Hi guys 'n' gals,

I've installed CRM Server 1.2 onto Windows 2003 about 7 times now and
I've still yet to get it working correctly...

I've followed several installtion guides with mostly similar results.

The area I get the problem with is after I've added users via the
Deployment manager, I try to load the web page on the server, but I'm
challenged for the username and password...

This happens across the network and on the CRM Server when I'm logged
on as an Admin and will not except any logon to display the site.

I'm confident that DNS is working correctly (I've changed the settings
on IIS to match, and if I change the setting to something incorrect I
don't get challenged nor see the site)... so I'm happy with that.

All except the Crystal services are running as Local System (Crystal is
running a network user account (not Dom Admin)), but I've tried Dom
Admin and Dom User accounts for all with same results

If anyone can help me, I'd be forever greatful

Cheers

Adam

Hi Adam

A few questions for you,

1-Do you run any other websites on the CRM server?
2-Does the same occur for you if you try and open this page:

http://yourcrmserver/loader.aspx

3-Does workflow manager open?
4-Can you publish customisations from the deployment manager?
5-Is the CRM 1.2 website set to integrated windows authentication security?
6-Can you right click loader.aspx under the CRM website in IIS manager and
select browse, what happens?
7-What happens if you add http://yourcrmserver to trusted sites in IE
security?

Cheers

Dan

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the quite response...

1. No other websites... fresh Windows Server installation
2. Same thing happens... site challenges me for User/Pass, but errors
on Not authorised to view this page
3. Says 'You do not have sufficient Microsoft CRM privieges to run the
Workflow Manager' (I'm logging on as my Admin account, used to install
CRM, so I should be able to?)
4. Just tried it (although not sure what that's for yet), but yes it
does work
5. It is indeed...
6. Same challenge for User/Pass
7. Well this made some difference... It did not challenge me, but also
did not load up the website. Still got 'Page can not be displayed'

Thanks again

Adam

Hi Adam

Thanks for your answers. I think the problem could be either AD, IIS or
file permissions. My first bet would be file permissions..

If you go to c:\intetpub\ and right click wwwroot, then go to security,
you should have a group called Users (CRM\Users) with
read and execute access. Is this the case?

Thanks

Dan

Does this same thing happen on every client machine or just 1? Do things work
OK after entering the credentials?

There is an IE setting that controls whether IE will pass along the integrated
credentials. It should be set to "Allow only in the Intranet" or something
along those lines. This can be found on the adnvanced tab of the zone settings.

I think Adam gets a permission error in IIS manager and workflow manager
also though Matt.

The workflow error could be explained if he hasn't gotten intot he web ap to
assign a license to the admin user. The error reported from IIS is expected and
those steps just open IE to the indicated page and would thus prompt for
credentials, the same as if entered directly from IE.

Hi Guys,

I've checked the permissions on wwwroot and they match...

I also tried Allowing Windows Authentication on both Intranet (which
was already set) and on the Internet, but I still get challenged for my
credentials. This happens on any workstation, including the CRM
Server.

I've just checked the Event Log (which is usually free from error) and
found this about the same time I was checking the site:

Source: LsaSrv
Category: SPNEGO (Negotiator)
Event ID: 40961
The Security System could not establish a secured connection with the
server HTTP/crmweb.stella.bristol.tdg.ad. No authentication protocol
was available.

Hope this is of some use, and thanks again for helping me out

Adam

Hi Adam

This error may not be related, could you see if you can recreate the error
please.

Thanks

Hi Dan,

tried to, but with no luck...

Could possibly be when I connected remotely to the server... so I
think you're right

Got it sorted!!!

Under IIS 6.0, click on Web Service Extensions and you need to enable
ASP.NET v1.1.4322

Without it you can only view normal html pages, so that got me thinking
that .Net was not running...

Took me a while, but got there in the end!

Cheers for the help guys
