    - Programmatically closing an Activity Hi guys, I am trying to programmatically close a phonecall activity, but I must be missing something. I get a "Server was unable to process request." (Not entirely descriptive!)     - Restricting views Hi I am aware that within Settings you can set permissions for users and limit which accounts they are allowed to view. Is there any way that could limit what users are able to see within the Account. ie. A user may be able to access/read information on the account however will not able to access/read the quotes that were sent to the client. I would greatly appeciate any assistance.     - CRM Auto completes Allotments Hi, I first posted this query on Wednesday (SA time), but did not explain very well. I have a problem being able to enter (input / specify) the allotments for a case line. For those of you who have read it before and can't or won't help, my apologies, please don't read any further. I have reposted because of the large volume of topics over the last few days. The following (I hope) explains my issue properly for anyone who is interested in helping. The 'contract line' form has greyed out the 'Allotments Used' field, after saving the contract line the system makes this value 1.0. I need to explicitly allocate the amount of hours this contract line (item) will take (eg. 20 hours). I then want to assign cases to take up these hours. I know cases can only be done once the contract is invoiced, but the invoice will always be wrong because I can't allocate the required amount of hours. Steps I followed: 1. Created a product called Support service. 1.1. Discount list - Service volume discount 1.1.1. Discounts 100 - 200 (hours) 5% 1.1.2. 201 - 300 7.5% 1.1.3. 301 - 400 10% 1.2. Price list - Support Services catalogue 1.2.1. Price list item, Product - Support Service, Discount list - Service volume discount, Unit - Hours, Quantity selling option - whole, Pricing method - Currency amount, Amount - 685.00 1.3. Unit group - Hours 1.3.1. Hours, Quantity - 1.0, Base Unit - Professional Consulting Services 1.3.2. Professional consulting service, Quantity - 1, Base Unit, Service 1.3.3. Service, Quantity 1.0 (base base unit). 2. Create a contract to an account. 2.1. Contract name 2.2. Bill to, Customer, effective date, Contract end date, owner, contract template - Support service 2.2.1. Contract template, Support service, billing frequency - monthly, Allotment Type - Time, Available hours - 0800 - 1700, Mon - Fri. 2.3. Contract line, Start & End date from contract, Product - Support Service, Unit - Hours PROBLEM. The form has greyed out Allotments Used (see above). I suspect the problem lies in the product setup which I have inherited, but I can't delete the items listed above as they have already been used. What have we done wrong?     - Help! One for the CRM gurus I have an unusual situation. I have previously modified the accounts + contacts forms with a new attribute - which i later removed.     - Estimated revenue saving in opportunity form Hi Guys, In my opportunity form, I have set up some code to generate the estimated revenue based on the sales stage. I realise that this sort of thing already exists, but I've changed it a little. To describe briefly: There are 4 sales stages, selected from a picklist (using the existing salesstagecode schema). These equate to certain probabilities, so I have an integer probability field that is read-only, and changes according to the value selected in the sales stage picklist. (I know there was an existing probability schema, but for some reason I don't remember, I made a new one... go figure...) I made a field for project value (before noticing the actualvalue schema), which the user obviously types in the actual value of the project. When this or the sales stage is changed, the estimated revenue is calculated automatically. Here's the bit I don't understand: This all works fine in the simulation form, and seems to work fine when creating a new opportunity, but for some reason, the estimated value doesn't save. I assume there is some background script that calculates the estimated revenue according to the out-of-the-box setup. However, I've exported the Opportunity customization code, and I can't find anything. Also, I've got entries from when I still had bugs in my setup, and it won't let me save changes to these. How do I get an e-mail to a user group in workflow? We have identified options below do you have anything better? Create a DL Group for the Credit Analysts then 1. Setup a Contact as a group for the Credit Analysts. Create a naming convention or qualification type Add the DL Group as the e-mail for Contact Send e-mail to the Contact setup in the system as the contact group.     - Folder Script I want to write a script that autogenerates a folder that is named after a schema attribute. Then an iFrame on a separate tab links to the newly created folder. For example, when a new Opportunity is created whether it be manually or converted from a Lead, I want a "Files" tab to contain an iframe that references a folder on the CRM server that is named after the Topic schema value.     - Web Services and JScript in CRM Custom Entity Hi. I'm trying to call a custom made web service from a custom entity form. All i get is nothing. Altough my code is ok (i guess), i have some questions if someone can help me out. Situation is this: On a custom entity form, i have two text boxe. In the first one, input a numeric code, with a POST request this code is send to a web service. Then, the web service take this code and in their code transforms the code into words.     - Annotation Import Not Associating with Account or Contact When I import data into CRM from the cdf database my Accounts, Accounts_ext, and Contacts import correctly, the Annotation (Notes) import but are not associating with the Account or Contact. When Outlook autofills CRM contact emails it sometimes does not resolve the email, only the contact name.     - Worflow unable to cancel process It looks like Workflow manager lets you delete a rule event if there are still instances of the process running.     - Customising Views I have a problem with the ability to customise views in CRM....why do they not let you set a 'before x days/weeks/months' filter, so that you can chase up companies and contacts that havent been contacted in the past? Their system view, 'Companies Not contacted in the past 6 months' is inadequate, as it doesn't filter based upon whether the contacts related to that company have been contacted.     - Add contact lookup to custom attribute Hi, I have added a custom attribute of nvarchar(100) and placed it on the the opportunity entity. I want to store a contact fullname in this field using a lookup to the contact records. After a bit of reading I got the impression I could do this with a relationship mapping but it won't let me map the fullname attribute from contacts to my new attribute. It says it must be the same type and the target must be equal or longer and not mapped anywhere else. Here is the problem. fullname is 160 characters long and the limit on my new attribute is 100.     - CRM should let you change a product's unit group It is impossible to change a product's unit group once a product has been created.As a result, if you don't get this aspect of your system configured correctly at the start, it is very very hard to correct it down the road. I realize that the unit group permeates the entire database schema, but it should still be possible to change it without deleting the product altogether. Deleting the product and re-adding it is not usually an acceptable option for a mission critical system that has been in use for a few years.
