales teams. I
have been tring to get the SRS to filter the data, but have been
unsuccessful.
Does any one out there have a sample report that will filter the data I
capture from the DB and calculate it for me?
I am looking to do the following:
1. Get the current year's Quota for the selected sales rep
2. Total the current completed Opps
3. compare the Quota to completed sales (pies and graphs)
I am sure that this is a common item that all companies have, need and used.

Creating Cases for MS CRM Users
We are using the software as a helpdesk for our IT department. Currently, we
have employees setup as Contacts, but all employees are also CRM Users. We've
been having issues with the auto-matching functionality because our Users and
Contacts both use the same e-mail address. It would serve the system well to
allow us to create cases where Customer = MS CRM User as opposed to limiting
this to just Accounts or Contacts so we can eliminate the Contact records
from our system completely.

Missing Sales and Marketing entries from the Navigation bar
Hi,
I'm a newbbie to Crm.
Crm 3.0 has been installed with just the web client i,e no outlook/
exchnage integratiion.
When i run the site the only entries on the navigation bar are
Workplace, Services and Settings.
Any reason why Sales and Marketing are missing?. How can i gain access
to these?

Import Customizations
Ok, here goes. I've tried a few times to import customizations. For some
reason the status bar gets to about 1/2 in IE, then stops. However, after
some additional testing I'm getting the imports in and I can publish to get
the changes but the import successful - OK button never comes up. I
eventually close the import OK box and all is in. Anyone else seen this

Two Questions
1. Can the Microsoft CRM client for the web be setup to be used by users
who are working from their home office if they are not logged onto a VPN -
simply over the web? I am essentially asking if a web client can be used to
access CRM outside of remote services or remote connection to where the
servers are hosted. (Very much like users can access salesforce.com from any
web browser).
2. Is it possible to use a Microsoft Web Client over securely over SSL?

I have SBE customizations I created a few months ago, and now I'm trying to
import them into Professional CRM. Some other differences are: SBE on SBS
with SQL 2000, Professional on SQL 2005. Other than that, it should be the

Searching closed entities in CRM
I want to use the simple "Look For" search in the VIEWS of an entity. The
problem is that it will only search Active records, not closed/inactive. An
example would be searching for a company in the Opportunities view. I want
to find how many opportunites they have, open and closed. It will only find
the open ones. Is there a way to change that search to work for both?

Merge Error in Contacts
We converted an Act Database putting most of the records into Leads and only
qualified records into Contacts.
I've been in the process of identifying and merging duplicates.
My latest test stripped all EMail addresses out of Leads and Contacts,
sorting them and identifying duplicates.
I can merge a Lead with a Lead
I can merge a Contact with a Contact.
Here's my problem:
If I convert a Lead to a Contact and then try to Merge the two records I

Pick fields in dynamic export
This may be a simple question to the gurus, but here it is.
I am running an advanced find against my activities, but want to include
account information when I export to Excel.
Based on what I've heard and read, it seems to me that, if I export to a
dynamic pivot table, I get the opportunitiy to pick additional columns that
are not available when exporting to static worksheets. The only place that
I've seen where I can pick additional columns, is in the "edit columns"
button within the actual advanced find. However, this does not give me the
fields I want. Where else can I get to these additional fields? Thanks for

Help - Updated CRM 3.0 refuses to install on SBS R2
CRM 3.0 refuses to install on my SBS 2003 R2 premium server.
I was encountering the known issues with CRM 3 on SBS R2 using the CDs that
came in the Action Pack subscription so I downloaded the updated CRM CDs from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7d418781-69ad-422d-92fa-87fdb2538e2c&DisplayLang=en
This copy gave me a different set of problems.
The default setup mode pops up a couple errors. The first one is the lack
of full text search so I installed that and ran the setup again. The next
error was:
"The edition 'Workgroup Edition' of the specified SQL Server is not
supported by this SQL Server Reporting Services installation. Supported
editions are Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition."
I installed reporting services for SQL 2k5 express, installed SQL 2k5 SP1,
and then configured reporting services. (had to change the reportserver
virtual directory to a new app pool though)
Now both standard and custom installation modes give me this error:
Failed to locate the Web Application configuration file. Verify the file
specified in registry value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft
SQL Server\80\Reporting Services[WAConfigFilePath]
This key is not in my registry. I suspect it may be because Iâ??m using SQL
express rather than full SQL.
This SBS r2 premium server is fully updated with latest windows updates,
service packs and such.
How exactly do I install CRM 3.0 (original, or updated CD) on SBS R2 premium?
Iâ??ve already read the CRM 3.0 on SBS r2 and CRM 3.0 implementation guides on
the MS site but they didnâ??t help.

