We successfully rolled out CRM 3.0 in this environment with a few registry
changes for non-crm users in our org. We are now trying the same thing with
4.0 and I'm having no luck. The client installs just fine. In our dev
envronment, the domain admin who installs it works great but any other user
that logs in and sucessfully runs the configuration wizard, then opens
Outlook receives an error stating "An error occured loading Micorsoft
Dynamics CRM functionality. Try restarting Outlook. Contact your admin if
error persists" If I click OK Outlook runs but without CRM. I restart
Outlook and get the error it faild to start last time should I start in safe
mode message. With 3.0 the instruction were sketchy, but with 4.0 they are
nonexistant so I seem to be flying solo. Any assistance would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks for your support.

Hi,

The reason there is so little information about CRM 4 client with Terminal
Server is that nothing special is required.
I have not installed into a citrix system, but have setup CRM 4 on a number
of terminal servers, and each time it has been a case of install as the
administrator, the run the configuration as each user, just like you are
trying.

Did this citrix server have CRM 3 on it before, as I have had a number of
problems installing CRM 4 on a machine which had CRM 3, this was especially
true on our termianl server. I had to remove CRM 3 from each user, which was
not always that easy.

When doing it on a terminal server that has never seen CRM 3 I have had no
issues.

Good answer. I did have 3.0 installed on these test terminal server boxes. I
uninstalled it using the user that installed it but didn't go back and do the
same for the test users. I will try that and post the results. Thanks again.

Rob, Thanks for the feedback. I am still really struggling finding the
right combination of registry keys to remove for each user. We have a large
citrix farm that is growing daily, all with 3.0 installed. Can you point me
in the right direction as far as removing all entries for 3.0?

Unfortunatly when we managed to get ours to work it was just a bit of change
it and see!!! The server it was on was not that important, and would have
been rebuild if I had done too much damage, so I really just search the
registry for CRM, and removed keys which I thought might be an issue, but did
not really document any of it, sorry.
