    - CRM 3 SB Edition on Windows Server Standard inside a SBS domain I'm trying to install CRM 3 on Windows Server Standard inside a SBS domain but when I typpe the license key it tells me that I can only install CRM on a Windows Small Business Server 2003 or on a computer joined to the SBS domain.     - CRM Email Tracking and SPAM How big of a concern is the tracking GUID triggering SPAM rules on remote mail servers? We currently use CRM with tracking and have reports of users sending email that the recipient claims they never receive. At this point the claims haven't been verified, we have asked them to report specific instances so we can investigate. There are several reasons why the messages could be marked as SPAM besides the GUID, namely content. If the message is part of a campaign, then obviously the content would play a huge role in SPAM rule application. So, my question is, does anyone have concrete info on the GUID triggering SPAM filter rules? This will help in determining what level of reliance we will put into the email functionality of CRM.     - CRM 1.2 Timezone Did something change in a 1.2 hotfix regarding how dates get stored? Everything is in the Central Time Zone (-5 DST). I create a new opportunity at 1:30p this afternoon and it's createdon = 5/4/2006 13:30 (expected 18:30 UTC). In a custom date field, a select 5/4/2006 and it gets saved as 5/4/2006 0:00 (expected 5:00 UTC). I change my user to the Pacific Time Zone (-7 DST) and repeat the test. createdon = 5/4/2006 13:40 (expected 18:40 UTC) and the custom date field = 2:00 (expected 7:00).     - Custom Roles We created 2 custom roles for the sales team. Their core records permissions give them full control over opportunities. However, users in one of these 2 roles try to close an opportunity they get an error that says insufficient permissions. If we add a Core Role, like VP of Sales to the user account roles, while leaving the custom role in place the users can then close opportunities without an issue.     - CRM Queue - Email Attachment Problem Hello, I am running CRM 3.0 with a mail enabled Queue (support@company.com). When the queue receives an email that has another email message as an attachment I lose the attached (embedded) email. Attachments seem to work ok for Office docs but not when the email contains an embedded email. I can reproduce this every time by just composing a new email to the queue in Outlook (2003) and then selecting an item to insert instead of a file (down arrow next to the paperclip).     - Error When Closing Opportunity We have an issue where when an user attempts to close an opportunity, they get the following error: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information and where it originated in the code. System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040220. I had seen an earlier post that said a possible workaround was to put a valid value in the Est. field, but this workaround is useless. Does anyone have any idea of how to close these out?     - Importing data from Production to Pre-Production I currently have a Pre-Production Environment of CRM on a different CRM Server, Different Database Server, Different Service Account, Different Organization Unit in Active Directory, SAME Organization Name, Exact same customizations published. I wanted to import the data from the Production Environment so that we may perform some tests against pre-prod with actual data. Is there any easy way to do this without Scribe? I can create the Campaign Activity (Channel is "Letter via Mail Merge").     - New Install Failure installing the email router The diag tool installed by CRM is failing when it checks SQL. I'm getting a string too short or too long error.     - Error When Merging Two Records Greetings! When trying to merge the contents of two records, our users get an error: "An error has occured. For more information, contact your system administrator" Which is followed by an IE Script Error: "'crmMergeForm' is undefined" At first I thought it was a permissions issue, however every one of our security roles has full rights on Merge in the Miscellaneous Privileges section. I purchase 5000 records from a data agency. I manipulate headings etc so to import them into CRM I send 5000 emails and get 950 responses. The data agency sends me an excel document that lists who opened the email, and how many timesâ?¦ It doesnâ??t make much sense to go through each one, find the original lead, and link it somehow to this lead.     - redeploy to parent domain Hi, We have crm 1.2 running in a subdomain with the AD in the parent domain. now we want to move the crm to the parent domain. I'm using the redeployment wizard. When i try to map the users to the same user i get this massage: The specified user was found but the mapping is invalid. The new mapping was not created.     - Problem with accessing CRM on Small Business Server Hello, I have an issue with an instance of CRM 3.0 which I am running on a small business server 2003. When I try and access CRM using the web client it times out as it appears the w3svc is down. After I reboot the SBS the service works and I can access CRM for a couple of days before it shuts down again. I have been through the event log to no avail and the service is showing as "started" but all internet access to the server is unavailable.     - No automatic selection of telephone number When i go to workplace, and start a new activity, i select a phonecall The defalt remains on outgoing call, and i select a contact to call I checked, this (exisiting)contact has a work phone number. Why do i, after selecting my contact to call, have to fill in a phone number manually, when this number is saved to this contact in CRM already?     - Default Unit of Measure When creating a new "Existing Product" line on a order, I select a product but its deafult unit of measure is not brought through onto the Order Product New form.     - No Users Appear in the User Manager Wizard Dear All, We installed Microsoft CRM 3 onto our server pretty much OK eventually (apart from reporting Services failed) but when I go to the User Manager Wizard, I don't see any of our users listed from Active Directory. The organizational unit I entered was: OU=webtechy,DC=internal,DC=webtechy,DC=co,DC=uk But now I'm wondering if I should have selected the folder in Active Directory that hosts all our users (we're using Small Business Server).     - Quick Campaign Error 0x8004032f I created a marketinglist with contacts. All contacts have an e-mail address. At the detailwindow of the marketinglist I press the button create Quick Campaign and i choose the option E-mail via mailmerge. I choose a html template in Word en complete the mailmerge. E-mails are send and tracked in MS CRM at contactlevel.     - convert lead to Opportunity Hallo to all, When we open an opportunity it requires to set the Potential Customer for it. This is a look up field and you can choose an Account or a contact. Is there a way that i can choose as a potential customer a lead? I know that the originating lead is set in the administration tab but it is not helpful there. I do not want to convert leads to contacts or accounts and then create the opportunity because we use contacts for non-customer persons, accounts for customers that we already do business with and leads are for potential customers.     - Adding a bit attribute fails but adding a varchar doesn't Hi to all CRM Dudes and Dudettes, A client of mine has a small problem. They have been adding heaps of bit fields to their account entity and now its generating the general CRM Error Window. At first I thought SQL had reached it's maximum table row size, but we can still add normal varchar fields. There don't see to be any logic to which account are visible to others users which ones are not. I've been able to trace the problem down to invalid SecurityDescriptor in the AccountBase table, but I have no idea on how to isolate the invalid Descriptors nor do I know how to fix them. Help!!     - Mass Delete I guess this is two parts... 1. I noticed that when I do a delete through the UI, the record stays and gets a deletion state code=2. At some point is there an admin function to actually clean these off of the db? 2. I have been testing the creation of Accounts through an SDK program and its working well. I have created over 26k accounts and now want to run a final clean test before running this job in a prod environment. I figure the safest way is to just set the deletionstatecode=2 through SQL.     - Custom Entity performance issues We've created a few custom entities in our CRM 3.0 implementation. Since we've added them we've also noticed a that our CRM application server performance has degraded. What I've found, for example, is when I switch from page to page in the grid that the page loads and rolls through each record (I can actually watch it count down in the lower left of the browser) vs. doing the same thing with a system entity like accounts where it almost "snaps" to the entire next page. If you watch the performance monitor on the CRM application server and SQL server while switching from page to page you can actually watch the processor on the app server increase quite a bit, but the SQL server doesn't appear to change much, if at all. I guess my question is has anyone else noticed this, and if so what have you done to increase the performance. My intial thought was that we needed to set up some SQL jobs for indexing the custom entities, but since the SQL server doesn't seem to be affected I'm not sure that would help much.     - CRM Exchange Mail Router for SBS I setup a mailbox to be used by the CRM Exchange Mail Router running on SBS 2003. The CRM mail worked fine in CRM 1.2 on this box, but now all email is being returned to our CRM users when they try to send mail. I have the CRM mailbox address set as crmmail@domainname.local.     - Link a Product to a Contact Hi, For each product I sell I'd like to manage more info about it than just the plain-jane "Vendor" field on the Product\Description tab. I'd rather create a real Contact record, then replace the plain-jane "Vendor" field with one that holds a link to the actual Contact (relationship or picklist?). Ideally this would be 1-1. When I look through all the form customization and relationship creation screens, it is not apparent how I would do this. I never see anything that would let me directly connect two system entities.     - Can't reinstall laptop client we have CRM 3.0, the laptop was running the laptop client, the profile became corrupt and I reinstalled the laptop client, however I got the message that a version was on and should be removed.     - Insufficient Permissions Error when Closing an Opportunity Ok, just upgraded to 3.0 last week. Admin is able to close opportunities just fine. However our sales force is unable to close an opportunity. they always get "Insufficient Permisions - The logged on user does not have the appropriate security permissions to view these records or perform the specific action...." It is in the online version as well as offline. SFO as well as web. I have checked the settings under the salesmens role and everything seems to be open enough to allow opportunities to be close.     - Issue with oPopup errors on menus Hope someone can point me in the right direction. On Child windows (not the main window) when you move the mouse over a menu or tool bar item - the following errors appear : Line 141: _oPopup.document is null or not an object. If you use the ALT shortcuts to display the Actions menu (ALt A) the following error appears:Line 769: Object required. When you click one of the menus, the box highlights, but does not remove the highlight when the mouse moves off, and if you click the toolbars, even though they do not highlight, the functions still works. All menu functionality and tool bars works correctly on the main CRM screen, this is only happening on a few PC's, and only on windows called from the main CRM screen. When I customize the source query in an Excel Pivot Table extract which contains joins (inner or outer join) to multiple filteredviews, the column aliases are disappearing. current user has appropriate permissions and server connectivity and try the

synchronization settings from the server. Restart Microsoft Outlook and try

I seems the problems listed below are now gone, I don't know how I fixed it,
but it works. You feed back is appreciated.

Also, I am getting a new error - when I click with my mouse a main group
folder under Microsoft CRM in Outlook, I get the following message:

1. Error
An error has occurred. For more information, contact your system
administrator.
