Fail to send email: Initialize Error
When try to send email to a prospect, some of our users received this error:
"Failed to Initialize Token. Initialize Token Failure". Others work fine.
This particular user has IE 7 installed (but it works before until 2 days
ago).

Hi There
I am having problems sending bulk emails. I have ensured the Bulk Email
service has started which it has, the test that I done sending one email from
a campaign is sitting in my Exchange Server Queue (not in CRM queue) Small
Business SMTP Connector. It seems to have created two emails aswell?
Has anyone experienced this before?

any toolbutton that says something like Promote EMail to CRM...

Mail Merge with Template Letter - Nickname field available?
Hi. I'm trying to set up Mail Merge in MS CRM 3.0 for some Contact records
and want to use the contact's Nickname when one exists. When I create a
blank letter or try to edit an existing letter template, the Nickname field
doesn't seem to be available. I know that custom fields aren't available,
but where are the other out-of-the-box fields besides the first, middle, and
last name and address fields? Am I missing something? Is it really this

CRM-Exchange E-mail Router -- Undeliverable
I am trying to setup a new installation of CRM 3.0 with the CRM-Exchange
E-mail Router. The installation had no errors.
I setup a standard user account and mailbox to work with the CRM Router. I
then used the "Rules Wizard" to apply the forwarding rules to my two CRM user
accounts.
The forwarding is working, but the emails that are forwarded to the CRM
Router mailbox are ending up in the "Undeliverable" folder and obviously not
getting into the CRM database.
Any guidence would be appreciated.

BulkEmailService
We are experiencing "disapearing" Direct e-mail buttons. The current "fix" is
to restart the CRMBulkEmailService. The features are re-enabled after that.
Is anyone seeing this too? Any clues as to what the underlying issue is?
The system log has this event logged which may be relevant:
A worker process with process id of '4396' serving application pool
'ReportServer' has requested a recycle because the worker process reached its
allowed processing time limit.

Bulk Import Question
I'm trying to import Leads with Bulk Import Wizard. Everything seems
fine except that I can't pick the Target Field, it's greyed out. Is
this because the header record contains exact field names? It looks

CRM Mail Undeliverable folder
This folder contains every email that was sent through my exchange server
that was not marked as track in CRM, is it ok to delete these emails and can

I can't go online because I have 2 contacts that were inadvertantly marked to
"Track in CRM." The message is that they are invalid and can't be uploaded

Record Unavailable When Creating New Activity Offline
When working with my offline data, I will go into a Contact Record that I
have access to offline. I will create a new activity, save it and then keep
going. Sporadically when I create an activity for that contact and hit save
I will get the Record Unvailalbe error.
When I close the window I can create the same exact activity again and it
will save just fine.
I am working offline with the Outlook client, I am the onwer of the Contact

Report Needed
At this point in time our company is not in the position to be able to write
reports for CRM. We need a report that is similar to the Account Overview
report that comes with CRM.
Can anyone write the following report and if so what is the estimated cost
for writing the report for us?
For each account by owner, we need to see all notes that have been entered
under the account, account contact and account activity (open & closed) for a
specified time frame. It would be similar to what shows up at the bottom of

Deleting system-defined views
Hello,
Does anyone know of a way to delete system defined views. For example,
the pre-delivered view for the contact entity "Contacts: No Orders in
Last 6 Months" is not relevant to our CRM implementation and is not
wanted when users select "Views" when reviewing contacts. If we try to
delete this view via customization it results in the message "System
defined views cannot be deleted". I understand that we can share a
view with a team to prevent others (not in the team) from selecting the
view, however they still see the view in their drop down. Any advice
or assistance would be appreciated

Anti-spam for Exchange that works with CRM 3.0
Hi,
Can anyone recommend an Anti-spam software that works with queues in CRM 3.0?
I would prefer an anti-spam software installed on our Exchange 2003 server.
However, I need the anti-spam software to process the e-mails before the
CRM-Exchange E-mail Router routes the messages to CRM.
I am looking at GFi MailEssentials, but I am unsure if this software will
work when installed on the Exchange Server.
Any comments on how to avoid spam in queues would be helpful! Thank you.

Resolving Email Address to existing contact problem
Has anyone else come across this issue in MSCRM3.0? - when you attempt to
resolve an email address to an existing contact in CRM (that does not
currently have an email address stored in their details) the contact resolves

CRM Backup Question
I am running CRM 3.0 on a Windows 2003 member server. CRM is using a SQL
2000 database running locally on the CRM server. In the event of a server
crash/failure, i am trying to determine what files i would need to capture
during a nightly backup to get crm back up and running. I know i need to
capture the SQL databases, but what files/directory/etc would i need to
capture that are crm related? The files would be restored to a server that
was reloaded with Windows 2003 std from scratch and already configured in

View displays wrong value for customized field
When adding some fields to an entity and displaying them in default view,
some columns in the view shows wrong value. Probably to do with the naming of
the new fields.
Steps to reproduce
1. add some new integer fields to an entity. Name them â??aâ??, â??axâ??, â??b1â??, b2â??
("a" = "new_a" and so on..)
2. add them to the form
3. add them to default view
4. open an entity-item and fill in a=1, ax=2, b1=3, b2=4 and save the item
5. check the edited item in the defulatview. The value for a=2, ax=2, b1=3,
b2=4. The problem is that â??aâ?? gets â??axâ??:s value!