The Settings button keeps disappearing

I'm having a weird problem when I access CRM using the web client. When I
access the site, I see all the buttons (Workplace, Sales, etc) except the
Settings button. If I reboot, the button is back. My security role is system
Admin.

I can access CRM through the internet. I can open the main screen and change
screens from account to contact to task, etc.
But on one laptop(mine of course) when I try to open an "Account" or
"Contact", a window will appear but never populates with anything but a
pretty blue(no detail). Lets throw in a little more just for fun, I can
open a "Task" and even my custom entity.

CRM Client for Outlook toolbar doesn't work
Have CRM Outlook client, and worked well when I was in the office yesterday.
Went "offline" and all seems fine.
However, today I find that the CRM menu, and CRM toolbar do not work. I can
see them, but the buttons do nothing.
I am running on Vista, and have the latest CRM upgrade.
Any ideas?

CRM, reports, and IE7
I'm having a specific issue with Internet Explorer 7 and MSCRM 3.0.
For the most part, CRM works fine. However, when anyone tries to run
a SQL2000 Reporting Services report from within CRM (either the
Outlook or web client), it gives one of those nifty full-page errors.
If I go straight to the report server, through IE7, I can run the
report just fine.
Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know how to fix it? Any

Replies do not route back into CRM
Hi, friends.
I have a problem with our CRM router which I can't work out for several days.
Replies on outgoung e-mails, which were sent from CRM and which had
tracking tokens their subjects, do not appear inside CRM application as
closed e-mail activities.
The router service runs under domain user account having System
Administartor security role in CRM and Local Admin rights on the exchnage
sever (2003). This account as well as Exchange server computer account is a
member of PrivUserGroup.
There are no errors in any of event logs.
I have attached an e-mail box of router user (created during router
installation) to my Microsoft Outlook and visually have seen that each reply
comes to this e-mail box into "inbox" folder. After 30-60 sec each reply
message which has tracking token moves to "Undeliberable" subfolder of
"indox" folder. And each message which has no tracking token simply
disappears.
I've enabled tracing on the server and catched one error from the tracing
files, but I can't understand what it means (see below).
I've already tried to re-install the router. I does not help.
What can I do else... Have no idea.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

CRM tasks synchronization
Can a CRM user create tasks in CRM for someone else and have it synchronize
into Outlook for that other person? I've enabled the synchronization from
the Outlook client and my own tasks are synchronizing but tasks for others
are not.

CRM 3.0 Server Error in '/' Application when accessing Reports via

I've got a server running Sharepoint 2003 and CRM 3.0, both using SQL 2000
Server, which is a separate server. All Windows Server 2003. The default
website on the CRM site has always been stopped and the CRM site has a host
header, the CRMReports folder is inside the CRM website. No SSL enabled on
the CRM site.
All has been running fine until the last couple of days, now when we go to
http://crm and click on 'Reports' in the CRM app via IE, we get the following
error:

When I install the Microsoft Outlook Client and I start MS Outllook, I get
the following message:
"The Microsoft CRM Outlook client needs to be upgraded before it can
continue to be used. Microsoft CRM will be disabled this clinet. Contact

Please help me, because when I Google this message I can't find the
solution.

There is a problem communicating with the Microsoft CRM Server
Hello ALL,
I have a problem with my CRM Client for Outlook.
The CRM Server 3.0 is on a Windows 2003.
Wenn I add in IIS 6.0 the server name (FQDN and NETBIOS NAME) as a multiple
identities and remove the default web site i can access to server with the
CRM Outlook client but I cannot access anymore with the CRM Web Client. And
wenn I remove the server name (FQDN and NETBIOS NAME) and put back the
default web site the Web client is working but not the CRM client for
Outlook.
Error in CRM client for outlook:
The microsoft CRM Server is unavailable.
There is a problem communicating with the Microsoft CRM Server. The server
might be unavailable. Try again later. if the problem persists, contact your
system administrator
My environment:
Windows XP SP2
Office 2003 Pro SP2

Newbie Dumb Question re Quotes/invoices
Hi, i am very new to CRM, and I have it running and working on my network.
Anyway, my question is in relation to using it. I have successfully setup my
products, price list, contacts, accounts, etc.
I then proceeded to run through a test process from start to finish. I
created my lead, then made it an opertunity, then i created a quote, added my
products, etc.
Now heres the part where i'm confused. Once i have created and made avtive
my quote, i want to print a copy off to give to my customer. When i try to
print the quote, i get a basic dump of the info on my screen, no nice
presentable quotation.
So my question is how do i go about doing this?
It is probaly a really dumb question, but i am a systems admin, not a
customer relations manager, or sales person, i just need to get it all
