We have experienced with Crystal Reports on our CRM installation since
installation. A large number of reports have always displayed the message
that further information is required before the report can be run and we are
now also getting:

updateViewState failed

Your request was cancelled. The necessary security privileges could not be
verified. Please contact your system administrator.

The errors seem to vary randomly; for example a report was operating happily
for 5-10 executions over the course of 10 minutes then started displaying the
above message.

We have applied the suggested fixes, I believe, but still no joy. Attempted
to run all crystal services as administrator and mixed results. Our setup is
two W2K3 boxes, one running the MS CRM and the other the SQL server.

Any ideas?

Steven

Go into crystal enterprise manager on the crm web box and restart all the
crystal services then perform an IISRESET. If this fails to correct the
issue please let us know of any relevant event errors on the CRM web server
boxes

I've done as you suggested and I seem to be getting an error that information
is needed before a report can be run. This message appears a few times, then
the report may run happily and then the message comes back again.

Any thoughts or a simple way to reload the whole crystal environment? All
reports are the standard ones included with MS CRM and no system
customisation except through the GUI.

Thanks
Steven

We haven't created any reports; just the standard ones that are supplied with
MS CRM. The errors are random; for example a report doesn't work and then
does or vice versa. There appears to be no pattern to the behaviour and a
working report can be executed four times then the fifth it will fail. Next
session (same credentials and source laptop); doesn;t work 10x in a row.
