I am finding that once you put the CRM client on a workstation (not a
laptop, just a normal workstation) the CPU pegs to about 95% for about 10
seconds every 30 seconds.

In just 20 hours of run time, Outlook consumes just over 4 hours of CPU time
in task manager.

My sycn interval is set to ever 30 mins, so I am wondering what is up, has
anybody seen this before?

Thanks, Mike

I've seen this before too. I currently have a support case open with
Microsoft regarding this.

Josh, would you let me know what you find out with MS on this...

Thanks a lot!

Mike

Josh, I did find some settings. Try looking in "Settings", "Organization
Settings", "System Settings", "Outlook Synchronization".

I changed the "Check for promoted e-mail every" from 5 to 15 minutes.

I also changed "Perform addtional checks for promoted e-mails when new
e-mail is received" from "Yes" to "No".

Restarted Outlook and its working like a champ now. The syncs are not as
realtime but I get much better performance out of my desktop now.

hth, Mike

Any chance you have some large email folders with lots of items? We have
seen a few cases during stress runs where our email tagging process tends to
get a little CPU-hungry. It's not really an issue with the tagger design but
more a problem with the underlying infrastructure.

Mike - do you have a support case number or contact? I'd like to ping them
to see what they've tried for you.

Mike, I do not have an open case on this I believe Josh does. This has not
become that critical for us so I have not started a case, just posted the
question in this forum.

This users mailbox is a large mailbox to say the least with 2.8GB and 76,503
items.

The Inbox itself and all sub-folders have less than 400 messages, the bulk
is in the Deleted Items and Sent Items folders.

I suppose the tagging process must query for all items even those in sent
and deleted...

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Mike
