    - onChange code to automatically select a lookup value Hi, When i create a new case and select a Customer from the lookup value, i then want the most recent contract to be automatically selected, and then from this the contract line to be automatically selected. But i am having problems with trying to write code with the onChange event to do this because i dont know how to select a value of a lookup list.     - Access CRM data for outside the network Hello All, I would like to know if it is possible to access my CRM data outside of my network (via a web page NOT VPN). I would like customers an other consultants that work for me to have access to the data from anywhere any time with the proper credentials of course. I attempted to configure all unassigned IP's in IIS but I was unable to access it externally. I am using CRM 3.0 on a SBS 2003 Server (plain vanilla configuration). Any Ideas or how to's on this?     - Inactive contacts, etc. are visible in assoc. view I'm having a problem with CRM3.0. In associated views, all entities (contacts, leads, etc) are visible - active or not. Seems like it should be hiding the inactive records. Is that correct? Our system has always shown the inactive records in the associated view. I think it did this in CRM1.2, and I'm sure it's been this way since we upgraded. If this is functioning correctly, I'll leave it alone, but if they are supposed to be hidden (we would really like it if they were), then I'd like to get it fixed. So, how's yours work?     - Can I Add A Button To The List Entity With ISV.config? Does anyone know if it's possible to add a button to the list entity or if I am restricted to certain system entities and custom entities only? Also, I was doing some testing to get the hang of working with the ISV.config file and and can't seem to get it to work.     - Quick Find should search current view only I have several Views that allow my users to narrow their record lists to a few thousand records each.     - Error when trying to add an attribute When I or anyone else with administrative privledges try to add or customize an attribute, table, etc. we get the following message: /_common/error/dlg_error.aspx?hresult=Not%20available&errMessage=Method%20not%20found%3A%20Void%20Microsoft.Crm.Metadata.AttributeInfo.set_Searchable(Boolean). We've always been able to do this before. Does anyone know how this can be fixed? I just installed the CRM Rollup for the server and client and it didn't help.     - CRM Export to Excel I'm not a huge expert on Excel so I'm not sure how this can be done. I'm posting it in the CRM Group as thats where the issue is arising: When a user runs a custom report, the report adds a header and a footer. When they print it, each page of the report is printed with the header and footer. this is fine, thats what they asked for and thats what they get. Now, when a user exports to Excel so they can use the data, the Header and footer are also exported and the data scrolls in between them. I can't seem to figure out how to make all of the information export to a single excel sheet without the scrolling. I removed the header and footer from the report but it still scrolls ... Any ideas?     - importing sub-contacts I will be implementing CRM over the next few months, migrating our data from an Access database, and I am a total CRM novice. We are a non-profit, and do a lot of work with families. Currently, our database has a Household Table- all the fields unique to the household (address info, home phone)- and an Individual table- all the fields that are unique to that individual (cell phone, email address, birthdays, mail preferences). The individual records contain a Household ID that links them to the appropriate Household record. From what I gather, the appropriate way to recreate this in CRM will be to have a Parent Contact (the Households) and associated sub-Contacts (individuals). (The extra fields available in Contacts for spouse and children are really not flexible enough to track the necessary data). But how will I set up the 1:1 field setup for the import? There is a field called "parentcustomerid" in CRM Contacts that is for ids of the associated account OR contact. Are the autonumbering properties for contact and account ids required to follow a specific format or can I import the existing household ids? Will I need to create new fields to host the old ids and then recreate the relationships after the data has been imported? Additionally, will I be able to set up different forms for Parent-contact entry versus sub-contact entry?     - Product Price Level records not being imported in DMF I am trying to import products into MS CRM 3 using the DMF. I have successfully imported a unit group and base unit, a price list, and some products. However, my product price level records are being rejected. There is no error message in the error log. I have followed the CRM Detailed Planning documentation (Excel Spreadsheet) and have populated: ProductPriceLevelId (unique int) UomScheduleIdName (name of successfully imported unit group) PriceLevelIdname (name of successfuly imported price list) UoMIdName (name of base unit within the imported unit group) ProductIdName (name of successfully imported product) QuantitySellingCodeName (set to 'Whole') PricingMethodCodeName (set to 'Currency Amount') Amount (set to a price e.g. 95.00) I've also had to supply values for ProductID and PriceListID as these cannot be left null, even though the documentation states the relationships are derived from the associated 'name' fields. I can see from the log that the DMF is locating the matching Product and Price List records. I notice that the default price list on the imported product records is not populated even though I have populated DefaultUoMScheduleIDName to my imported price list. Is this problem related? In CRM itself, there needs to be at least one price list item before you can set the default price list. What am I doing wrong? Is there any way of getting the DMF log to show more info? All, I'm a newbe to CRM and just installed it in our test environment and I'm able to work on it from the server but when I try to log in from another machine the window open up then close and disapear. We have CRM 3 and by the end of August I have to decide about the renewal of the related SA. We are not interested in the hosted option and, maybe because we use it with SBS 2003, our overall experience with CRM 3.XX so far has been far from great.     - CRM Reports Move I am moving my CRM reports from the server where CRM was installed to a new server. I have allready moved the database to the new server and it works fine. I am moving the reports to the report server. I have run the downloadreports.exe on the old server and have the folder where the reports are. I copied them to the new server. I have mapped the CRM folder from the old servto the X: drive so that the Publishreports command is available. In the CMD window I go to The d:drive where the report folder is. I open the folder where the Publish.config file and the MSCRM folder is. I run the following command. "X:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\Reports\publishreports.exe" "triPRACTIX" 'corp\ReportingGroup {617bd5f6-4cd7-48fa-9c02-16faa3c328a3}" "corp\appserv2$" I get an error window up that says Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0x1cfc(7420), Thread id=0x1344(4932) Click OK to terminate application. Click CANCEL to debug the application. When I click OK I get the following error in the cMD window. Unhandled Exception: System.Security.Policy.PolicyException: Required permissions cannot be acquired. at Microsoft.Crm.Reporting.Publish.PublishMain.Main(String[] args) What am I doing wrong? I have tried the mapping between two customizable entity (account and contact) as well as between two custom entities I build. When I select the primary entity from the related entity form, the mapped fields do not generate any value, although the primary entityâ??s corresponding mapped field contains data. This is true for both cases when the focus is lost from the lookup field and also after saving the form. Is there anything that I may be missing due to which the data is not getting mapped?     - Recurring problem - constant login request using web browser I set up my home laptop computer to access CRM via the web. My home computer username and pw are the same as my network logins. I added the CRM site to Intranet sites. Login is set to automatic with Intranet sites. I even added a saved network password for the CRM site. This set up is the same as I alwasy do for any other computer. The problem is that I am asked to login when the CRM screen comes up or anytime I try to open a CRM record. Clicking Cancel opens the record. But the login pops up the next time I open another record. Once again, clicking cancel closes the login window and opens the record.     - Error when going offline One of our users has a CRM lap top client installed. He can't go offline. After he has pressed the 'go offline'-button the process starts, but when 'Initialization of database' starts the Outlook closes and the process is stopped. This happens every time.     - CRM slow I have just installed CRM v3 onto a new server with sql 2000. When using the web interface or the outlook client the performance is to slow to use. When the web client first opens and I click on Companies it can take 20 to 30 seconds to load. I have the same problem with contacts. I have already put update 2 on to the system to see if this helps but it did.     - CRM Vista install I have been having a problem deploying the outlook client to a user with Vista Home Premium and Office 2007. I can make the install work, but its a kludge and problematic. Normally when i install PCs that are off our domain, They are confugured to connect to us via VPN and we use the "Stored Usernames and Passwords" feature in Windows XP to handle the Login for the CRM server as was recommended to us by Microsoft. But when I try and do that with Vista Home Premium, the login never passes to the CRM server. I comfirmed this by trying to connect to our CRM web server as well. All I got was a black login dialog. Just to see what would happen, I stripped out the Stored username and password and the opened the web page again. When propted to login, I did so and saved the password. I got my connection to the web server and then closed the browser. I then opened Outlook and CRM finished loading in Outlook 2007. I can close and open CRM at this point and CRM works. But if I go to the stored user name and password area, it is still blank. We use a piece of software that will blank out stored logins in IE, (but not in stored usernames and passwords) so the login has to be redone in IE every day. Just incase any one is curious, I have the Intranet and trusted site set for our CRM server. I have yet to see a document that states how to do client installs for vista, and according to all the system requirements for CRM client for Outlook, it states that you can use any version of Vista.     - window.returnValue not returning value to my CRM form I am attempting to create a popup dialog box that handles some input that is forced back into the CRM Form and I'm running into problems. I am using window.showModalDialog in my javascript, and passing it some parameters. My dialogArguments argument on the dialog box side ALWAYS comes up undefined, so I can't reference anything on the parent. Also, when I try and send a returnValue of the window, undefined is always returned to the parent form. My window is hosted in the same domain as my CRM installation.     - Security Role For Root Business Unit Question ? I am still new to the Microsoft CRM, so please forgive me if this question or my understand of the CRM is incorrect. My question regarding the security role is that there is a privilege called "Assign Role" and it's under the "Business Management" tab of a security role. If I set the access level of this privilege to be "Business Unit", and there is only one business unit in the whole CRM. (I guess we could call it the root business unit.). This is essentially the same as enabling this secutiry role to add/remove security roles for other users/teams across the whole organization ?? Because there is no parent business unit in this case.     - Installation error with SQL Server 2005 Environment: separate boxes (4) for all applications. Each runs Windows 2003 Ent SP2. I have Exchange 2003 and SQL Server 2005 Std. DC/AD is on one and CRM is slated for the 4th. I have CRM 3.0 pro. It gets all the way to the System Requirements screen. The SQL Server test fails with the following error message: "[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (PreLoginHandshake()).]General network error. Check your network documentation." The connectivity is there. All boxes are in the same domain and see each other clearly. When selecting the SQL server, it appears in the list. Everything is using the local service acct, which is admin.     - crm accounts fail to sync with outlook 2007 Outlook when syncing with CRM 3.0 completes stage 1 OK of sync and then takes all contacts away from Outlook trying to sync and then only returns 91 of 1650 accounts. We have 2 other laptops, 1 excatly the same and sync's fine. The other is same brand lower spec model and is also failing.     - CRM Outlook Client multiple profiles We have a user that has left the company, and another user would like regular access to the deprted user's CRM content. What is the easiest way to do this from the active user's desktop? Will they have to logon as the departed user? Or, can they access the CRM without an alternate logon from their desktop? Hi,
I have a desktop installation of CRM that needs to be used to two users.
One user logs in and it works fine. The second user logs in and can see the
Microsoft CRM folder in Outlook but there are no CRM folders within this -
only Deleted Items and Search Folder.

Can anyone advise on how to troubleshoot this?
