    - Tracking Email - Changing size of 'allowed' email attachments Hi How does a person change the size of the email attachments allowed to be 'tracked' in CRM? We've got an email with lots of attachments and are getting an error message stating that the attachment is either not a valid type or is too large. It cannot be uploaded or downloaded.     - Auto Numbering I'd like to set up an auto numbering system that increases by one everytime a new opportunity is opened which starts with the year and works from a certain start point like 10000, next open opportunity would be 2007100001 for example.     - Workflow : Wait activity condition does not work I've created a very simple workflow that does not seem to work. The rule is: Manual Rule Task: Task 1 wait Task: Task 1 is completed end wait Task: Task 2 When I 'Save as completed' Task 1, Task 2 is not created. I find the following entry in the EVent Log: Event Type: Error Event Source: MSCRMWorkflowService Event Category: None Event ID: 16649 Date: 11/1/2007 Time: 1:42:25 PM User: N/A Computer: AMCI-CRMPROD Description: Condition {BF1490AE-A188-DC11-9C5C-00C09F1E9CAA} failed in step {BB1490AE-A188-DC11-9C5C-00C09F1E9CAA} of process instance {A71490AE- A188-DC11-9C5C-00C09F1E9CAA}. Please view the paused rule in the Microsoft.Crm.Workflow.Monitor for more information about the failure. But the rule is not paused, it's waiting and Task 2 never gets created. If I use the Workflow Monitor to pause and restart the workflow, then Task 2 is created. Can someone point me in the right direction to get started here? Notes: * CRM Rollup 2 have been applied. * The CRM user that owns the workflow has a CRM System Administrator role and the "Restricted Access Mode" property is not checked.     - Outlook CRM client connect error after password change When a laptop users changes their password when prompted, they launch the web version of CRM fine. But the Outlook client fails with the failure to load crm funtionality error because it can't authenticate. I have cleared out the IE passwords and locked the workstation to update with windows password cache but the Outlook client still fails. Where else could the password be stored or cached? Andrew.     - Cannot display reports : wrong url generated Hi, after a server HW crash, we recovered after hours of downtime. Now we have "sqlserver" SQL Server 2005 with SRS and "crm" front-end. We're fighting with report pages not shown. URL called is "http://sqlserver/Reportserver?%2fOrganization+Name_MSCRM%2fAccount Reports list shows fine but for any report, we get this wrong URL construct. The registry SQLRSServerURL entry is http://sqlserver/Reportserver I've tried to set a host header on reporting web site on sqlserver without success. No error in crm events log nor in sqlserver one. Reporting services is working fine on sqlserver and Reporting Services Configuration Manager is all green. CRM server's application pool domain user is granted access to crm reports area. The CRM 3.0 Diagnostic tool reports no error; the reportserver AppPool user has a spn for http on sqlserver. So: no error nowehere but a wrong URL Any clue? I read in the step by step in instructions from Microsoft CRM 3.0 Installation & Configuration Curriculum: ================================================ If the Support Queue user account is enabled (it should not be if you selected the Disable this account option earlier), then right-click the Support Queue user object, click Disable Account and click OK. WARNING: Ensure that this account is a disabled account. If this account is not a disabled account, the Microsoft CRM queue functionality will not work properly. You can disable the account when you enter the account password, or once the account has been created through this final step above. ================================================ Is this really the requirement? I have been told by others that this AD Account for Queue needs not to be disabled, but not sure because the statement above is so strong that the account needs to be disabled.     - exporting advanced find to dynamic spreadsheet I created an advanced find to export activity information into a dynamic Excel file. The problem is that CRM does not give me the option of exporting to a dynamic spreadsheet. Instead, it says: "this is a special view which can be exported only to a static worksheet".     - Grid view buttons I have added a button to account grid view. this button would open a new page(Custom page). There's submit button in the custom page. when i click that button the same custom page gets opened. this doens't occur if i change the winmode of this button to 0. for 1 and 2 values this scenario occurs. the issu is that i cannot use the 0 option as the window.dialogargumants return as undefined. In my case, I would prefer to be able to configure my view to default to "ALL". But I can't configure to a personal default, just the system-imposed default of "Last 30 Days".     - CRM 3.0 fresh install, Outlook Client unable to connect w/o VPN After reading over and over the newsgroups, it appears that Outlook clients should be able to connect to CRM without a VPN; however, I have failed to do so. Here is the current setup. SBS2003 w/ Exchange 2003 running CRM router service 2003Server running CRM and SQL and SRS Internal LAN - Outlook and Web-Based crm (http://crm) functions without issue. External WAN - passing through Cisco Pix 501 (opened all neccessary TCP and UDP ports)....Outlook clients (on and off-premise setup) work without issue via the Microsoft VPN to the SBS2003 server. BUT, turn off the VPN, and I am unable to connect. I have found the w/o the VPN, I must move the http://crm.domain.com into the Trusted Sites vs. the Local Intranet to get the CRM to function. I have also found the authentication doesn't seeem to pass when on the WAN because you must enter home\username and pswd. Any suggestions? P.S.     - Users can't access CRM via a VPN connection Hi -- we're trying to set it up so our remote users can VPN into the office and use CRM via their Outlook client. We have CRM 3.0 and we're using a Check Point firewall. The CRM Outlook client works great when they're in the office but when they try during a VPN session they get the infamous error: "There is a problem communicating with the Microsoft CRM server. The server might be unavailabe..." Outlook connects to the Exchange server as it should -- but for some reason CRM won't work. I've already looked through the KB article 910090 and none of that applies here (besides -- none of those would apply since it's working from inside the network). I've also tried accessing CRM from the web client and that also fails. When I try going to the site by name it just says the site cannot be found. When I try by IP address we are prompted for a login but after entering that we get a "page is under construction" site. I can ping the server by private IP address during the VPN session and I can RDP to it. I tried putting in an entry in the hosts file but that didn't make a difference. Any other ideas? Thanks!     - Problem going offline Hi, I had problem going offline with several clients and after searching internet I found a hotfix kb934370 which I tested and it solved the problem on our test environment. So I also installed it on our production environment to solve the same problem.     - Reports issue Hi All, I can access the reports at CRM server but if i try to access same CRM reports from any other computer on the LAN then i receive Following error.     - issues when two people use the "accept" button on the same queue t We use a lot of queues for our business to handle tasks and phone calls. When an employee is ready to perform a task, he or she will refresh the queue which holds the task, then accept the task. The problem is that if person A uses the "accept" button on an activity out of a queue and then person B accepts the same activity, the activity does not show up in either person's in progress queue--and it is missing from the originating queue. In fact, if you attempt to open the activity at that time (by navigating to it's parent) and assign it back to the queue, or any other user, it generates an error stating that you cannot do that when an activity is closed. The activity is not closed though; it is fully able to be edited / etc. It is easy to run into this problem, because if you have several people accepting activities in the same queue, you cant always refresh the queue fast enough to know if an activity has already been accepted or not.     - Outlook Client - Mapping - How does it work? Hi all, could anybody explain to me how Outlook &/or MS CRM 3.0 identifies the fields that are mapped please? I'm working on an Outlook Client implementation and will have to include extra fields in the synchronization. I've seen the post on how to show the Parent Account field, but need more info on how Outlook knows that FIELD X = FIELD Y in MS CRM (or the other way around)... The other problem we've come across is that a lot of our customised fields have an underscore in them (ie: PREFIX_FIELDNAME, with the prefix denoting that it's a custo). however, when I try to create a new field in Outlook, it refuses the underscore character.     - CRM and Outlook Calendar Sync. I am just starting out with using CRM. One issue I am having is that if you enter an appointment in your outlook calendar and "track in CRM" your fine. But if you enter an appointment in the CRM calendar there is no way to see it from your outlook calendar. Is this just the way it is or am I missing something?     - Can not send emails within Exchange accounts, but external emails work So basically I have setup some rules mainly for cases. Whenever a serious case is created I want certain people within the organization (MS Exchange server) to be notified. If I use an email address of anybody within the organization it doesn't work, but if I use an external account, like Gmail or Hotmail, the email is sent without a problem. On the CRM server, in the Events log under Applications, I'm getting a Usrenv Event id#1030 almost every 5 minutes, so not sure if that would affect sending emails to people within the same Exchange environment.     - Calculating Taxes in CRM Hi all, I am putting together some new reports for printing out quotes, etc for clients rather than exporting the data to excel, formatting and then sending out. I've got the reports from the Sandbox running, and I've modified them to our standards, but now I need to calculate taxes on the quotes for clients. In CRM, this is simply for show and tell, it doesn't mean anything to the bottom line since taxes have no bearing on the revenue of a company. GP sorts this out and accounts for it correctly on our back-end. Problem #1: We do business in more than one country (why CRM is US centric is beyond me in today's global business society), we are using c360's multicurrency add-in to deal with the four primary currencies we sell in, USD, CAD, JPY and EUR. We have offices in 7 different countries all using the same CRM system and we need to calculate taxes based on the local tax requirements. Problem #2: Dealing the additional tax line for GST/VAT/etc in overtaxed countries like Canada, UK, etc. My first instinct is to simply create a different quote report for each country that we sell in and calculate the taxes in each report, but as a perfectionist programmer, this seems a bit sluggish. I wanted to field some feedback on this first to see if anyone has any suggestions for handling this.     - Hide the 'save' and 'save and close' buttons Hi, I keep users from saving an entity using the event.returnValue = false; along with an alert in the onsave event. However, I consider it is a bit stupid to let these buttons available only to tell the user he can't save. I would thus like to hide them, and to have the alert displayed only when ctrl+s is pressed. Can you add buttons which will allow users to move to the next or previous
item in a list or view so they don't have to always save and close, just
save, press the next button and carry on without having to figure out which
item is next (sometimes the current item in a list/search does not stay
hilighted and if you have to look through several to find the one you last
worked on, that's a pain.).
