    - Can't select text in input control I have created a custom page that works fine within CRM. The strange thing is that I can't select (highlight) text in a textbox control. I created the page using an asp:TextBox control and a regular HTML Input control set to type=text. For some reason I can't select the text using the keyboard or mouse in either case.     - Creating new attributes When using Schema Manager to create new attributes, I'm not able to create a new attribute with "Lookup" as type, "Lookup" is not availabe as one of the type options.     - Trouble getting Workflow Rule to fire I am using the CRM Workflow manager to trigger specific events to update the system. The issue that I am having is determining what Event (Create, Manual, Assign, Change Status) I need to assign to the rule? The scenario is as follows: When a field at the Contact level is set to â??TRUEâ?? I need a rule to run to update a field at the Account level. The issue I am encountering is that the Rule never gets fired. Here is the code, I have tried using a Wait condition and an If/Else statement: When Contact Status is Changed If Contact.QuickMoveActive = 1 Then Update: Account.QMAvailLicense -= 1 End IF OR When Contact Status is Changed Wait Contact.QuickMoveActive = 1 End Wait Update: Account.QMAvailLicense -= 1 In this case â??Contact.QuickMoveActive = 1 â?? tells the system that this user is now an active user of a specific product. When this event occurs then I need the RULE to fire and subtract 1 from the total number of licenses still available for this Account which is represented by â??Update: Account.QMAvailLicense -= 1â?? . I have backup all the sql database, and then format the server, re-installing the Windows Server 2003, and re-installing the CRM server.     - Create shortcut button to activity Hello Sorry if this is a newbie question but I havent found an answer so far. I'm trying to find a way of creating a custom button on the Lead update screen to create an activity eg a phone call as a shortcut instead of having to go to the Actions menu, then PhoneCall, ie it's just a click of a button instead of using the menus. I've added a custom button to "/activities/email/edit.aspx" and have PassParams = 1 set. However, when I click the button I get a new email activity with oID passed but the Recipient field is not populated, so therefore is not saved with the lead I'm updating. The Action menu sends more parameters but I don't know how to get my button to send all the required parameters. Is there a way of doing this?     - Migrating both SQL & CRM to a new server Hi, I am currently looking into the procedures to migrate all the CRM data from an OLD machine to a NEW machine.Currently both SQL 2000 SP3 and CRM are installed on the OLD machine running Windows 2003 Std Server Edition. We are to retire the OLD one and want to move everything to the NEW. I have installed SQL 2000 SP3 on Windows 2003 Server (non-SBS) already. Since I cannot install CRM on the NEW one without uninstalling CRM on the OLD first. I am wondering if the following steps will work: 1) Copy everything in <systemdrive>:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 9\Filestore from the OLD to the NEW 2) Uninstall CRM on the OLD 3) Install CRM on the NEW and ask the CRM to use the existing database during installation. 4) Depromo OLD, and remove it from the network. Having said that, if there anything I have to do before installing CRM after copying? If this would not work, do you have any suggestion for me?     - Error starting CRM from the Web I've just installed CRM on a Windows 2003 Server. The Win2003 Server is joined to a domain that is based on Windows 2003 Small Business Server. The Win2003 Server is configured as an application and file server. Doesn't have Active Directory, DNS, or any other services running on it, since SBS2003 handles all of this. I'm trying to add users to CRM in the Win2003 Server via the Deployment Manager, but find that I can't see from any of the users that are in AD on SBS2003. I then tried to add users to CRM manually by calling up the CRM web site on the Win2003 Server. However all I get is an error message: "An error has occurred.     - CRM v1.2 + Windows 2003 SP1 = Problems. Things seems to work fine pre-SP1, but now I'm experiencing these problems after installing Windows 2003 SP1: 1.) Trying to login with an admin account using IE on the CRM server itself gives me a "HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials." This worked just fine pre-SP1. I can log on with that same user account on any other workstation just fine. It's not a popup blocker. It's not a license that wasn't assigned to the user account. It's something else. 2.) When trying to look at my users in Deployment Manager, it gives me a "The server localhost is not responding. This might happen if it is currently unavailable, it is not a Microsoft CRM server, or you do not have sufficient privileges to run User Manager." This also worked just fine right before the SP1 upgrade. Does anyone have a fix? Seems security related? Is there a hotfix out for this issue? I realized after I imported my Outlook contacts as "contacts" to MSCRM that the contact screen does not have a company name and that I need to create an account and attach the account to the appropriate contacts. Am I approaching this the right way - is it more appropriate to import my Outlook contacts as "leads" rather than contacts? Not sure if there is a right appoach to this but it is time consuming to match up all my contacts into approapriate accounts and it doesn't seem like the way it should work.     - How to sync ALL contacts into Outlook - not just the new ones? Hi, Ive a question/problem! I want to sync all the contacts into the personal contactmap of Outlook, not just the new ones. I will tell you the problem: If I use the button Options -> Synchronise only the new created contacts are synced. In stead of the program looks what do you have in Outlook and you get the rest it checks whats new in CRM and you get that. My problem is that not all the contacts are synced. If I sync the contact to my personal contacts in Outlook the map will be filled with (just) the new created contacts. After that I delete them out of the personal contactfolder and when I try to sync again no contacts are in the folder. Is there a solution for this problem ... or is it just me :S (could be)? We are looking at taking 2 courses with regards to CRM customisation but can only really find London based courses. We are based in Liverpool so adding travel costs and accomodation to the price of the CRM courses is going to be a bit too much for us. Has anyone on here purchased the training guides on their own, without training?     - duplicate error Hi everybody ! We have just make some mappings in our MS CRM environment from Accounts to Contacts and we've got the "Duplicate Error" message. I've check the group's archives to find a solution in the kb 862493 but it doesn't solve the problem. I still have the same error. When I compare the Dev Environment and the Production environment, I can see a lot of difference in the existing mappings. It seems than MS CRM create its own through the life of the application.     - Problem installing SQL Reporting Pack We installed SRS in our dev environment but are unable to install the SQL Reporting Pack for CRM. Attempt to run SQLReportPackCRM.msi results in this error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." It seems that the SRS installation was successful. When I go to http://servername/reports, the Report Manager pulls up.     - Separate database server for CRM We have CRM installed accross an application server and a separate database server. We're getting an error when our custom pages try to access a custom database. The error message: "Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection." Everything works fine in the development environment, which unfortunately has everything on one server. >From other information we've found, the issue seems to be that the ASPNet user is not being authenticated on the database server. If we turn on anonymous access and force it to a domain account, we're able to access the custom databases. However, the user context matches the forced domain user rather than the actual logged in CRM user. In other words, application authorization used for accessing various areas of the application does not work correctly. How do we setup an environment where the database lives on a separate server?     - Import dialog box freeze after import Hi, I am trying to import contacts to MS CRM from a file. However contacts are imported to MSCRM and everything is fine. But import progress dialog box freezes forever even after i can see all the contacts in CRM. when i click cancel on dialogbix it asks to revert imported records. Has any one faced this problem.     - Client wants multi-language capability I have a potential client with sales reps around the world. The client would like to have a single database with all customer information in it. They would also like to have multi-language capability. I know that MSCRM is available in different languages, and that a MSCRM install can only support a single language. Am i correct that 1 opportunity can have several active quotes?? But each
quote can only be associated with one order and one order is associated with
one invoice.

Our client asks whether one quote can have several order. For example in a
quote for 10 items. Then the customer is required to send 5 items first and
the rest later. How to accomodate this partial order in MSCRM?

Can someone help me??

You are prtially correct. The one error if that an Order can have multiple
Invoices which can account for parital shipments in some way. Though it doesn't
help if you truly want multiple orders. You cant do what you want with the out
of the box tools.