Not able to open associated records
Dear all,
I am not able to open associated records in a custom entity. One custom
entity is associated with system entity (accounts),when i go to accounts and
than opena arecors and than try to open a record of custom entity from there
than it wont open(it simply wont double click!!!!!). The problem seems to be
with one custom attribute of custom entity.If i remove that attribute from
associative view than the records are opening but since i need that attribute

from. And, we want to have a managed host server for Microsoft Dynamics CRM

BCM Import
Hi,
I realize the BCM import is not supported, but I think I've found the main
point where our import is failing, and it's holding up the final cutover for
my client. I'd love any help you could give us.
The current setup is SBS 2003 with CRM Installed with SQL 2000. When we use
the data migration wizzard it fails. An in depth SQL trace shows it failing
with an error
Server Msg 1540
Can't sort a row of size 8557, which is greater than the allowable maximum
of 8094.
Before that are a number of sort errors but no specifics.
At the bottom of the this post, I have posted the actual query that fails.
When I remove the very last Order By statement at the end it succeeds. I'm
wondering if there is anything we can do to correct this?

Error when synching with Outlook offline
When I try to synch CRM3.0 to Outlook offline I get an error at the 'Checking
for Changes' part as...

Problem with 'New' Reports !?
There are no reports in my Reports Section, and when I try to 'add' them via
the 'New' command (and following the help file directions), I get the
following error:
"An error occured while trying to add the report to microsoft CRM. Try
adding the report again. If this problem continues, contact your system
administrator."
I'm just trying to upload the 'stock' CRM reports to take a look, but nooo.

CRM will not interpret HTML headers in order to effectively display email
description data in standard CRM system views (such as Preview), or for
export to Excel.
FYI, c360 has successfully overcome this problem in the "c360 Summary" cell

Choosing contact for new case email
If I am in a Case and I create a new Email for that case, the To: address is
by default populated with the Account associated with that Case. In most
cases, the account itself does not have an email address associated with it.
Instead of the Account, I would like it to be pre-populated with the
Responsible Contact for that Case.
I can change this manually, but it requires many steps.
1) Is there any way to customize this behavior so that the Responsible
Contact is in the To: field by default?
2) When I click on the "..." button next to To: which brings up the Search
dialog, it by default displays all Accounts. When I choose Contacts from the
drop-down, it then displays all Contacts across all Accounts. Is there any
way to change the default behavior of the search to show me only the Contacts
belonging to the Account which is assigned to this Case?

Mapping Ability Missing
I tried to do a mapping between the Account and the Contact. It did not work
properly so I went back to redo and the mapping option has disappeared. In
addition after that when I try to add a related contact from an Account it

Forms and Views customization not available for certain entities?
I've noticed that certain entities (e.g. price list item, or customer
relationship) do not have the "Forms and Views" selection under entity
customization. And yet each of these entities does indeed have a form. Can
these entity forms be customized?

Suppressing HTML Codes
Has anyone been able to conquer the problem of email history being illegible
on a SRS report due to all the HTML codes? Right now we are restricting all
email from our reporting -- which removes about 70% of our activity info.

Faxing Question
It is my understanding that if you're running CRM 3.0 Pro the only way to
intergrate faxing services is if you purchase an add-on from an ISV as

Quick Campaign Follow-up Task
If I create a Quick Campaign by viewing my active contacts, selecting one,
and then creating a quick campaign for the selected users, and then try to
create a follow-up task to the task created by the quick campaign, I get an
error message stating that the Parent is not valid. If I try to create any
follow-up activity besides a task, I do not get any error. Does anyone has
any ideas on anything that could be incorrect.

When a user converts a lead, Outlook is crashing. Other users are able to

All to no avail, I still can not import a 14mb csv file.

Disable\Hide Save & Close Button
Is there a way to disable or hide the Save & Close button in a form?
We are creating an address valadiation process to a 3rd party but would
like to force the users to hit the Save button. We would like to
remove the Save & Close option to keep them from closing the form. Any
suggestions would be helpful.

CRM3 and Reporting Services not talking to each other...
Recently, we moved our SQL databases off the CRM server and on to a
dedicated SQL server running SQL 2005 x64. I migrated the databases
fine, but not the reports. After I realized my error, I noticed that
the reports were deleted when SQL was uninstalled from the CRM box
(licensing issues). So I ran the CRM Repair, and reinstalled the
reports.
Now I can access the reports by going to http://<report
server>/Reports, but cannot through CRM. I get the infamous 401:
Unauthorized message, and verified that the steps in a few KB articles
and technical documents from Microsoft were correct, and they were. The
report server is trusted to the CRM server in Active Directory, and the
NT AUTHORITY/Network Service and <domain>/<crm server>$ accounts are
"Publisher in Microsoft CRM"
