Has anyone from Microsoft ever stated that you can access the MS CRM SQL database directly with a SELECT statement and not break the licence agreement? Can anyone copy the MS CRM data into another database and access that data without a license? Has anyone written an MS CRM add-on application that pass the certification test which directly reads MS CRM data?     - There is a problem communicating with the Microsoft CRM server Hi, During the installation of the CRM Outlook Client I have a problem where I cannot connect to the CRM server. I used the same address to connect CRM Server via the web browser. I then proceeded with the installation, hoping I could configure this after I've completed the installation. I couldn't find anywhere how I could configure the CRM Outlook client (Bit daft I thought or is it just me??) When I fired up Outlook I got these messages: "There is a problem communicating with the Microsoft CRM server. The server might be unavailable. Try again later. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator." "An error occurred loading Microsoft CRM functionality. Try restarting Microsof Outlook Contact your system administrator ir errors persist."     - CRM AD group problem I first want to thank everyone on here for your solutions. This forum has a lot of useful solutions. Maybe someone can help me here... I am not a CRM Guru. I am an IT sys admin who was assigned the CRM project. Looking back, I should have done a few weeks worth of reading before getting into this. We started off with a test platform that the sales force tested for a few weeks. That was install #1. Then we got rid of that and built our production server. Install #2. Both times I used our MSDN install key for 10 users not knowing that we had a better license from our MS Partnership. updating the license was install #3. So everything is moving along slow, but moving. I am learning a lot as we go. Last week I posed a question about report not working after we moved our production SQL databases to another server. i got that working with your help. Now, some users tell me that the reports still don't work for them. Instead of getting the anonymous logon error, we are getting an error "object reference not set to an instance of an object" when we run reports from CRM. They work when run from the reporting server at http://crmserver/reports though. I found that the users that can access the reports are still under the UserGroup{guid} of a previous install. I add current users to that old group and it works fine. Is there somewhere I can change the security to point to the new UserGroup{guid}? I imagine it is somewhere in the SQL databases. both the reporting server SQL and the CRM DB SQL have ReportingGroup{guid} and SQLAccess{guid} security set for the newest install guid. I don't see the old guid in there anywhere. Any suggestions how I can fix this with a permanent solution? Adding the users to the old group is a band-aid fix if you ask me. Thanks again in advance.     - Changing the server license Is there a way to quickly change the server license with CRM 3.0? I installed the program with a 10 user license, but now want to use the Open License key. I tried to change the key in the SQL database, and that works except for the users. Once you change the key, it removes all the entered users in CRM. So you cannot add anyone, even the administrator. These databases and CRM package have been modified so I would like to change this on the backend if possible. Removing and reinstalling is such a pain with the reporting services and changing of the databases, I am hoping there is a quick solution. This is running on Windows 2003 and SQL 2005. Thanks.     - Regarding field data disappears from CRM Task when copying to Cale I've created a workflow rule so that a TASK is created, whenever I've made an ORDER in CRM. In Outlook, I sometimes schedule or time register by copying tasks to the Outlook Calendar, thus converting them to an Appointment in the process. Hereby, the field "Regarding" (placed just right of "Track in CRM") which refers to the ORDER from which the TASK was created, is emptied, and I have to point to the order again manually.     - Sample user mapping with actual users Hi all, I have installed Microsoft CRM Server. I used the Sample Database Wizard to import users into CRM. Out of the 12 sample users, I mapped 5 users to my actual users from Active Directory. But when I see users from the Settings tab, there is only CRM Administrator user.     - 2 Installation problems with CRM 3 Hi There Im having some trouble installing CRM on at test env. Setup is: 1. AD1 on a win2k server 2. AD2 on a Win2k srv. (with exchange 2000) 3.     - New Entity Primary Attribute Hi When you create a new entity by default it uses the new_name as the entity primary attribute. What we would like to be able to do is to use a different field to show when the new entity form is opened. For example if you open the opportunity form it shows the Topic field in the top left hand corner.     - Workflow Doesn't work (services issues?) Tested my workflow in my VPC. Worked flawlessly. Re-wrote (not imported) workflow exactly in client's server. New Workflow doesn't work. I scratched around a little and found KB article 874392 (pertains to v1.2). According to my client's IT guy, the workflow was created with the same user account as the account used installed CRM. Hmm - is that possible? The server's Security Accounts Manager is logged in as local and the MSCRMWorkflowServices is logged in as NT Authority. Any ideas of how to get Workflow service working? My description of the problem: CRM stores a semi-colon separated list of values for the tracking prefix. Every time you change it, it appends another value to the list (there is no way through the interface to clear these values out). If you ever save the tracking prefix as blank (done in Settings --> organization settings -->System settings, e-mail tracking tab) you will end up with this problem. You have to go into the database to update the prefix manually or contact MS for the hot-fix.     - CRM 3.0 bulk E-mail blasts Does anyone know if there is a way to pace CRM mail router when you you do a campaign to say 4,000 email addresses. We are about ready to do our first campaign I'm wondering if the Exchnage server (SBS 2003) will be able to handle the load or get bogged down. For example, for a radio button with the values "Yes" or "No". I need to get the values "Yes and No". The bit attribute can be a radio button or a check box.     - Offline Synchronization I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction on an issue that we are experiencing with the offline access to CRM. We discovered local data filters and set up some and were able to create new filters and go offline creating the offline database. Unfortunately, when we try to go back online we get an error. I looked up the error in Knowledgebase and it said something about the Snapshot Replication service not running. The Knowledgebase article was for CRM 1.2 so maybe there are different issues for 3.0. We do not have any replication services running for the CRM database at all. Should there be in order to synch back up and go online?     - Worflow sending to wrong Contact. I have a simple workflow rule that is set to send out an email to a contact when a new case is created. On the case there is a field called responsiblecontactid. I am noticing that the workflow is not sending the notification to the user specified in this field. Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in Makkah in the year 570, during the period of history Europeans called the Middle Ages. Muhammad was the son of Aamenah and Abdullah, from the tribe of Quraysh. He was a direct descendant of Ishmael, the eldest son of prophet Abraham. Muhammad's father died just before he was born, and his mother passed away when he was six. He was raised by this grandfather, the chief of Makkah; and upon his grandfather's death, Muhammad came under the care of his uncle, Abu Talib. Muhammad was a shepherd in his youth. As he grew up, he became known for his truthfulness, generosity, and sincerity; earning the title of al Amin, the trustworthy one. Muhammad was frequently called upon to arbitrate disputes and counsel his fellow Makkans. At age 25, Muhammad married Khadijah, an honorable and successful businesswoman. They were blessed with two sons and four daughters. It was an ideal marriage and they lived a happy family life. Muhammad was of a contemplative nature and had long detested the decadence and cruelty of his society. It became his habit to meditate from time to time in the cave of Hira' near the summit of Jabal an- Nur, the "Mountain of Light" on the outskirts of Makkah. How did Muhammad become a Messenger of God? At the age of 40, while engaged in a meditative retreat, Muhammad received his first revelation from God through the Archangel Gabriel. This revelation, which continued for twenty three years, is known as the Qur'an Muhammad began to share the revelations he received from God with the people of Makkah. They were idol worshippers, and rejected Muhammad's call to worship only One God. They opposed Muhammad and his small group of followers in every way. These early Muslims suffered bitter persecution. In 622, God gave the Muslim community the command to emigrate. This event, the hijrah or migration, in which they left Makkah for the city of Madinah, some 260 miles to the North, marks the beginning of the Muslim calendar. Madinah provided Muhammad and the Muslims a safe and nurturing haven in which the Muslim community grew. After several years, the Prophet and his followers returned to Makkah and forgave their enemies. Then, turning their attention to the Ka'bah (the sanctuary that Abraham built), they removed the idols and rededicated it to the worship of the One God. Before the Prophet died at the age of 63, most of the people of Arabia had embraced his message. In less than a century, Islam had spread to Spain in the west, as far east as China. Hi,

I have a Windows XP SP2 machine with Office 2003 Pro installed,
Microsoft CRM for Outlook component.

I installed BDL plugin/snap-in but the snap-in doesn't show up.

I read the document and still it doesn't work.

I even changed the registry key LoadBehaviour and set it to value '3'.

What seems to be the problem and does anybody make this BDL work?

I have uninstalled snapin and repaired office application (Help>>Detect &
Repair). Installed the snap-in again. Now it works.
You may try that.

You have to be cautious as your office application including your outlook
may get reset.
